  1. There is no such thing as "left-over chocolate". There's only chocolate that hasn't been eaten yet. mmmm, chocolate pizza?
  2. Go to store and buy bacon, pistachios, & avacados?
  3. No, he was not. This (Larry's) hand was the 1♣ opener and the NT rebidder. The 1st hand given was his partners hand and the hand that bid 1♦ and then said it couldnt bid 2♥ over 1N as it would be a "reverse".
  4. Why did you choose to rebid 1N instead of 1♥? As long as you realize that 1D does not deny a 4 card major in this style and show your four card major when you have one (after 1C-1D), this situation will not occur. jmoo.
  5. Why did I bid 1♠ instead of making a forcing (GF if possible) bid in our known nine card fit?
  6. To a bot, a double negative means a positive. :D
  7. Why is it relevant to other auctions where GIB thinks its partner has shown 28+ (whatever) points, and not specific to only auctions where GIB's partner has opened 3N (or 2N or even 1N)?
  8. Not a Star Trek fan? I'm inclined to believe that its Prime Directive was a good idea.
  9. Setting: Money Bridge, 1/2 cent table, vulnerable. Auction: 1♦-(1♠)-p-(2♠)- 3♦*-(X)-p**-(p)-p *dumb bot **dumber me for believing bot has will have some semblance of its explanation of bid. 3D explained as 6+ diamonds, 16+ hcp. Dumb bot: void KJ10x KQ9xx AQxx 3♦?? What happened to a normal double of 2♠?? Result: -1100
  10. Other players are faster than you and can finish a hand in less than a minute! That wasn't hard to explain. I must just get the slow bots (not to mention the dumb ones as well).
  11. It won't? 3NT we pass, 4♣ or 4♦ we bid 5♣, 4♥ we bid 4♠, 4♠ we pass.... I think I'm covered! If partner manages to find a 4♥ call, should I really bid 4♠?
  12. I'm confused. He opened 1♣ and you lead a club anyway thinking that 1♣ was a normal bid. So you are saying that had the bid been alerted and explained as 1♣ was artificial, you would have led something else? You would have done something different in the auction? Anyway, yes, the bid is legal. Unless it can be shown that the opposing pair had an agreement otherwise, the table result stands. Even if that can be demonstrated, unless you can show that you were damaged in someway by the failure to alert, no adjustment will be made (it's hard to tell without knowing the final contract and result). I do not think you will be able to show damage as it would appear that you still made the best lead for your side. At worst, opponents should be warned to alert/explain their bids properly. Maybe a procedural penalty if this had occured with them before (but that does not appear to be the case). Then again, I am not a director and could be totally off base.
  13. Why did I bid 1N forcing when I have what appears to be a perfectly normal spade raise? (fwiw, I would correct to 4♠ now, and kick myself for not bidding 2♠ initially).
  14. Ken obviously has waaaayyyy too much free time on his hands.
  15. And I bet it took you more than a minute to do so. I frequently see positive scores (1430, 620, 590, 140, etc.) and one minute has not elapsed off the clock. The clock still says 25 minutes. Explain that.
  16. From the "Believe It Or Not" series, the maximum score for the declaring side is 3160 for 1N vul. xx'd making 7. This appears to be a fluke in the scoring table, since 1N not vul xx'd making 7 does not outscore the non-vul grand slam xx'd. Vulnerable redoubled undertricks are a real bummer. 7 anything vul xx'd down 13 is a whopping -7,600, while down 6 vul xx'd nets a healthy 3400. Ouch. Still a nice result for you though. :(
  17. It has been my experience that these scores are usually positive (sometimes negative), and I do not recall ever seeing a zero score.
  18. So, what you're saying is that with nothing in clubs, nothing in diamonds, and nothing in hearts, we are also going to find declarer with nothing in spades? Yea, in your dreams.
  19. I'll take "American Music That Fluffy Has Never Heard Of" for 2000, Alex.
  20. Last chance for a comeback?? Knowing the result at the other table, this cracks me up. :) (X)
  21. #2, correct, Wish You Were Here. #5 also correct. Don't ask why I know. http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/2715/picture001tuu.jpg http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/1933/picture081f.jpg http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/1890/picture075g.jpg http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/4411/picture050p.jpg

Chong: Feels like dog *****. Cheech: Smell!!! Chong: WHAT? WHHHEEWWW Cheech: What dat smell like? Chong: Smells like dog *****. Cheech: Taste!! Chong: HUH?!? Cheech: TASTE!!!! Chong: (gags) Cheech: What it taste like? Chong: UGH, tastes like dog *****. Cheech: Must be dog *****. Good thing we no step in. Chong: Yea, good thing. (From either Cheech & Chong or Big Bambu, Cheech & Chong, ~ 1971/72) That reminds me. I still have the original album "Big Bambu" and the original rolling paper that came with it. I wonder how much it would sell for on eBay? (just checked. not enough)
  23. What is a trick question? They had zero #1 hits on the U.S. Billboard charts. They did have some in other countries/on other charts, but I can't find how many. I actually knew the answer before using Google to try to found out how many they had outside of the US. The local radio station does a trivia contest each morning and this was one of the recent questions.
  24. Who is Salman Rushdie? (What was "The Satanic Verses?")
