1N looks better with balanced hand like that.
-
What used to bid North with hand#1(board2)?
-
windows client GIB wasn't affected by the latest update which contains inverted minors sequences fixes. the same hand is not passed by web or robot tourney GIB's.
-
By saying "money" bridge did you mean that happened with windows client while playing at MB$ vs other person and GIB?

♠953 ♥Q87 ♦KT942 ♣92 has 6TP 1♠ - 2♠ - is 7-12TP while 1NT is 6-12. That 1TP made GIB to seed as 1NT and then to return back to 2♠.

Rebiddable unsupported suit at the 5 level?
georgi replied to Bbradley62's topic in GIB Robot Discussion
The problem seems to come because 5♣ promises just "biddable C"=4, that's why North might deducted 5♠ seems more luckily. -
Looks like bug. It will be investigated for fix. Can you provide an example with auction or hand about your suggestion?
-
That's fixed in the coming release. It will be limited to 11-14.

Why the sequence 1x 1y should need a rebid of artificial game forcing bid. If you had the feeling you can claim a game could open 2♣. Otherwise you can always force naturally or by using no trump call expressing your opening values. Using 3NT as rebid is already game where your partner is cornered toward. Regarding 3♦: The call already forced North. Despite the 1♥/♠ - 1NT - 3♥/♠ which do not. So that is the hole in that sequence. 3♦ - 21- HCP; strong rebiddable ♦; 18-22 total points; forcing to 3N That should be corrected, and make it similar to major behavior

6♣ is definitely bad choice. The issue probably comes from the 5♦ which still says 3+. In all cases 5♦ do not increase the initial sum of points the NS claimed to have. So 5♦ should be a sign off by North. South shouldn't bid more. 21+ should correspond to the bidding and South should have to bid like that. Having solid suit, void heart, etc.
-
For #3 it's very interesting hand, where any bid may be wrong. You can't pass with 15HCP although quite bad 15HCP, you don't have 4th spade for X, no stopper for 3nt, may go up the secure level with cuebidding or introducing clubs at fourth level. The smallest deviation from the lie for me seems to be X, where you offer to your partner opportunity to pass with balanced minor hand and no shortness in heart, bid 3NT with probable ♥Ax or bid his longer minor where you could raise. But still with X you will put your partner on the grill with 4342 hand or 4432. Weird hand holdings for any human pair no matter how settled they are i think.

For #1 & #3 it seems the response-pass and continuation over 5♦ are not justified. But for #2 seems ok. GIB will go through Lebensohl 2NT then 3♦ drop bid over your 3♣ forced bid. So going up with 3♣,3♦ etc over 2weak - X should corresponds to good hand.

That's the GIB's CC with the basic things you could expect http://webutil.bridgebase.com/v2/acblcc/acblCC.html?x=656469743d6e266b65793d4143424c2f4e2f7261696e2f313239383931343233395f313038365f667265642f3132393839313432333926706172746e65723d7261696e Look under "Minor opening" and down below under "Responses" -> Other: 2♣ after 1♦ opening not GF

So it seems like bug. But not because of the 2♣ explanation, but because GIB has passed with these values over 3♣. It will be investigated for fix.

1st case looking buggy, but for the 2nd is different. new suit introduced on 2nd level higher then the opening would be 14+TP which North doesn't have. new suit lower then the opening would be 11+TP, but you've opened 1♣, and North has diamonds. If the bidding was say: 1♦-1♥/♠ - with the same hand, but clubs suit, North will bid 2♣. So it's not broken, just evaluated what will expose with its calls.
-
Sitting as North, what would be the difference between 2♦ and 3♦ rebid by your partner-South? If both are supposedly none-forcing and forcing North to pass for sure, why do we need them. 3♦ is looking like game-invitational bid, and North having 9HCP, and nearly TP, 18(promised by South as minimum) + 9 looking good enough as game attempt. With no stopper in majors 4♦ is looking normal, isn't it? Do you think North should ignore these values as bad and pass or aim to 3NT?
-
Yes, it used to be a glitch call. It's fixed for the next release and it's going to be as second denial like "To Play" instead of Blackwood. Similar for 4H ( showing shortness ) and 4NT again.
-
Strange indeed. It should have been fixed. Will be checked.
-
it's not auto-retreat situation, but in cases the hand is treated as not good for pass on 1NT, it will be definitely not 4th in the suit GIB retreats. The expected layout seems like 5+ and of course unbalanced.
-
It's bug, which will be fixed in next release. Regarding simple, free and preemptive raises the overcall.
-
It's certain bug. It's fixed, but it will be present in next release. The bug refers to all auctions like: 1♣ - 1♥ 1NT - 2♥ 1♣ - 1♦ 1NT - 2♦ 1♥ - 1♠ 1NT - 2♠ etc. in general the "retreat from notrump" cases
-
It seems there is a glitch in the explanation, it will be adjusted.
-
it's incorrect. it will be fixed.
-
This is not likely a bug, because it's expected that after you've used RKCB over hearts that will be your future contract. However, the next update will have opportunity human-player to override the 4NT designated suit and bid 6NT where GIB will be forced to pass as signoff. It will allow to use 4NT as inquire over some suit, followed by queen of trumps and/or kings asking and then decide the contract where 6NT would be accepted as stop. The steps would be optional as you can bid the 6NT directly after 4NT answer.
