What is the pointcount for a rapor 1NT overcall ?

Thinking about making it part of my new system. Basically 2/1 with baby NT, Keri Stayman and some other stuff. Thx Richard, figured you would know it ;)

If I need the imps I would strongly force for slam. In close match I just bid 4NT and let pd help. He can upgrade his 15 count if he has many 10's, 9's and even 8's. GBB ;)

The key is to find pd with a singleton ♠ or the Ace or King If he has the A he can't have a ♦ honor, otherwise, but possible, the opp opened 1NT with 14. Again looking for pd with very specific holding and certain cards. I think I am happy to be in game and yes slam is nice but very hard to get in. GBB :lol:

I am cashing the ♠A now and see if pd like them and if Not I will cash ♦A. I don't believe opener has solid ♣ and 2 side Kings. I just have to find my pd with a K. GBB :lol:

I pass, pd has ♥ points and minors. I have trump and some minor suit cards. This shouldn't make. GBB :lol:

Obviously, my pd needs a few lessons about penalty doubles opposite a minimum pd and also some defending lessons. GBB :lol:

I would have bid 3♠ first time around. Now I have to pass, I have 3 tricks in 2 suits and pd doubles for penalty, probably a more corperative double imo, but anyway :lol: GBB :lol:

3♦, pd needs perfect hand for us to make 3 NT, mine never have them. But this is again why I love to play 10-12 NT, now I "know" almost for sure pd can't have any hand for me to make 3NT. GBB :lol:

I don't think more then half the field will be in slam, so making is good enough. GBB :blink:

I am bidding 5♠, I was going to with the thinking and I still am. My defense is nog so great, but I have nice offensive hand. I don't think you are going to lose this in a commitee. GBB :blink:

I am not really seeing a problem. When playing this way, and I have for many years, bid 4♦. Your pd knows now that you have 5+ ♠ and 4+♦ and slamgoing hand. You will either hear a cuebid or 4NT. GBB :blink:

Too many gadgets and [people start forgetting which we do and which ones we don't play. Play bridge first. Common sense will tell you that a 4♠ cuebid will wrong side the contract most of the time. Basing your decisions on thinking that maybe pd forgot the system is not good. Most play parttime bridge with parttime pds on BBO, so I really don't get why all these gadgets need to be played. Maybe you want to play them with a longer and steady pdship that has worked on system for a while. Again, keep it simple and play bridge. Nobody being impressed that you play switch or whatever other gadgets, impress with declarer and defending play. That's where you win and lose bridge, not some crazy gadget that sometimes might be forgotten :blink: GBB :lol:

I guess double would be the value bid. Too bad I can't always double since with some of my pd's that would be support, with these pd's I will have to bid 3NT. It might very well be 6 or even 7♣ for us, I have many controls. Maybe the preempt just worked. I will double, going for the ♣ slam. Pd must have ♣ and if not he must have many many ♠ and we'll play ♠ slam. Slam it is B) GBB :ph34r:

Most of the time I will bid 3♠, I do have a fit. I might, mostly in MP's, bid 2NT because of all my slow values. I do have more then I promised. GBB :ph34r:

I overcall 1♠, granted I have 19, but with way too many losers. So then I would have to double the 2nd time around. It's not always about the points in your hand, sometimes they are just to ugly to count for full facevalue. GBB :ph34r:

I can play with "Matushko" 2/1 style with weak variable NT and precision destroying "exclusion transfer" overcalls. But I have hard schedule, I would like to know when, and what timeframe, since he lives in Russia and I am in USA ( most of the time ). GBB <_<
