  2. phoenix214 - pio_magic 5-5 http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:3336e243.259c.11e7.b134.0cc47a39aeb4-1492673846&u=phoenix214
  3. Would like to enter: Read the rules and accept them
  4. phoenix214 - olegru (21-30) http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:3dac2225.1999.11e7.ab15.0cc47a39aeb4-1491353161&u=Phoenix214 Congrats to Olegru for winning the set. I managed to misclick on board 5, accidently roughed with the trump ace, and made a natural trump loser, although those 12 imps would still be a bit too short.
  5. I am a simple minded soul I have a two suiter I bid it, at least, this hand should be good enough for the maxi range. As for the bid, if your bid for this hand is 3♣, swap it around with diamonds, so you get both of those as f1 for free.
  6. phoenix214 - olegru (23-36) http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:2825ac58.1803.11e7.ab15.0cc47a39aeb4-1491178749&u=Phoenix214 funny how we bot let 5C make on 14.
  7. Yeah, that makes some sense, although, is not 1C-1S, a different beast all together? I know in my regular partneship we just have swaped the 2D and 2N responses. Although now that im thinking about it, there might be a hand type lost somewhere. Anyhow, option a) is to use the same scheme as before, but with two tweaks: a) 2D is 17-19 bal( obviously we do not need fit reverse) and 2H is 5C-4 in any major. This is something you see in strong club relays, although as partner can be weak, this is less desriable. Other option would be just to keep both bal hands together, and us the fact that we have enough space over 2D to find partners range or maybe 2D as 17-19 bal/one of the strong minor hands can be simple enough as well. Over 1C-1S, 2D: 2H - minors 2S* retransfer
  8. Yeah, I started thinking about that, so probably need to make the responses a bit custom, but I think it is still a workable idea. I figure, if need to bid them out and see how it develops, 4 and weak should likely want to play in 2M/2N 3 and weak in 3M? or maybe merger 4 weak/5 weak, and play moyesian on level 2, otherwise same as Bubwrokta?
  9. So it sees you can distribute some of the unbal raises to 3. I assume 2S is 17+ with primary clubs and no other suit. So you can have 2D as odwrotka/bubwrotka t.i. Strong hand with 3 + hearts or willing to ask about p shape. Responses for that as per here: http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/topic/28748-1c-1m-2d-in-polish-club/page__view__findpost__p__325535 And leave 3D as strong unbalanced hand with 4, where you want to splinter.
  10. phoenix214 - olegru 29-47 http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:954805a8.1787.11e7.ab15.0cc47a39aeb4-1491125675&u=phoenix214
  11. Out of curiuosity, what do you play as your 2♣ opening? As for the current spot, if you go with 1♥ being min-bal/5C-3H hands. I think having a difference between the 3card and 4card raise makes a bit of sense, although you should probably have the 3D bid open for some hand types as well, as I have no idea what to use that for? Minisplinters? Also which hands you have in 2D? Just strong looking flat hands with 3 card support, and if so that means that 1N never has 3 card H?
  12. If you play SF NT, you should be usually passing it with flatish min hands that do not have much extra, or are not clearly suit orianted: With a hand such as QJxxx;Kx;Axxx:Qx, pass should be somwehat clear, with a stronger hand, such as QJxxx;Kx;AQxx;Qx, pass is wrong as you might be missing game. The only wide ranging part comes from the fact that with hands such as AKxxx;x;xx;Kxxxx you have to bid again, as well as AKxxx;x;xxx;KQxx which strongly prefer playing in a suit. If you play Gazilli, then even the bids are limited as you have a bid for the 14-16 5-5's, so usually what you will have is weakish 5-5s or strong/conctrated 5-4s which is still quite narrow IMO.
  13. phoenix214 - olegru (20 - 8) http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:aec59ded.16d9.11e7.ab15.0cc47a39aeb4-1491050985&u=phoenix214 really close set, Oleg did not get to a slam, while I decided to not try and push a game, which was making, luckily NV. Hand 9 was a bit interesting, as both of us misplayed a making 4H, cause we both missed a nice endplay. http://www.bridgebase.com/tools/handviewer.html?bbo=y&lin=pn%7Cphoenix214%2CRobot%2CRobot%2CRobot%7Cst%7C%7Cmd%7C3SKT92HA6DAQ74CAQ4%2CSA5HQ43DJT632CKT7%2CSQJ873HT7DK98C532%2CS64HKJ9852D5CJ986%7Csv%7CE%7Cah%7CBoard%209%7Cmb%7CP%7Cmb%7CP%7Cmb%7C2N%7Can%7C2-5%20%21C%3B%202-5%20%21D%3B%202-5%20%21H%3B%202-5%20%21S%3B%2020-21%20HCP%7Cmb%7CP%7Cmb%7C3H%21%7Can%7CJacoby%20transfer%20--%205%2B%20%21S%3B%2011-%20HCP%3B%2012-%20total%20points%7Cmb%7CP%7Cmb%7C4S%7Can%7C2-4%20%21C%3B%202-4%20%21D%3B%202-4%20%21H%3B%204-5%20%21S%3B%2021%20HCP%3B%2022%2B%20total%20points%7Cmb%7CP%7Cmb%7CP%7Cmb%7CP%7Cpc%7CH3%7Cpc%7CH7%7Cpc%7CHK%7Cpc%7CHA%7Cpc%7CSK%7Cpc%7CSA%7Cpc%7CS3%7Cpc%7CS4%7Cpc%7CHQ%7Cpc%7CHT%7Cpc%7CH2%7Cpc%7CH6%7Cpc%7CS5%7Cpc%7CSJ%7Cpc%7CS6%7Cpc%7CS2%7Cpc%7CD8%7Cpc%7CD5%7Cpc%7CDQ%7Cpc%7CD2%7Cpc%7CD4%7Cpc%7CDT%7Cpc%7CDK%7Cpc%7CC9%7Cpc%7CD9%7Cpc%7CHJ%7Cpc%7CDA%7Cpc%7CD6%7Cpc%7CD7%7Cpc%7CDJ%7Cpc%7CS7%7Cpc%7CH9%7Cpc%7CC2%7Cpc%7CC8%7Cpc%7CCA%7Cpc%7CCT%7Cpc%7CS9%7Cpc%7CH4%7Cpc%7CSQ%7Cpc%7CH8%7Cpc%7CC3%7Cpc%7CC6%7Cpc%7CCQ%7Cpc%7CCK%7Cpc%7CC7%7Cpc%7CC5%7Cpc%7CCJ%7Cpc%7CC4%7Cpc%7CH5%7Cpc%7CST%7Cpc%7CD3%7Cpc%7CS8%7C I figured my line had the nice extra chance to make if Lefty started with Kx in D, but a better line to make, is just to simply discard a club on 4th diamond, as then bot has to lead a club or give a ruff and sluff
  14. As for the format for the next event, Id strongly prefer not to play IMP best hand, but rather some other format. Also hope to start the finals with Olegru asap :)
  15. phoenix214 - m1cha: 71-36 http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:d535aa8d.13ef.11e7.ab15.0cc47a39aeb4-1490730645&u=phoenix214 Thanks for the match! :)
  16. I play a somewhat artifical natural system on bbo, where you need to alert lots of things as well, same as PrecisionL, I just self alert most things, as I bid them, having a FD card for it would be nice, but this is fine as well. The most annoying this, is that you make an alert, then opp still clicks on the bid, and I have no clue what does he want... Also note, if we are playing the swiss format, then we usually wait 3-4 minutes anyway, at the end, and Opps are prone to call TD if you start thinking about your play for more than 10 seconds.
  17. phoenix214-m1cha set 2: 21-10 http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:2e9ace0b.1102.11e7.ab15.0cc47a39aeb4-1490408672&u=phoenix214 The hand where I managed to end up in 6D is pretty amusing, no idea why bot decided to correct 3N to 5D. A bit of that is counteracted, as I forgot to bid game on 3 :)
  18. I can see myself passing some of those hands, some % of the time, just as they look so bad. To note, my style is to open lots of 10 counts, but im not sure which of those hands is better.
  19. Btw, im going to be a bit busy till next saturday due to Whitehouse juniors, no idea about how much challanges I can play.
  20. Well mostly the thing I dislike is A) F1 over 1M openings, nowadays I like to play 1N as passable, in that place of the system in does not change much, in my opinion. B) 1D bal range as 12-15. One of the bigger + of playing strong club, is the ability to open light, so not being able to open light is a bit of a downside. If you can control your urge to open 11 counts, although still having a 4p NT range is not cool. So those were my main dislikes about it. As for having a standartized Revision, the problem is how to compress things, as it has quite a bit ununsual sequences, although I think, that would not be that big of a problem
  21. phoenix214 - Smerriman Set 3: 27-38 http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:c53e549b.0f42.11e7.ab15.0cc47a39aeb4-1490216510&u=phoenix214 Set 4: 26-13 http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:7a218c4a.0f61.11e7.ab15.0cc47a39aeb4-1490229699&u=phoenix214 And it is not even Friday :D
  22. I have played the system for a while: In summary, it has some nice points, although there are quite a few things I would want to swap around, and nowadays I do not find as attractive anymore, sadly as it is.
  23. 2nd set phoenix214 - smerriman (15-16) http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:8e6f12c5.0edc.11e7.ab15.0cc47a39aeb4-1490172610&u=phoenix214
  24. phoenix214 - smerriman (23-2) http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/tview.php?t=ARDCHALLENGE:458fbc43.0da2.11e7.ab15.0cc47a39aeb4-1490037626&u=phoenix214 I think there should be no problem finishing the round till Friday.
  25. There are mutiple ways, how to bid a hand with 9 cards in majors over a 1 of a minor opening, you can overcall, dbl or try a light michaels. So here is hand that came up, and the question is what would be you prefered action: Favorable in imps versus good opponents: RHO opens 1♦ which is 4+ and natural and you hold: ♠:AQ32 ♥:A9743 ♦:6 ♣:J65 And as a follow up question: What is our plan if LHO raises diamonds to 2 and 3 and it gets passed around to us?
