  1. Partner's double would be for TO.
  2. All red, imp's: ♠xx ♥Q98xxxx ♦Q43 ♣J (2♦*)-Pa-(2♥**)-3♣ (Pa)-??? *Multi **Pass or correct Do you pass or bid your 7-card suit?
  3. Red vs White, imp's: ♠T98x ♥KQ ♦xx ♣JT9xx (1♥)-X-(3♥*)-Pa (4♥)-X-(Pa)-??? *Weak What do you do?
  4. (1M)-Pa-(3♣)*-??? *4+ card support and 7-9 HCP's What would double show? What about 3M? Would it make a difference if the Major is Hearts or Spades?
  5. Red vs White, MP's: ♠--- ♥Kxxx ♦QJx ♣AQTxxx (1♠)-??? All Red, MP's: ♠--- ♥QJxx ♦QJx ♣AQJxxx (1♠)-Pa-(2♦)-??? and? (1♠)-Pa-(4♠)-???
  6. The Director should have been called when 14 cards were dealt to us. I'll suppose it's only 7 clubs and I'd start doubling. 3NT over partner's 1NT.
  7. Partner held: ♠Kxx ♥AJxx ♦Kxx ♣QJx but she took a lot of time before passing 1♥ and probably a little after 2♥. Isn't pass a LA? I thought it might be but apparently not? I think it is for beginners though.
  8. I don't quite like South's pass over 2♠. Playing teams it's quite normal to bid 2♠ with north's hand. I think I prefer 1NT instead of double with South's.
  9. I REALLY don't want to let them play this contract. I'd double.
  10. teams, all red: ♠AKQx ♥8xx ♦K ♣AKQT9 1♥-2♣ 2♦-???
  11. What if instead of 'lovers' we read 'couples' or 'pair' as in people who play always together? The emperor has no clothes is quite a riddle though...
  12. Teams, white vs red: ♠AT976 ♥T9 ♦Q8x ♣K97 Pa-(1♥)-Pa-(1N) Pa-(2♥)-Pa-(Pa) ??? Editted, thx The Hog
  13. Passing is probably the right thing, partner holds 2♥'s at most and that lead won't necessarily get them down at 3NT.
  14. The answer to number 4 is probably the most interesting, since it should be clear that you have to force to game with opener's hand, you have to keep 3NT as a possibility with responder hand and I would have driven to 6 with opener's hand. I think the finesse is the normal play, so I'd go for the drop.
  15. ♠Q ♥xx ♦AKT9xxxxx ♣x ♠AKxx ♥AQxxx ♦J ♣AQJ 1♥-2♦ 2♠-3♦ 4♦!-4NT 5♦-7♦ 7NT
  16. All red, teams: (Pa)-Pa-(1♥)-1♠ (1N)-X-(Pa)-2♦ (Pa)-3♦-(3♥)-Pa Pa-??? ♠xx ♥xx ♦ATxxx ♣Kxxx What's your call?
  17. I'm playing the opening leader for the queen.
  18. Say you teach students that: 1♥-(1♠)-2♠ shows 11+ with a heart fit instead of 1♥-(1♠)-3♥ (which then can and will be used to show a weak hand with an extra fitting heart). Even though they know this both students continue playing 1♥-(1♠)-3♥ as showing 11-12, even though both have agreed and discussed that the sequence will show a weak hand and the cue-bid the limit + hand. In fact, having just discussed it they will both bid it and alert it as 11-12, afterwards laughing at how they made the same mistake which wasn't such for they were in the same wave-length. How would you call and treat this problem? Both players committing the same mistake from different perspectives and thus getting it right.
  19. Say it goes on: (1♣)-1♠-(2♣)-2♦ (2♥)-2♠-(3♥)-???
  20. Your partner is not balanced. Your partner's hand is not NT oriented. Your partner doesn't have a 16-18 HCP's hand. Your partner does not have a 1NT overcall.
  21. All white, you dealt: ♠KJT643 ♥AK7 ♦A ♣AJ8 1♠-1NT* ? *Forcing Do you know what/where you want to play? What would 4♣/♦/♥ mean?
  22. MP's, w/r: ♠QT ♥xxx ♦AQJ97432 ♣--- 1♣-1♠-2♣-? What's your overall plan?
  23. 1NT-3♥ shows at least 9 cards in the minor and sing or void in hearts (and a GF hand). If partner bids 3NT he's got good stoppers, otherwise s/he bids something else. However if partner doesn't have wastage in hearts we probably belong to 6...
  24. I win in dummy and play a heart to my King. If this wins I go for two diamond ruffs in dummy. If it loses I'll have to play for ♥Qx and ruff only one diamond.
