hi, well im not going to run "unclocked events" , my tourneys attract loads of players in the form that it is now, why on earth woud a change a populair thing, we had a meeting yesterday with several other td, and this i.d was mentioned there too, i 1m not going to make this and endless discussion but, the vast majority of i.d has to do with scoring bad results, not with a wife that pickup a telephone, when we send out mails, we get replies such as, i dint know this was policy on bbo, well, i know for a fact that bbo(fred uday) dont like this things, second , the ones who are doing it bid like crazy, are set , leave and move on to another tourney and do the same thing,this effects overall score must say we check now almost every red dot, i dont look at the score or anything, most when u come a at table, three players say, he run , he shoud be banned from bbo, how rude, they even follow that player and tell me after 1 minute where he is playing next.this upsets people and isnt fair for tourneyresults, subs, partners, opps ,tds. and what gerardo said is a fact they see wheter or not a member closed or got disconnected due to connection faillure, so your example woudnt be judged as i.d and therefore no action woud be taken, only thing that is not allowed is when the enduser CLOSES BBO WINDOW. greetings marc

hi, lol, mmmmmmm, just telling the statistics on that, i often get a "p is no expert, he is novice"then u get call, go to table a round after and u see that player offline, ra ra, coud this be intentional or not, and sure this will happen 1 or twice a century for the example u are referring too, just like evry courthouse has if flaws as well, we i think are trying to be as fair as we can, and the 3 stirkes out is just an option of how we can handle this . and after your first ban or warning , if correct or not you are as the saying goes a warned man/woman(counts for 2) and can take proper actions, same for the very poor connections, why even bother to play in tourneys when u always are subbed out beats me in the first place. my points just is , i host 4/5 hours a day and think i have done some seruios thinking about this and also a little bit of experience , when i go to host for somebody else i get a lot of tds that say me:always the same whit that"xxxx" player and well he s listed in mine long time, think i know lots of players with bad habits of leaving and players with bad connection, as i told before, i first add comment to their profile, second i send a mail, third i report to bbo, so in my case ,3 strikes=six when im not sure so am i patient or not?, dont like the replie that every one can host the way they see fit suggesting i would point fingers very easy. i see players going offline(after bad contract), then returning 2 , 3 times to check if they already have been subbed, then i report immediatly and list them at once, its just not fair for the poor sub who comes in with a bad contract to play . i myself do a lot of subbing to help fellows td, maybe i sujest that u try this once for a day and see what leavers hand u when they fell is time to leave and returne seconds later to register in the next tourney. just want to say i maybe give the wrong intention when i said 200% but this gets to me, greetings marc p.s as far as my quote is under question, plaese its not, dont jump to conclusions after one topic where i didnt make myself as clear as i shoud, hope this is sufficient for those who never been in my tourneys and thefore judje me on the things i wrote and write in the forum

hi, well in most cases (yellows) can check if its a bad connection or a "naughty" leave and when u see a very bad contract, report it and u in the majority of cases u have someone not playing it fair.

hi, just a poll to get an overview on community thinking of this problem, if u dont find your answer , feel free to add a replie to this . i voted for the record for option one(bbo does enough to trie and stop this) i wanted to have possiblity to make combination with choice that tds shoud be more actif in reporting these players.first poll i created, hope i done it ok and also hope to get some response to this becuase this really is a topic that upsets people and effects tournaments i feel greetings marc

hi, well mike , you a lucky guy, i used 3boards/1 round couple of times and to much baords are beeing skipped, we have agreed now with must directours in our tourneys to adjust first baord when 1 side is timeoffending, so the second baord is started in time(nomore skipped boards) we had 113 tables today and hadnt got one call of a baord beeing skipped(at leat to our knowledge) we check also every time we go to a table the complete movie and adjust all the av- we see in there, when a player ask for an adjust we check all baords he played(easy nowwith new software) and its a small % of players that always have problems with time. never had a complaint about adjusting first board for timeoffence, it beats a skipped board we feel, that leaves 4 unsattisfient player because all want to play, and its better to leave a table with second played and first adjusted then vice versa, some sort of spycholigie i dont know but the moment u adjusted first baord, second is dealt and all resume with counting and playing and it saves td work or at least its better devided(some adjust are done in the middle of round) and slowplayers are warned already and u remeber the tables, first thing i check after round is finisheh cause im wondering if they have finished

hi, its a great thing this possibilty to seek your own sub when playing but i see this alot , lots use kibitzers for this , very unfair , simple word cheating i call it, so as long as this is possible i dont encourage anymore this "seek your own sub feature" maybe add something to the subbing program if a players is kibitzing on that tourney, subbing becomes inactive, eventually if this isnt stopped i`m forced to turn kibitzing off and this woud be a real shame, also yes on what gweny said, decrease this time, maybe make possible to boot players automatically when 2 munites poor connection, i noticed that only thing u can do when this happens is signing oof and in again, staying and waiting makes things only lose more time, signing in to bbo when possible takes me 2 seconds so slow pc and other connection shoud take max one minute if not in time we see in overview complete red for that long and we can sub and get things moving again greetings marc

hi, another thing i noticed trying the filter options, enemies can only be displayed with combined with one other choice, when alone enemies is highligted u get zip, not much will use that lol but i noticed it greetings marc

hi, lol, i like the asnwer to filter by sex, religion and income, coud add a few more there, would like to filter and show me all native americans with glasses who had sex change and drive ferrari`s , i think i host one of my next tourneys for them . well, simple as that , if u dont like this filter , dont use it , some of my friends and me change flags often(to get to know them) so one day im filtered by some, next day i`ll be displayed. no question of rasict with this tool, the user decides who to filter or not, fine tool for someone who knows one language and is seeking for help or wants a p he can understand for a tourney, i wont do much filtiring but for someone needed it for some reason it coud be very usefull , so my vote off course is yes , a filter can be usefull and doesnt change anything on the imago bbo has, great improvment greetings marc

hi, think there is a problem to see at the result after playing a tournament to get the overall results showing, this happens when u played in it not for other members , they can access tournaments results and standings after, heard this from several players now and happend when i played also , maybe this belongs to software corner of this formu but as this is hot topic now, i hope uday or fred gets it faster thx greetings marc spwdo on bbo

hi, just downloaded new version, did had to adjust to new settings but great improvement, less buttons to misclick on in the lobby lol, once u get use to it its great, finding my way much easier now, as for the the new list of preferences of countrys and so(skill) i `m not going to use it much, and if their are members who filter on nationalty , well its their lost, not mine, i think i starting t make friends here in almost every country, and as for two of my dearest friends, we like to change flags on a daily basis , we wanted to ask uday to get vatican city also, but we expect uday to see us as ex-communicated lol, aslo i think i m close to having a listen player(black) from every country , well when u host several times a day u cant work around that i`m afraid . uday fred , keep up the good work, maybe one suggestion, if and when a live vu-graph is on , instead of beeing hided alittle, let moving display in the lobby run somewhere somehow, so easy access to that, rest is excellent, still looking for some bugs :P when found we`ll report. as for the screensize i think its same as before, control+w and minimise and maximase will result in 3 diffrent sizes for your screen. greetings marc spwdo on bbo :rolleyes:

hi, maybe the ones not liking the lock on other tables can create an unlocked table themselves , i start new table in 90% of the times i play in main bridge club but when allowing new players on i check for similarity in profile, also u must think sometimes when a seat comes free, 10 or more people jump on this, it doesnt mean u personnally are rejected but seat can be taken in the mean time(and all others are rejected then)

hi, same here, i usually add first round one xtra minute for subbing and all, and last board for everybody to finish within reason, i tell my co-tds not to change round clock during the other rounds because it quickly becomes unclocked when u do that and there will always be one table asking for more time!with the new software come in action, i have a lot of fun, some players called me for one board they would have made but not in time, then u get all history of that player and it happens often that they several other unfinished boards, so while im at it(adjusting) i check all unfinished boards (of those players) witch gave me a replie today: " i only ask for adjust board 6, not the others ":rolleyes: (others more off course not in favour of this player).Think we now can be more fair then ever before , thx uday thx fred greetings marc

hi, i found myself also a couple of times in that situation, had a co-host that pointed me out i had wrong scoring or movement, only thing sofar that you can do is after creating i do a dbl check before it starts, untill then all can be corected marc

hi, and furhter more about psychics, i believe when p knows what it going on its illegal so using it several time in tourney and it slowly or fast enters a agreement, we agreed that the correct explanation if ask by opps is" no agreement with partner" only good explantion my idea because p dodnt know what is going on(if he does its illegal) and i like to be reported of spychic bids from whoever is doing it so i can keep track:) but we had this discussion else where on a topic called psychic bids. for the record , im not supporting this only once a tourney idea cause like some suggested here when there is no agreement with p on this its and stays free to use in my tourneys greetings marc

hi, well everybody can direct but how about the zillion questions we get for how do you make adjustment , how this , how that, and we very friendly people who explain time and time again , i remeber one time i just explained how to make an adjust when that td adjusted a spychic bid to A-, the yellow who im reffering to will know, and how about the scheduled, all criss cross hosting without without knowing what problems are, mostplayers dont care but when they are in a tourney and there is no sub avaible we seem to care or how about the several times a td coud not coope and left or didnt show after creating it , leaving douzens of players angry in bbo , if we only get an obligated adjustment clinic and some training all of this shoud end very , today meeting , 6 question private messages about what i had to say about pyschic, lots more about how the adjust(proper synthax) when i replied to several saying , maybe good thing that u read mail from uday, they all replied: what mail? i shoud actually read that they ask. this not making rules for new tds will result in tds coming in and nowhere to turn to causing lot of unsatisfiying players . this is shared bye vast majority of tds that are hosting for some time. these tourneys are one of the atractions of bbo. not enough td on bbo is a concern?dodnt know if some would like to see even more tourney or better cooperations between the td that are priviliged to do so(now u see 5-6 tourneys going on the same time, not talking about special ones topflight,bil,abalucys ) just same tourneys going on in the same time period .Well also consider this:some of the experienced td cant coope with the flood of new ones the way it is going now and complain about this. its not fun to see 2 tourneys starting minutes before yours (problem with signups ,all"fischy" :D :( for the same subs) and i think they (experienced td) have to have some saying in this as well considering how much they donated already. greetings marc :D

hi, after downloading the 4.5.1 version and betas there after i often reinstalled bbo from scratch because 2 bbo (net.vu bridge) programms are running in the memory on my pc, one is obvuiosly waiting for a command from me, so it freezes up my lower toolbar, all is working again after i crtl-alt-delete and then close the one that uses the lowest memory, the highest memory user is bbo thats is open at that time, i tried every thing here , removing registry keys and all , deleting all my bbo folders and so on, still it remains the same, has anybody had the same and if so, did you found was was causing this and the solution for it thx marc spwdo(2) on bbo

hi, i think i read half a day about what to do when no alert is made and so on, i m very strict on that in my tourneys and adjust scores without considering if there was in fact damage, now i run around 150-200 tables a day in the two tourneys that carrie my name and all players in there are starting to get the message ,my humble opinion says me no-alert when u should have is going in against bridgeettique, so allowing this beacuse no harm was done is saying in fact its ok when u made that game anyway, opps need to explain a diffrent defence plan to prove their damage, isnt that the world upside down , we all say same things, if u wonder wether to alert or not , alert. so failure to that i issue a warning first and if the warning isnt taken in the way that it shoud, simpel sorry to opps is enough i adjust next time without hesitating and in fact , i see more and more alerts where they shoud be and less and less complaints so i think its working, however when i host in other tourney, i follow the rules they apply in their tournament. maybe beeing more strict coud change some of problems getting wurse every dat, when smal mistakes means getting of the hook humans tend to seek the next limit of whats allowed or not, not the farmost percentage of onliners have selfdispline in these matters im afraid, well who can blaim them (my children do the same as for sure i done too in the past( seeking up limits )) greetings marc

hi, does anybody ever thinks about the fact that this is an ENGLISH SPOKEN SITE , so when u alert or whatevr you have to be correct in english, it would be some thing for us to learn polish,chinese, french to explains our cc and alerting, maybe also post a cc in 32 diffrent languages, this gets to me while i see when i make query as td on certain bid( i get answer like : me no speak engils) but whenver those players need an adjust, we see some fleunt english , with mistakes i agree but they get their message across when they need it ok, everybody is free to play on bbo, no comment on that but no need to adapt to all non speaking countrys in the world, they ll learn in time what a good explanation is after an adjust or two. having that said i find myself seeing often doing all possibel to find someone (yelow or friend or yelowfriend :( ) that speaks the same language as a player to explain properly what is to be done or not, but thinking about that i feel most now enough to get actually in atourney. adding themselves, sending invite and so on, in general finding their way in bbo so i think besides some exceptions most know what is going on and what is to be explain, we all know the long version of 1!C polish club and i get 2/3 mesages from opps that there is a refuse to explain but miracels happen when we get to those table `s :) greetings marc
