1. 5♥. I'm tempted to bid six but I can't believe our vulnerable opponents don't have 2 tricks in defense. Maybe they just have quite the fit in spades (11? 12?) and distribution but I don't want to risk it. 2. It's a difficult decision especially taking the vulnerability into account. If we pass we plan to pass partner's expected negative double but we're not getting rich at these colours. If we bid NT is 1 the best level to describe our strength? I choose 1NT but I'm not very happy.
Red, teams: ♠A9xx ♥xxx ♦xx ♣AQJx 1♦-1♠ 4♠-??? 1♦-1♠ 2NT-3NT 4♣-??? In the first sequence partner showed 18-19 with 4-card support, in the second 18-19 balanced, 4-card support and a club control (which has to be the King). Do you move forward?
Double. A negative double. You don't want them to play 2♦ and you want partner to be part of the decision. You can play in any strain. Also, some people play the double here to show 3-heart support. That's a convention called support-double. Finally, 2♠ would be a reverse. It would be even better to pass for our hand is minimum in HCP's. But I recommend double for those few HCP's are very well placed and we want to compete.

Club lead to the Ten and King and diamond back, taken in dummy, spades, west threw a club and west a diamond, diamonds, club finesse, on the club ace east lets go of a heart, Heart king and another.
Both red, imp's: ♠AK65 ♥Kxx ♦Ax ♣AJTx ♠QJx ♥AT975 ♦KQx ♣xx You play 6♥ on the ♦J lead. On the ♥K, west drops the J, how do you play trumps? Also, what if you played 6NT from the same side, received a club lead and played everything else and got to the same decision in hearts on the twelfth trick:
I think the right question was asked by Zelandakh: How do you set up spades as trumps and 'force' partner to cue-bid? East held: ♠9xx ♥J9xx ♦AJT ♣Txx Some Easts bid 1NT over the double (and over that I guess 3♠ or even 2♠ sets up the trump suit), but some bid 1♠, is 4♣ a splinter which sets spades as trumps and asks partner to cue-bid?
