  1. 1♣ - 1♥/♠ 2♦ - 3♣ - Raise -- 3+ ♣; 4+ ♥/♠; 6-9 total points
  2. Let say we have three situations. Assuming 2♦ is matching its strength and you should attitude toward that. GIB has minimum hand. GIB has invitational hand. GIB has hand to make forcing to game. It doesn't seem so certain 3♣ is a strong hand. What should GIB do with weakish hand and 4+♠ and 3/4♣? Something like : ♠AJxx ♥xxx ♦xxx ♣Qxx 1♣ - 1♠ 2♦ - Opener reverse -- 5+ C; 4+ D; 3- S; 21- HCP; 18-22 total points - And now? sometimes you don't have the perfect hand to fit in your call. That's not always wrong to deviate around a bit. You can't bid 2NT as stronger hand and as you have nothing in ♥, and you don't have 5+♠ to promise, no 3♦ option either. When you are in forcing, but not to game, you should have option to stop safely. So in this auction, where 2♦ is not still GF ( but you have to make appropriate attitude toward), 3♣ looks like negative choice, then to support and forcing up. With the particular hand above ( we have 11HCP and super fit at least in one of the minors ), 3♣/2NT doesn't look right, more likely initially 2♥(which call may need a tweak) then fit in ♣.
  3. For such hands GIB has on disposal cuebiding the preemptive openings which is strong two-suits X-losers. Like 3♥-4♥ - 4-losers, 4-5 -> 3 - losers. etc. This could be improved as obviously GIB didn't find it, but has bidded conservative 4♠. 3♥ - 5♥ has not the meaning of 3- losers. So that could be one step of improving.
  4. Thanks for reporting. It's been a glitch in this sequence. It's been corrected in the new update.
  5. Thanks for reporting this. Both have same issue with problems with overly loaded hands rebid by opener. It will be fixed.
  6. for #3 the lead is not so terrible, just unlucky to find you with top honor based on 1♠ 3♠. for #6 the 6NT rebid is likely a glitch. It will be investigated for fix. Although 2♣ was rather hilarious, it doesn't justify the 6NT rebid.

  8. Thanks, it's bug ( with Free raise ) which is fixed. In the particular auction it will bid 2♠ - Cue: limit raise or better -- 4+ D; 11+ total points
  9. 1♥ seems correct. The pass of North is likely a bug. It will be checked for fix.
  10. Ok, but what would be the idea to bid it? 5♥ and 5,6 whatever would be played by South. More likely could be 5NT to be pick a slam like supper support or too strong support, say AK doubleton. But as GIB picks 6♥ player corrects again. South supposedly has 2+, so 6 and 2 means we have fit, why would South deny the 5♥ and trying to get 460 instead of 450. North could have void in cards, so hearts contract to be safer. Seems like that. 5H invites to 6H, but not to NT contract. That's why the logic could be let's play on the suit we confirmed we have. 6NT could be stop bid as the idea of #1, but in some cases player just squeezes the GIB with particular board invented conventions, which understandably GIB can't be prepared.
  11. Case #1 is not relevant to this change. Case #2 yes. It will be investigated what forced GIB out of the new rails.
  12. Thanks for reporting this. But this case is supposedly changed since the latest GIB update. 2011/10/18. After using the suit-RKCB, even if you asked for Q or trumps, then for kings, 6NT will be sign-off bid and GIB will not proceed. It should be applied for any cases where you see Blackwood (X) in your 4NT. Could be your or partner suit, it shouldn't matter for 6NT. Can you provide a recent example of this situation happening on robot tournament or any web version activity with GIB? If you have used say 4NT over Hearts, but then say over the reply of 5♣/5♦/5♥/5♠ you bid your own suit you planned to bid, then the case would be different and GIB most certain will pull to the appointed suit level.
  13. Simple overcalls will be additionally improved on 1st and 2nd level in next update. It won't pass here.
  14. West hand is not so powerful so fight with when 2♥ is given. 6th ( which is promised by default), but in general not so good suit if partner has singleton. If we review on closed hands, not on open, there are some thoughts. Partner is passed hand, so how if you're East will distinguish invitational hand from part-score fighting hand? Also, when you gave forcing bid, like conventional overcall or Double, and when your partner bids the forced bid ( which kind of limited ) or has no desire or chance to bid at all and you bid again, what hand should be that? That's was what i meant about West is released to give a call. 2♥ gives West option to review its hand once again. Bidding 2♣ here or giving Double is not automatic trigger to explain again your hand on next round if you don't have extras to do so. East has also option to give active bid like biding his own suit, or 2NT invite, so 2♦ shouldn't be counted as 8+HCP and 3+fit elsewhere, right? so a hand like ♠AKTxxx ♥x ♦Axx ♣QJx looks much better to compete with over 2♥. Or having at least 7th spade. OTOH, 3♣ is certainly a glitch, which could be fixed.
  15. 2NT requires features. So 3♥( or back in the major if you have opened 2♠) is the bid which GIB could bid when doesn't have features in the side suits. Probably the explanation could be adjusted to the basic promised. Otherwise is not misbid.
  16. Looks like good examples of glitches in supper accept followons. It will be investigated for fix.
  17. Looks like glitches on the road. 3♥ promises just 6TP, and GIB has 8TP, so it needed to consider some more active continuations, like 3♣,3♦, 4♥ etc. It went wrong here so it will be investigated for fix. After it was released from the obligation to bid its suit by South bidding 2♥, none-forcing 2♠ would require bigger minimum of points.
  18. ♠K3 ♥9652 ♦K3 ♣KT982 has 9TP ♠K3 ♥K965 ♦32 ♣KT982 has 10TP and will bid 2♠ here ♠63 ♥KQ92 ♦53 ♣KJT92 has 11TP and will also bid 2 ♠ and etc ahead. Following the evaluation you suggested, if North holds hand like ♠Q4 ♥A432 ♦K ♣JT843 should GIB bid game directly based on 14+TP ? So that hand matches the 7-9TP range. Although looking good hand, GIB could consider after simulation to improve them to 2♠, but 3♥ is not looking as wrong.
  19. Strange, as GIB shouldn't consider pass at all, but it will be investigated.
  20. If 2♠ is considered as invite+ and 3♥ as constructive raise why North should evaluate that hand so profitable? The good news is you have 4 trumps, but you can't force while there is two-suiter with unknown minor. Which king besides K♠ is looking as trick at first glance? Still 1♥ opening doesn't promise AKQxx or AQJT to be certain one trump loser max. So your partner could be faced into trump guessing as well. Without singleton somewhere just imagining Kings are behind the West's Aces looks too optimistic to invite with 9HCP being 9 or 11 optimistic TP.
  21. Yes, if the K♣ was K♠ and same shape, same hand would be evaluated to 13TP.
  22. 1 minor - 1NT -> -- 3- H; 3- S; 6-10 HCP; 7+ total points 1 Major - 1NT -> Forcing one notrump -- 3- Major; 6+ HCP; 12- total points As GIB can use 1minor - 2NT to show balanced invite with 11-12 HCP, 1NT is promising less. As GIB can't use 1major - 2NT to show the same meaning due this is !Jacoby -> support; balanced -- 4+ Major; 13+ total points it must pick up other bid. So with stronger hand GIB will bid GF 2♣/♦ or higher etc, depend on holdings. Even looking stronger, it's hand which could be described later ( North doesn't consider 1NT it will be passed ). So 3♠ duly delivers information it was good support with 3rd fit and good slam was reached.
  23. Yes, that's the entire meaning of the cuebiding the opening suit on 2nd level.
  24. 1♦ - 1♥ - Pass - 2♦ - Good support in ♥ -- 3+ ♥; 10+ total points ?
