  1. broze 40 - gerardo 39 in 3rd set. Sorry can't access link atm broze - Gerardo last set Well done, Ambrose
  2. First 2 sets broze - gerardo Set 1: 49 - 10 Set 2: 43 - 2 I've got very lucky on several boards. e.g. Set 2, board 3 gerardo opened a strong NT while I chose a dubious upgrade. As a result the opps bid to the cold 4H over his 1N opening but not over my 1D opening.
  3. Haha. I guess pass showing no preference! That is pretty funny
  4. Thanks for the game Barry. 1C was an absent-minded short club that cost. You did well to avoid the bad slam
  5. IMP teams, 20 VP scale ♠xx ♥QT98xx ♦KTx ♣Jx (p) 1H (2H) ? 2H explained as spades and clubs (at least 5-5) What do you bid at a) love all, b) favourable vulnerability?
  6. Congrats Phil - running good! Very tough draw now I think (not that there are many easy draws)
  7. Some of mine: +6 vs nekthen +20 vs Aurora -36 vs stopiello +23 vs icycookie
  8. This was so annoying - you'll see I misclicked to open 1H instead of 1S. -22 IMPs.... I probably could have salvaged 9 or so of those but I was just praying for the bot to let me out in no trumps somehow. Unforunately it bid hearts to the 7 level. :(
  9. I think I need more info about your system and agreements to answer accurately. Context is everything in choice-of-game auctions. What would 1N opener have been? How often is 2N a balanced hand? Taking your post literally (you say "partner's 3NT suggests you pass if 3-4-3-3") it is clear to bid 4H; you are not that shape and the honours are suit oriented. However, if 2N is often unbalanced and partner's bid is simply offering choice of games in that context then I will pass. I expect him to have a lot of stuffing and if he doesn't want me to pass with the balanced hand he shouldn't be offering choice of games.
  10. I play comparatively few forcing passes and this is an easy FP for me (and my cat). 4C clearly sets up a game force.
  11. Pass - not close. I hope this is not one of those partners who loves to shoot at MPs.
  12. 3S is an underbid assuming they can show a limit raise. Even in Guthrie points I would award 5S a big fat zero.
  13. I'd like to play and accept the ToC's. I assume rule 6 is meant to be 5-6 sets a week. - i.e. about 64 boards or so.
  14. If there is to be another event following this one can we start organising it while this one concludes? (If that's not too much work for the organisers)
  15. I think S should realise that N is under a lot of pressure to bid 3N a lot with a good hand and a spade stop. I would remove to 4c as South.
  16. EDIT: misread your post. I would announce personally. I alert in my own systems where 1C is clubs or balanced (or in one pship clubs or balanced without 5S)
  17. Would have bid 3S over 3C to show a stopper. AQ♠ looks great. Might catch xxx Kx Ax AKxxxx or similar.
  18. Double for me also. If I didn't have 3H I'd be happier with 3♠ as a stop ask.
  19. Set 3: broze 7 cherdano 9 Will finish set 4 shortly. EDIT: Also 9-7 to cherdano in final set. Well done and thanks for the game
  20. Last set broze 11 - jordanova 5. broze 11 - jordanova 5http://Many thanks for the game.
  21. On the OP hand unless you are playing pen dbls any call but pass is nuts (with either preempt)
