  1. 5H. 7-suit to AKJ. This is unexpectable suit to believe partner expecting a 12-count, 5-suit saw the offensive potential. Besides they may still sac 5S ..NOT.
  2. As I play partner's max-pass cannot have long spades. 3NT with no other considerations.
  3. Will they take an insurance sac over 6D? DK captured < 50% But add some tret for phantom 6H sac. I try it.
  4. Which path shows a moose? Pass then 4S or immediate 4S, I choose that path.
  5. When double is restricted to only mundane distributions, not 5-5, 6+suit, not 5440, pass is acceptable as best shot for plus. My partnership does restrict double.
  6. 2C for lead. Get 2S in next if I'm allowed.
  7. Double. Really hoping they run to 4D. Pay off if they sit.
  8. I think I have an extra trick for just a 4H bid. Ie. Over 1H, this is GF. Clue partner with 5C, (or 4NT=Romex H-raise slam try). He knows how solid his suits are and I suggested slam. Win MP if 6H on; hope tie 11 tricks if 5H.
  9. 5H. Best guess here is 4-support suggests offense. Besides sometimes they go 5S giving me another shot.
  10. Without weak 2 doesn't mean without a meaning for 2D,2H,2S replacing 5-11, 5-6 suit. What is proposed for that replacement? As 'fred' noted a particular replacement. Now I can see a real discussion.
  11. IMMEDIATE splinter no. But 2C with a delayed splinter fits my message on this hand.
  12. Yea, Ken, rethink Stayman 2C as xfer to D, follow-ups show 4cM(s)/real D.
  13. Modify Michaels so that the MM verses 1m /Mm vs. 1M bid is a jump 2M. Now cue is cue. Eg. <1c> 2h =5-5MM, but 2c freed; <1h> 2s =5s5m, 2h freed. Even an artificial 2-other minor overcall as arbitrary strong force(+other cases) could work.
  14. Partner says "our hand, our hand". I guess we have 5C or defend 3H-X decision. Only DA is defensive here, so I vote 5C direct or 4H-splinter if that is our agreement. If partner thinks his 4H-6C is misfit, I dispel that.
  15. Yea, 1H. Upside to get H-lead, scare off 3NT. Down side small as I'm at the 1-level.

    Lead

Spade x. Delay critical lead decision/guess often.
  17. Not in 1H are hands where opener can bid to show which Q/J are wanted. Eg. 2C =S+C so only single/void in red or red A is valuable, but any black honor. Raise on 4-7 adjusted.

    Smith

I like Smith iff declarer has shown two suits. Then we need (generally) only one count signal, so second is Smith. Count and count when only one suit has been revealed. Essentially ask what does 2nd count add vs known 2-suiter. Rarely any new, so 2nd signal nearly always freed.
  19. I'm about to be pressed on a S-run, even 3-suit squeezed maybe, endplayed to lead into which tenace? What do I hope partner has? I guess CQ, so I lead CK. Have I just sold the farm?
  20. With only CK over opener, I expect all partner's tenaces/quacks to be under opener. So even half the deck won't be taking 7+ tricks. Then to avoid 3D on partner's choice to reopening double. Pass this one.
  21. Has anyone tried GoLady 2C with Toddler 2D responses to 1M? (Colin Ward e-files) Seems a fit check(GoLady) with a side suit check(Toddler) is just what is needed here.
  22. Yup, looks as opponents guessed wrong. Would love Clubs 6313 and partner with S-A for X-3 and some Q's in the wash still. Risk -4 IMP (550-400) rare; for +2 (100-50) rare; or +5 (300-100) common; or +8 (500-150) often; even a match-swing bonanza is possible.
  23. Which warns no H-stop? Immediate 3NT or X then 3NT? Esp without spades, want 3NT if stop, else 4m/5+m.
  24. I like Amsbury JO to 1C-artificial: WJO sits X; 1444 redoubles; 5-5 bids one of 2-known suits. Add Paradox-like responses(pass/correct raises).
