  1. If it is not clear which suit is trumps then 4N should be quantitative. Also if 4N is INV to 6, then in the same sequence 5N should be inv to , to keep it simple. In most of the auctions you have a way to set the trump suit, or an alternative sequence that allows to ask aces. For 1N: 1N-2♣, 2M, i'd assume standard is to set trump with 3OM, though you may have a different method. THis means that if you just jump to 4N, then it is quanti. 1N-2♣, 2♥-3♣ - showing 5♣-4♠,(if you would have ♥ support, you bid 3♠, otherwise this gets really confusing really fast), now if p bids 4♣, 4N should be aces, while if p bids 3N, it should be quanti. 1N-2♦, 2♥ - 4N - again this is quantitative, if you would want to set the major as trumps first, you usually have a transfer on level 4(4♦, or 4♣) to do this. Other examples: 1♥-4N? Normally you can set trumps with 2N, so this is again should not be asking aces in hearts - one note i've seen is that this is basically like gerber, just a general ace ask. 1♥-2♣(assuming it is GF), 2♦-4N - If you would want to set diamonds as trump, you bid 3/4D, if you would want to set H as trumps, you have 3H, if you would want C as trumps, 4C is that. hence 4N has to be quanti.
  2. Did not the bbf challange series have adv bot anyway? How does this affect anything?
  3. One method I know is to use 4 red after a minor transfer to show 6-5, the hand you have, I have not seen much other uses for the bid, so it should be fine. So 1N-2S*, 2N*-4D* 4D shows 6C-5H Over this: 4H = to play, over this if 6-5 hands wants, he can bid again. 5C = to play 4S = Ace asking in H(if did not do supper accept)/ 6Key ace ask if super accept 4N is not clear and can be used as C rcbk or spade cuebid, what is clear is that in any case it is forcing to 5m.
  4. Definetly open 2C, as this hand is easy to bid after the opening. I actually recall a hand some years back, where my p with 7-6 opened 2C, goes p-p, old lady bids, p jumps to 4M, and I'm like, what is going on?? If p has 6-5 he bids 3M...
  5. I conceade in my match vs Sieong. Well played! :)

  9. +1 To Fredin-Lindquist cc although Have played a similar set, that is somewhat workable
  10. If you add this shape to 1C, you will probably need to add some more shapes in order to play a mixed club, do not think adding that opening and keeping it strong makes much sense. Id rather then screw up my 1D opening, or other, by the way.
  11. Could offer: A) 2M as 10-13 b) 2H as Flannery/Both majors weak, pick your flavor 2S as Both minors weak or strong

  16. How about the first BBO Forums (insert number of events)mind event: Im in for the challange event
  17. In this spot: 2D = Majors 2N = lowest 3C = S+C All options are 5-5: Now you have a forcing bid with all options, except S+C, which you can get by using 3C, Also partner will know which major you have when you preempt, so he can bump it up if need be.
  18. Hm, this seems a bit complicated: But how about, just treat the 1D as natural, and play Questem over that, but keep the idea of playing Raptor, with out an anchor minor.

  20. I have tried playing 1M-2C as GF or weak D. Somehow I did not like that part of the structure although. The gain seemed to be too small, to be valuable, while it makes some the auctions with strong hands after a bit awkward. Also you lose the ability to play Gazilli in those sequences.
