Interesting options for bidding 4S. As a bit of a traditionalist, I would want to have a card outside spades to not bid 4S over 1H.

I'd have passed 3NT immediately! So plenty of food for thought for me in the other replies.

I'd disagree that the opponents haven't bid clubs. Oops -- missed that. I'd still bid 3NT, though. I have a difficult time asking if partner or my LHO have a stiff honor. Ken, we are now on the same page.

I voted 3NT. I'm not confident opposing AKQJx in clubs. 'wtp' - bit offensive. Our spades are very good. Why shouldn't his clubs be very good. Our expert bidding is not very subtle it seems.

Willing to play 5H. I like to pass on the bad hands.

Very interesting. I would definitely play oppo for 3532 or similar and play the partial elimination in clubs rather than 33.

Pass I'd feel fine about opening. But I think I have bid my hand to the full.

Personally, I think I'd want to cue after the support double, to emphasise diamonds, and create some space to find out about hearts.

Interesting discussion. I opted for natural, and it didn't occur to me that it was 'forward going', far less 'forcing'. For me it says, you wanted us to risk playing in 4S and I'm telling you we are risking playing in 5C. The passed hand thing is too far fetched for me.
