  1. 4 ♥. And after what pd bids, I'll try for slam. Sometimes preempts work, and if i go down 1 in slam so be it, will do it again next time. Mike :P
  2. 10 Tricks we got, going for 11. So we have to squeeze someone or both for the 11 th trick. I can write down many hands were the squeeze will work, but i can also write down as many hands were it don't work, so I will run my ♣, and watch my opps get restless. Mike :P
  3. First of all I think you put to many hands in one thread. Now to the problems, 1 ) Pass, if pd has no ♦ he should have bid a suit. 2 ) ♥ get that out of the way. Will get back with others Mike :D
  4. ♠ ruff in dummy without pulling trump to much, being stuck in dummy can be painfull. Maybe some weird endplay in ♦ might work but I am opting for ♣ to break 4-3. Mike :D
  5. This hand has a few interesting issues about it. But I can't say anything, since if I get it wrong, which I won't, people will haunt me forever hehehe. And ben is right it is not all that difficult. So I will others struggle first.... Mike :D
  6. Beisdes the J of ♦ LHO can only have 1 other Jack, which is hopefully the Jack of ♠. Play ♠ to dummy, win return and cash major suit winners, and ♣. play ♦ up to dummy and duck. Mike :D
  7. Playing in a GNT, and being in game with already a favorable lead. Play to make. And the none♦ lead gives away that honors are split. Which means I can't make, LHO must have, beside the Ace of♥ and high♦ honor, the king of ♠. And pinning the 10 of ♠ only works if spades are 5-2, or defensive error. But is your only chance, a very very small one but better then nothing. Mike :D
  8. I play the jack of♦ and if it wins, I go to dummy with trump and play ♦ King followed by a low ♥ to dummies Queen. Mike :D
  9. 4 ♣, pd cannot pass that. Hopefully my pd will something smart. Mike :D
  10. Not my rule, my pd's. And she comes in high in national competion in USA more then a few times. Mike :D
  11. Yes give them a 2 minutes warning before tourney starts. I think that will work the best, so you have time to let people at table know what is going on. Mike :D
  12. I will be there next time I fly into Montana, love to take some money from cowboys :o Mike :)
  13. I have to agree with Luis. Pd must have had a few to many drinks or something, since a weak hand has no right to get pd out of his decision. Pd should know what is going on. 4 ♠ is in my eyes the bid of a very drunk pd who thinks he can handle the world :o Mike :)
  14. Duck opening lead, win next one. Lead a High♦ and after any return, ruff a ♠ and finesse ♦ again. Should lose a ♠, ♥, ♦. Mike :o
  15. Must be nasty breaks in suits for some not being able to make a lot of tricks. So I will play low in dummy and win in hand and play J of http://mnet.bg/~mfn/h.gif, imagening I am playing against best defense around. Not sure if they win or lose but when I get in I will play A and K of http://mnet.bg/~mfn/s.gif. I am sure it is not that easy and I must be thinking about 5-0 trump break and/or x-ruff by opps and maybe come up with an endplay and some sort of squeeze to make 8 tricks. Good thing bridge is not like chess otherwise some still be thinking about possible winning line :D For winning line on this hand you might have to play against all odds or maybe not, maybe it is as simple as I think it is, we'll find out.... Mike :D
  16. 2 NT can, and some do, be used as a relay with slam interest and trying to find out how minimum pd is with or without http://mnet.bg/~mfn/h.gif support. I don't play it myself anymore and forgot most responses to it, but I also support with 3http://mnet.bg/~mfn/h.gif directly and after finding out about double fit make a slamtry. Mike :D
  17. Not much more to say after Uday and Ben. http://mnet.bg/~mfn/d.gif finesse is key to hand. Mike :D
  18. I don't see the problem, if pd wanted you to win the trick I am sure he would have played a low http://mnet.bg/~mfn/h.gif back. So now that you overtook, you either have to have a very good reason, none here, or the card must have dropped out of your hand. And yes pd must also see the http://mnet.bg/~mfn/c.gif threat, so he could have made it easier and cash the Ace of http://mnet.bg/~mfn/s.gif and play http://mnet.bg/~mfn/h.gif back, since it cannot cost here, http://mnet.bg/~mfn/s.gif QJ are in dummy, so you are not giving up a trick. Mike :D
  19. I open all 3 hands 1http://mnet.bg/~mfn/s.gif in all situations. I never preempt with 2 Aces, and my hand isn't that bad and if I got caught speeding for once, big deal. Will do it again next time. Mike :D
  20. I will send you the answers Luis, since I can't post them here. Mike :D
  21. I disagree with bidding 3 NT directly, go through 4 FSF and find out what pd has. As Hog said pd can still have more then a minimum, and I always believe Aces and Kings are good for slam, and with pd showing 6 http://mnet.bg/~mfn/d.gif and you play Minorwood you can always try, the only downside on this hand is the 4-3-3-3. If you haven't gone down in a slam before you don't bid them enough and believe me I have gone down before :D Mike :D
  22. If a cuebid shows 10+ HCP and you play maximum X's and depending on what kinda maximum hand you X or pass and what sort of overcall you use, 6-16 HCP and X showing 17+, do you play intermediate Jumps or just weak. DO your overcalls tend to show a decent suit, or do you overcall on 10xxxx and 8 HCP in Queens and jacks in other suits ? There are many other questions I want to ask, but my typing finger is hurting :D I think after this is somewhat sorted out then I think you can start talking about forcing pass :) Since if you have only a 7 HCP hand and pd decided to upgrade his 9 count because he had good suit or something they might be playing 4http://mnet.bg/~mfn/c.gif X for a not so good score. Mike :D
  23. I agree with the auction upto the 4 NT bid. I would have bid 4http://mnet.bg/~mfn/s.gif to show 5-5 or better and slamgoing, pd can now make a better decision I think. Mike :D
  24. I agree with that, otherwise you run into people just doing this to other people because they don't like them or for whatever reason. Mike :D
