  1. I have no idea what ACBL GCC includes so I also vote for anything goes. Would also like to find someone to partner :) I'm all open for discussion and learning what comes to system.
  2. Where is Magic Diamond from the list? :P I actually prefer the "Magic pass" variant so it goes under forcing pass in a sense. I really think it truly is the best system yet made (of course not all auctions of it are perfected yet) but also is the most difficult and has a huge memory load. My head is totally messed up even with the light version ;) I also like really much of some self made systems which are based on semi-forcing pass, Magic D and Polish/Carrot Club and sort of hybrids of these. I especially think that working with Polish and and Magic D could lead to system that's better prepared against distruption in same way as Polish is compared to precision. It might also help to incorporate my favorite single bid of kamikaze NT into Magic D.
  3. Easy 2D. All white 3D.
  4. Max weak michael's nv but that's what I bid. Make Q to K in hearts and it's easy 2H bid.
  5. Easy diamond. I have 6 points so either partner has opened light on third seat with a good suit or opps are in a 23> point 3NT when it shouldn't make big difference as long as we don't lead a club. (Which might be their long suit if they have one)
  6. Stayman and invite if p has major, play in 2H if he doesn't.
  7. On the first deal 3NT seems absolutely horrible and it seems the defence gave you way too many gifts to be realistic. On second one I think I'd like to be in 6D rather than in 3NT, it seems everything was wrong if 3NT gave that much IMPs. On 3rd and 4th I think 3NT is "not that good but shouldn't be avoided" meaning that there is no need to make systems to avoid these. They have reasonable chances is opps don't make the right lead.
  8. AKJTx KQx xx xxx P - P - 3♣ - ? All NV playing 10-12NT/ All Vul with sound openings.
  9. I know a pair who plays 5 card minors for fun. It's basicly all natural approach but major suit opening can be 3 cards. They have very good follow ups and the system seems to work well occasionally. They are also really good players so I guess that helps a lot
  10. With 15-17 I want to have a good hand with 4 trumps to accept. Doesn't have to be max points but good controls. NV I play 10-12NT and then I super accept with any 4 card support in order to pre-empt opps.
  11. Again I'm so very happy playing Gazilli. Never have trouble with hands like this.
  12. Indeed, why to assign blame if you are in optimum contract? Although the bidding could and should have been a lot better but Han already said all that.
  13. I have reversed the meanings of 1NT - 2♦ - 2♥ - 2♠ and 1NT - 2♥ - 2♠ - 3♥ (First sequence gf 55+, second inv. 55+) to have more room in slam auctions where it might be needed. Losing the ability to play 2♠ isn't much of a loss.
  14. I actually thought this one too when it happened. For me this shows singleton or void or sometimes even singleton honor. This is mostly because 2♥ over 1♠ takes away so much space that there's no chance to have different sequences to show void. After 1♥ and 1♠ I have 3♠ and 3NT to show void splinters respectively. In 1♥ - 1 ♠ sequences I have Gazilli available so there are ways to show everything you can possibly imagine in hand. Except that one time when I had 5611 and couldn't splinter in both minors :)
  15. I play Millenium Dont so it's a call between 2NT (Any strong two-suiter) or 2♣. I think I'll try 2♣ however.
  16. If I must open, it's 10-12NT. 2♦ second choice but it doesn't appeal too much since majors are really easy to find still and my suit is horrible.
  17. Oh I so love fit jumps. But I'll take the splinter option here.
  18. 45 in black suits. Obviously 22 reds. Not good enough spades to overcall on one level and not good enough hand to bid clubs. Wanted to defend 1NT. KJxx xx xx KQTxx Something along those lines...
  19. 1♥ - 1♠ - 2♣* - 3♥ - 4♦ - ... 2♣ Gazilli, 3♥ showing 5+♠, 3♥ and mild slam invite. Shouldn't miss after that.
  20. Playing UDCA, dropping the king under the ace tells partner two important things. That he needs to continue hearts (high is high only if you can spare it) and if we have the lady, we have odd number of hearts. Now partner can count if he really needs to continue it. (If he had 5, he propably shouldn't. Of course depending where the J is then) Well now it works out and p can put me in with 5 of hearts, easy to read it's a signal to clubs. With the lucky lie of the cards, it's not even necessary if the declarer is any good since he's about to lose one spade trick. 2 down.
  21. Agree with Ken here, although I guess 4♠ can give some description too. But hand like KJxxxxx - xxxx xx is clear 3♠ opener but I won't let pard play 3NT since my hand contains features that are not frequent in 3♠ openers. Typically I must have void to even consider pull.
  22. There are many things in this auction that should happen differently I think. After 2♦ I think north should jump to 4♣ to show a suit like this. Now that he doesn't, south has no need to bring those spades on the table as he has semisolid diamonds, so 3♦ instead of 3♠ should be obvious. Now again I think north did a poor choice in 4♣ since now atleast it seems like slam going hand with AKJxxxxx of clubs at the very least. Jump to 5 would still have been better. I don't criticise 6♣ so much since if p really has what I at this point think he should, it seems good enough slam to bid and I doubt I can find out about things I'd need to know to make better choices. I'd still give it a try with 4♦ though. 1♦ - 2♣ 2♦ - 4♣ 4♦ - 4♥ 4♠ - 5♦ 6♦ I think the auction should look more like this.
  23. The problem in the bidding wasn't finding the right level but the right suit to play in. Of course the first problem was the absence of negative double, but south also had rather obvious 2♠ after 2♥. Thus it's not just one person to blame.
  24. So you are not afraid partner might pass the X? I'll tell what happened in our table. I was the 3♥ opener. Afterwards came 4♥ - P - 4♠ - P - 4NT - P - 5♦ - P - 6♣ - P - 6♠ - P - 6NT - AP Other table harder time... P - P - 2♥ - X - 5♥ - P - P - ? While one table had easy time and still failed... P - P - 1♥ - X - P - 1♠ - P - 5♣ - AP
  25. Club night, MPs. You pick up this monster red vs. white. AKQ KJ A KQJ10xxx P - P - 3♥ - ? What's your plan? How about after 1♥?
