I will open this 1 diamond, I would possibly thinking we have a game in spades or 3NT possibly clubs and diamonds, I just know that 1 diamond feels right and 2 clubs may force you to 4D and 3NT is the spot (imho) 2C 2D or 2H neg (how do you get to 3NT) ? 2C 2D 3D 4D (no club or spade stop but 2!h stops) prob cos I dont have the technique to get to 3NT with qj109!h and 4 !H p.s. most of the other posters are better equiped to answer this question than me

hi, I was looking at the default setting (colours) for the new version and I see jjsb is green, the text on his name in the middle of the yellows is almost undecipherable, may be a change of colour for the standard colour scheme is needed

I am curious how this masters club would work, experts and starts only? advanced, experts and stars only? avdanced with an expert partner or star partner only? how does someone that is advanced get into the masters club, by invitation of an expert or star? who determines who is an expert and who is advanced? if you all allow an expert in with an advanced player, does this not make the masters club pointless? Why cant you then have two good advanced partners of experts in the club so this means now we have avdanced,expert and star allowed so why not just keep the old add a friend and build a list of people that you want to play against and make a note of their competance in your own eyes

hi me again I opened 1 spade then the 2/1 is a force to 2NT, this is why I bid 2 spades, I assumed 3 spades was passable I am also curious aboout the 2 club bid, does suit quality come into it, or should you bid the hand exactly as it fits your system The 4 spade jump made me bid 4NT maybe not the best ,I thought my hand was worth an ask and 4NT seemed the easiest way to stop at the 5 level, but I am only in week three of learing precision, I have a long way to go and the precision I am learning is not one I will deviate from, I am just curious what others have to say and evaluating the hand to the available bids interests me

Just a thought here, I learnt how to play bridge in Yahoo social lounge and it was rubber bridge and I loved it, I left because I watched a lesson with shep in BBO and realised in the 3 years I had played the game, I knew very little, that is why I am here, anyway back to my point, rubber is so much more social than duplicate, why not try out a rubber/social bridge lounge scoring in the same fashion as yahoo Just see how it is received and see if it is a more relaxing environment

I think the name main bridge club is good, I think all that is needed is a room for experts and maybe a room for the beginners and a room for the intermediates, if this is the way forward. I do not think that beginners and intermediate will make a good room, the difference between a beginner and a good intermediate is to much, I say this as there obviously is an issue with some people playing below thier level and not enjoying the game, as I can only see the complaints being from experts wanting similar opponents and not wanting to play with people of lesser ability mind you the intimidation beginners feel , I could be wrong in this assumption. good intermediates may not want to play with beginners (all the time) they may want to play with advanced or expert if the can to improve them selves. where do they go to do this were do serious improvers go, when you have taken away their stock of socially competant experts, there may not be an issue now, as a great mix of people are here already and some strong social circles have evolved, almost like gangs, but moving forward a few years, how do new people get into the gangs and how welcome will they feel when they come here for the first time This brings me to another issue I see, how long before the teachers in BBO start bringing thier pupils into the master club, is that really what the masters club is for, if the answer is no, then where do they get better quality opps from, the social room, the beginners room? I think more rooms will make the site more like yahoo and the zone, I think behaviour will actually deteriorate, I do not like freds suggestion, asking someone to leave beacuse they are not good or serious enough, I have seen some of the experts that will use this room and social graces and tact are not their strong points. I think that if not handled well, it could also create problems of people deliberately going in the masters club and being a pain, just like they do in other sites

over 4 diamonds, would 4NT be ok as you really only want to know about the K of diamonds to try a small slam no idea how to bid a grand from here as I should not be in this discussion forum over 4 hearts I pass as he could not x over 2 spades with a singleton or void at best he cant have a great hand and they will poss bid 4 spades which you can x

when I went to options and prefences I found that they gave me a solution to the layout issues I never liked, smart move there
