This is the kind of treatment (I mean 2NT for both Majors) that goes along with 'Stayman doesn't go out before 8 o'clock' (it sounds better in Spanish) and the reason why some LOL's are amazed when I put down dummy on a 2M contract with 7 or less HCP's after a 1NT opening. It's not that bad an agreement when you only stayman to invite to game or better...

I don't have the right to spend all the money I make on the things I might like abroad. I can only spend $400 a year on the internet, who can I complain to? When Key-card came into vogue it started as 03-14. After a while someone said 14-03 was better. Some better pairs used 14-30 except when clubs were the trump suit, which kept the 03-14 response. Then someone came up with Kick-back, and well that doesn't matter. The thing is that I thought 14-03 was standard at the moment but I've been told that a lot, almost all, players in BBO use the old version, why's that?

Some people play the 2NT response to stayman as showing 4 cards in both Majors and a maximum of HCP's.

Why did South deny a King? (6♠ means no outside King, right?). Anyway South might have something like: AKQJxxx Jx x Jxx Well probably that hand would just jump to 4♠, but anyway I give some blame to South, 80% North 20% South or maybe 70-30.

So if you don't play the same system what do you play? Just natural?

If you play (as I do) that 1♣-1♦-X shows the same number of cards in both Majors (precisely to cater against this sort of problem) then you know you have a fit in hearts. If you don't play that at least you have to try and anyway partner would probably bid 5♣ (or 4♠) in case he didn't have a fit for hearts. Anyway, would partner try for slam with ♠A and ♥AK after 4♥?

I also thought about 3♦ but I think that will take us too often to 3NT when it can't be made.That's what I bid over 3♣ if I choose not to pass but I don't like my choices if partner bids 3♠.

So, let's say I open 1♣ with a balanced 17+ hand. Partner transfers: a. To a Major: and even though I have 3-card fit I'd like to know if we have 4-4 in the other major, do I bid NT? Is the same NT structure on (stayman, transfers, etc)? Even over 2NT? b. To a Major: and I have no fit. I bet 1NT for 17-19, but is the NT structure on (stayman, etc)? What about over 2NT? Can 1NT or 2NT be limitless once partner has shown a positive hand? c. To a minor: and even though I have or not fit I want to find a 4-4 or 5-3 in a Major, 1NT or 2Nt as above? Same structure on?

Also, what about 1♣ 2♥?

I pass. Partner should re-open and then I guess I'd bid 3NT over his double.
