Some people playh 2♣-2♦-3M = diamonds and 4 in the bid major. That would be good for this hand. Otherwise I'll open 1♦, as I will have trouble showing x46+x after a 2♣ opener
Like some of the other posters I assume we are not playing 2/1 GF since pass is a poll option. I'l pass, I don't see a plus score coming from this hand, and we're vul.
Let's say I want to work on declarer play with a student. I could prepare deals, but that is very time consuming. I could use the bridgemaster deals, but that costs more than I am willing to pay in this case. Is there another way using existing BBO features to get the student to declare as much as possible?
IF RHO is 4126 or 4135 with the ♦K we can just ruff a club and draw trumps, which squeezes him. Aside from that I don't see a way to make the hand if RHO has 2+ diamonds and only one heart, unless that heart is the jack. Neither of these are as good as my original line.
♣A, ♥AQ, ♠AKQ pitching a club, ruff 4th spade, ♥K, cash high clubs, ruff last club. If at any point LHO ruffs in while playing clubs, he will be endplayed in diamonds if he started with 3-4 spades and the ♦K.
I think a large number of people would find hands where one table is beating another because of bidding system boring. The goal of a TV show would be to hook people after only a few minutes. It's a challenge to just explain the basic rules in a few minutes, let alone try to explain artificial bids.
One possible explanation, that has been speculated in this case, is that a team of (at least mostly) women doing well in open events would be a good thing for bridge. Can anyone think of other possible explanations? I was wondering the same thing.
9. Pass, ace-empty is the worst suit to preempt since if there is a misfit, the opps often can't make a suit contract either due to ruffs. 10. 3♥, accepting, showing 5 heats
