  1. I'd bid the hand the same as the LOLs at the club.
  2. This was a long time ago, before vacation, so I don't remember the whole hand very well. You have to bid 3♠ to get a good score on the board.

But they won't let me sit in my boxer shorts at an NABC =p
  4. I don't know why I would try a 6-? club fit at the 3 level when I have a 5-3 heart fit that I can play in 2. 2♥/sit for me.
  5. All red, IMPs ♠T8642 ♥J98763 ♦3 ♣7 (p)-1♦-(p)-p (2♣)-p-(p)-? The point of this post is to see what people bid after this start. Obviously the first pass was silly so feel free not to mention that when responding.
  6. definitely 3♠ now, probably on the previous round too
  7. 3♥ is forcing, Double then 3♥ is not forcing
  8. glen: Your system's biggest problem by far is that (assuming youre in the ACBL) it is illegal in anything less than a 12-board mid or superchart event. Therefore you probably won't get to practice it as much as you'll need to develop good evaluating skills for your nonstandard auctions. Aside from that, I would think you'd get poor results from all of your 2-level openings since they are so vague as compared to most other systems (and youre higher), and these strike me as incredibly common hands.
  9. What do you do on (13)(45) ? I think you would get poor results from opening (13)45 2♣ if the clubs aren't very strong, since it sounds like your 2♣ otherwise would show 6. We do something similar (our 2♦ opener shows xx5+4+, x<4), but we could open 1♦ on the (13)(54)s.
  10. Well, hopefully the match was long enough that the opponents had plenty of time to make other ignorant decisions, allowing you to win? Was from a semifinal match in a regional bkt 1 ko; opps were nearly perfect over 24 boards. In the 1st half we lost on two boards (this and a lose 6) and gained on none.
  11. I passed. Lose 5 -- the other table balanced and opps got to 3♠-1
  12. My preference: 1. 4-card raise. I think distinguishing between 3-card (cuebid) and 4-card (2NT) raises is more important than being able to show a natural 2NT, which can (with potential issues) go through double. 2. 4-card raise. Same reasons as (1) 3. 4-card raise. I like making very light 1-level overcalls, so there's little need for a natural 2NT. If I'm not playing xfer advances I like using this as a 4-card limit+ raise and the jump cue as a mixed raise. A non-jump cue would show only three card support. 4. 4-card raise. Same reasons as (2). 5. Natural. Here partner has shown a good hand, and we have few other invitational options. 6. Natural. Unlike (1) and (2), there's no other route to a natural 2NT here other than 'bid it now'
  13. The result of the board is that partner has a 10 count with Ax clubs, and 2♣ was all-passed at the other table, making two. 3NT is makable but won't necessarily make. I think had I held this hand I woulda bid 3NT since I feel I'd have overcalled on KQxxxx and an Ace, but I can understand the other calls. 2NT = +120/+150 (win) 3NT = +600/-100 (win/lose) 3♣ = -100 (lose)
  14. I would probably just throw the moldy one out but eat the others.
  15. To clarify the OP, a 3♠ bid here would normally show 3, so if double means something other than penaltyish, then Hx seems like a good spade holding to have for such a double.
  16. All white, BAM ♠Qx ♥xx ♦KJ ♣AQ9xxxx 2♣-(2♥)-2♠-(3♥) ? 2♣ = precision, shows 6+, denies a 4-card major 2♠ = F1, 5+ cards
  17. Both Vul, BAM ♠xx ♥Kxx ♦Ax ♣KQxxxx p-(1♠)-2♣-(p) 2NT-(p)-?
  18. Both Vul, IMPs ♠x ♥Kxxxx ♦Kxxxx ♣xx (p)-p-(1♣)-p (p)-?
  19. xxxxx x xx xxxxx all red imps (1♣)-1♥-(1♠)-p (2♣)-4♦-(p)-?
