West North East South - - - Pass 1♣ 2♣ Pass 2♥ 3♣ 3♥ Pass 3♠ Pass Pass 4♦ Pass Pass Pass [/font] What sort of hand would east have? What sort of hand would east expect west to have? would you realistically have bid 4 diamonds with expectations to make ?

to try and learn from it, if you supposedly both play sayc, why should you not be able to ask questions and any way if you dont play with pick up pards, you lower ur chance of social interaction and meeting new friends

Bidding template sorely needed!

I bet casacde could knock one up for us if someone asked him, his lin convertor is excellent -
how many days in a year I am stuck on that at the moment

maybe I am really dumb, But why would the bidding not start 1 diamond 1 spade 3 club then some number of diamonds or 3 hearts or what ever takes your fancy and why would you not get to 7Daiamonds minimum or 7NT from one side after bidding keycard of some sort, someone knows they have extra values
-
another question please if you x and pard bids 4NT do you then bid 4 clubs and does that show that you are two suited (clubs and hearts) as you never bid 4NT showing both minors?
-
I have a question rather than an answer if you x and pard bids the expected 5 diamonds what do you do then?
-
Win the A hearts next Ace clubs next Ace diamonds (see what happens) if K D does not drop prob then play low to K spades and ruff a club If the Diamonds split 2/1 and KD drops on the Ace I think you are looking at how to make all 13 tricks,is possible, I think the contract looks easy (but I doubt it is here because it is easy ) LOL If diamonds and spades split really badly I still think that taking the finese that other way is best and I would play A hearts A clubs K spades low D to the 10 That way I think you are still in control and just have to play diamonds out to try get a picure of how the spades sit
-
ah yes I see what you mean. yes it does give more room for slam, but I am not sure about how it does give you less room for game and not sure that is really a disadvantage
-
quite a few people play reverse bergen and I like it and how does a 3 club bid mean slam try ? it just makes it easier or at a lower level to get to slam if you have the right sort of hand and possibly he never played it because he forgot where he put his notes, I actually dont quite get what you are saying here
-
yes, when you talk while scuba diving, you may drown, so please stick to playing bridge <_<
-
another question (sorry Jack) is about my pards bid of 5 diamonds asking for the Queen of spades Why would you want to ask for the Queen, when missing only 1 keycard, you should be bidding the slam anyway (according to a post Fred answered on one of my slam hands previously, geeze I hope I got that right LOL) does asking for the Queen not give the opponents more information than they deserve or am I misguided in my thoughts here. (especially if you don't have it) What Fred said was a mistake a lot of people make is after bidding Keycard missing only one Ace you SHOULD or MUST bid the slam, otherwise you should not be asking (hope I got that right) I dont seem to be able to find Freds response to a previous post of mine
-
actually I was the only one that bid 3 spades, but my hand seemed to strong for a 2 spade overcall the singleton club seemed like a useful vale to add after my pards 1 spade bid, I did not think it was good enough for a splinter and I did not have values to bid 4 spades (which I totally disliked as a bid) I think my hand evaluates to the lower end of what you have stated after the spade response from my pard (IMHO)
-
I would open 2 spades or I would pass, which is probably what I would do, I dont see me in this auction <_<
-
playing reverse bergen which I do I would bid 3 clubs over this then sign off in 4 spades what ever my pard bid I would not bid 1NT then 4 hearts as the bergen raise would show 4 cards and the 1NT call would only promise 3 cards (no idea if this info would be any use to me, but maybe an expert would gain from that knowledge LOL) especially if he is interested in slam IMHO I expect if my pard has HCP of less than 11 as a light opener, it has other features about it that makes it a half decent opener, so I would not be scared of going to game having said that I would bid 1NT forcing with 2/1 and a pick up pard not having agreed any form of Bergen
-
what do you think of these bids please How would you bid them? do you think a club splinter by south is wrong? three souths all bidding 3 different levels of spades why? Also on the first example is this a benefit of 14 03 keycard responses to get further info at a lower level? as I assume the others bid 03 14 [hv=d=s&v=e&n=skj62ha6dak52ct97&w=s97h973d973caqj42&e=st54ht852dj6ck653&s=saq83hkqj4dqt84c8]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] West North East South - - - 1♦ Pass 1♠ Pass 3♠ Pass 4NT Pass 5♣ Pass 5♦ Pass 5♥ Pass 6♠ Pass Pass Pass [hv=d=s&v=e&n=skj62ha6dak52ct97&w=s97h973d973caqj42&e=st54ht852dj6ck653&s=saq83hkqj4dqt84c8]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] West North East South - - - 1♦ Pass 1♠ Pass 2♠ Pass 4NT Pass 5♦ Pass 6♠ Pass Pass Pass [hv=d=s&v=e&n=skj62ha6dak52ct97&w=s97h973d973caqj42&e=st54ht852dj6ck653&s=saq83hkqj4dqt84c8]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] West North East South - - - 1♦ Pass 1♠ Pass 4♠ Pass 4NT Pass 5♦ Pass 6♠ Pass Pass Pass

A farmer is wondering how many sheep he has in his field, so he asks >his sheepdog to count them. The dog runs into the field, counts >them, and then runs back to his master. > >"So," says the farmer. "How many sheep were there?" > >"40," replies the dog. > >"How can there be 40?" exclaims the farmer. "I only bought 38!" > >"I know," says the dog. "But I rounded them up." >

We had agreed SAYC standard carding and that was about all [hv=d=e&v=n&n=sqj874hj2d53caqj7&w=sa9ha98543d2ck962&e=sk653hkqtdkqt86c5&s=st2h76daj974ct843]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] West North East South - - 1♦ Pass 1♥ 1♠ Pass Pass 3♥ Pass 4♣ Pass 5♣ Dbl 5♥ Pass Pass Pass Slam 1 I bid 4 clubs to show a control (expert pard on profile, he seemed a lot better than me and was tolerant of all my many mistakes) what I want to know is did my 4!C show mild slam try, good slam try or as I intended just not giving up on looking at the possibility of a slam Then I would like your opinions on my pards 5 club bid, did I lead him on or should he have bid 4Diamonds possibly or just shut us out at the 4 level Also I would like to know does his 3 heart bid make hearts trumps and was I right to assume that? [hv=d=e&v=n&n=sqj874hj2d53caqj7&w=sa9ha98543d2ck962&e=sk653hkqtdkqt86c5&s=st2h76daj974ct843]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] West North East South - Pass 1♥ Pass 1♠ Pass 4♣ Pass 4♦ Pass 4NT Pass 5♣ Pass 6♠ Pass Pass Pass Opinions on my splinter bid here and also continuations, I am interested in my pards bids here also as he cue bid diamonds, I thought 4NT was a better option than bidding 4 spades (and I would like your opinions on that also please and my option of just signing off in 4 hearts)
