  1. 4S red/white? Wow you guys are brave! I would bid 3S.
  2. 5H followed by 5N over 5S
  3. So LOL has gone out of style? A preemptive lol? When I posted no one had doubled yet. I don't think double is LOL anyways.
  4. Yeah don't double people who bid 4 after their partner passed a 1 bid.
  5. Alternatively, partner might have a spade 1 suiter that he was going to double and bid spades with and has a stiff club.
  6. How do we know we have a diamond fit? my understanding is that partner can still be 4225 or w/e after 3S.
  7. You have a yarb and only Kxx of hearts.
  8. To say I have strong feelings that 4H is the right bid would be a huge understatement. You absolutely 1000 % must bid 4H with this hand.
  9. It would help to know something about our system
  10. Given that we have Kxxxx of clubs and that partner had a forcing 3C bid available ill bet on a splinter.
  11. Are you joking? edit: Just read Han's post above. Are you guys actually saying that playing in the semi finals (top 4 teams) of an 8 team womens event makes you a world class player? Give me a break. And FWIW I'm not saying that no women are world class players, I don't believe that, but many in this event are not and i'm sure they would agree with that.
  12. I'm getting old, I wouldn't do it.
  13. LOL at thinking getting this right when it's posted as a problem means you will always get it right at the table. I'm sure that all of the people who got this wrong at the table would also have gotten it right on paper. The reason many of the forumers who are good analysts and get all the problems right all the time don't win everything is not because they suck at bidding, it's because people make mistakes in real time competition where most of the routine looking hands are actually routine. A lot of you who mock people for getting a hand like this wrong would also get it wrong after playing for a week straight and not having a wire on this board that it is a textbook hand, or you would make some other stupid mistake that you would not have thought yourself capable of, and would never make in isolation.
  14. Partner doesn't need that much. ♠xxx ♥AQx ♦Kx ♣Axxxx That's a fairly weak hand that offers slam on just two 3-2 splits. Sure, two 3-2 splits is not great to rely upon, but partner has to have extras, we have space to move about, and sniffing cannot hurt. LOL
  15. I tried to be cute with 5H and see what happened. LHO bid 6C, partner bid 6H, and was doubled there. xxxx AQJTxxxx void stiff, and the DA was onside so +1210. At the other table Rosenberg was even cuter with 4N. Lefty doubled and partner bid 6D showing a D void. He bid 6H, and LHO bid 7C, passed back to him. He knew 7S was probably cold, but doubled anyways for 1100. Win 3.
  16. I'd bid 3C in part 1. Agree strongly with 2S in part 2. Feel strongly about 3N in part 3, you have xxx that's good enough.
  17. x AQJ9xx KQx xxx seems like a normal 3H then 4D. I think 4C is coming in either major.
