  1. Seems "let's be nice" words doesn't exist in all vocabularies. Mikeh picked to cross the line. You better stop lecture and focus the hands i presented. May like or dislike. You may feel yourself superior than many others or even top #1 of world . That's your dream and your problem, but not mine. I don't care your funny stories. That's just monkey biz,
  2. Allright Mikeh. if balanced 5 HCP and 3 pieces ♠ confused try this one. Good luck. Who knows as you said they may not find killing ♥ lead vs 1NT. C'est la vie. [hv=d=n&v=n&n=saqj64hk32d32ck42&w=sk83ht87dqjtcqj65&e=s72hqj9dak965cat3&s=st95ha654d874c987]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv]
  3. Say you have no agreement about doubling one ♠ opening call auto offers 4 pieces ♥ and you doubled as takeout thinking that you can live with a Moysian fit, lefty passed. Your partner bid 1NT. Declarer passed. Now what? In this scenario would you feel yourself comfortable to play any level NT contract or set ♦s as trumps? Double then new suit is 17+ HCP on your system card or not? Which one is suitable for you? Still t/o X of this problem good idea or a simple and natural 2♦ overcall with 14 HCP, denied 4 pieces ♥; maybe a high card of ♠ maybe not. [hv=d=n&v=n&n=saqt64ha32d32ck42&w=sk83ht87dqt8cqj65&e=s72hqj9dak965cat3&s=sj95hk654dj74c987]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] Have fun! You've 9 tricks in NT contract but before you get it they found best defense and scored 7 tricks. Shucks, laydown 2♦ +1 there. Rotten luck? What a complete joke :D
  4. Nothing wrong about ACBL on BBO tournaments. Well planned. Just sit at home, log on BBO and play an individual ACBL sanctioned GIB tournament. You may not find an individual contest at every bridge club. No need to worry about finding a partner or transportation problem. Besides GIB gives you new ideas. Good for ACBL members regularly adding such masterpoints to your account. Ideal especially for oldies. Enjoy. That's the cheapest fun :D ps. I also strongly recommend 18 boards in 55 minutes for people who care to improve. Registry bonus is a wonderful idea rarely seen in STACs or Regionals. Yesterday finished as 3rd, earned BBO masterpoints also 2$ bonus for registry. Cool, tyvm Rain ♥ :)
  5. ♠AKJTxxx ♥AKQTx ♦x ♣- 2♣ because 1.5 losers, eliminates pass by partner risk. With 7 cards and only ♠Q loser if there's a ♥ fit also welcome and not hard to find after 2♣>2♦(waiting);2♠ then to 3♣ or 3♦ simply use natural 3♥ rebid. Another advantage there are 9 even 10 quick winners after a ruff and knocked out ♠Q with dropped ♥ J , so just establish spades as trumps. Safer to ruff with long suit.
  6. [hv=d=s&v=n&n=sqjt7hq92dkqcaq86&w=sk98654h7dj9ct732&e=s32hk864dt832ckj5&s=sahajt53da7654c94]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] Say the same contract failed at the other table a wise line of play may worth 17 IMPs. ♣A, ♠A, ♦K, ♠Q and discard losing ♣. Ruff to next ♣. Enter table with a ♦. Run 9 of ♥ which holds. Play the 2 of ♥ to ten when lefty discards. Ruff a ♦ to table. Play Jack and ten of ♠. So you catch East in a trump coup :) Say after ♠K West plays a ♦ rather than a ♣, then after running 9 of ♥ declarer must ruff a ♣. After that can ruff a ♥ can ruff a ♦ and would arrive same ending. Okay in actual layout ♥Q would also works for th same money. But now ♥Q not a good idea ! [hv=d=s&v=n&n=sqjt7hq92dkqcaq86&w=sk98654h7dj9ct732&e=s32hk864dt832ckj5&s=sahajt53da7654c94]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv] Neat lesson, could cost expensive a lot in case careless line :)
  7. I think 8 of spades at 1st trick really good. Maybe Cyberyeti would explain what if small spade played. [hv=d=n&v=n&n=s82hq74dq85ckt873&w=skqt764ht93da2cj5&e=s9hj862dk764cq964&s=saj53hak5djt93ca2]399|300|Scoring: IMP[/hv]
  8. I forgot who said "Failure is only a temporary change in direction to set you straight for your next success." When things went wrong have you ever tried to exchange partners in team :P Good luck. ps. I assume there's no emotional conflicts.
  9. [hv=d=n&v=n&n=s82hq74dq85ckt873&s=saj53hak5djt93ca2]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] As previous 40 years ago problem posted on same section seems not solved perhaps people may try this one. Your 1NT intervened with 2♠ natural single suited by West. Partner bid 3♣. East passed. But when you land into 3NT righty changed his mind and doubled. ♠K led. As followed general principles of unblocking the eight, east contributed with the nine while you ducked. Now West switched ♥ ten, won in hand. Played a ♦. East won with the K. Played a ♥. So obviously ♠ are 6-1. After winning in the hand did exit with another ♦. West won with his Ace and sent to ♥ Q. Do you feel you are nearly at home?
  10. [hv=d=s&v=n&n=sqjt7hq92dkqcaq86&s=sahajt53da7654c94]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] Uncontested 6♥. Lead : 7 of ♣
  11. Wait a minute please. [hv=d=s&v=n&n=sak65h53dcak98762&w=sjt742h986da64cq3&e=s9hqt742dkqt95ct5&s=sq83hakqdj8732cj4]399|300|Scoring: Total Points[/hv] Did you mean with this layout GIB is unable to find the best contract? Is GIB able to see I've 15 or 13 balanced ?
  12. [hv=d=s&v=n&n=sak65h53dcak98762&w=sjt742h986da64cq3&e=s9hjt742dkt985ct5&s=sq83hakqdqj732cj4]399|300|Scoring: Total Points[/hv] Uncontested 1♦-1♠ :) 1NT-2♣ :D 2♠-3NT  4♠ AP (10 tricks taken +420) Adios 7♣ ;) Seriously, I don't want to jump any quick conclusion, however, what's goin' on there please?
  13. Hold your mouse over the bid, but don't click on it, and the meaning will pop up in a second or so. Are you referring to the Windows interface, or the Web interface, or both? I tried your suggestion in the Windows interface and no matter how long I hovered the mouse over the bid prior to clicking no explanation popped up. I tried your suggestion in the Web interface but I could not even figure out how to create a teaching table with Gib sitting only in the North seat. I expect I am missing something obvious. Windows. GIB bids different in same hands.
  14. No you don't, there are lots of free cards that have reward programs that give you cash back. They are very easy to find. Huh? We are talking about someone who was going to pay cash for something. If you are paying $100 cash for something but you put it on your credit card instead then you can afford to pay off the balance because you have the $100 cash you didn't use. I bet he knows what happens in real life-- people get that credit card and they don't think of it in terms of "pay it off each month", they can't help but charge things that they would not normally buy with pure cash. Plus credit cards are almost never free-- first you have to have great credit to qualify to get one (most don't) and second the moment that you don't pay the full balance, you pay interest, sometimes very high interest. His method can work, but *only* for those with excellent credit who also pay the entire balance every month, and only with credit cards that charge no yearly or monthly fee. That might be 5% of the population :D
  15. Sorry ? Is not it a bad way for most people ? First, you pay a yearly and/or monthly fee for credit cards. Second, most people cannot afford to pay off the full balance. They might have good intentions, but in the end too many get into trouble and end up with large balances that they can never pay off.
  16. Well amigo, great :) In USA i prefer to pay cash for fuel. In case paid by card a bit expensive. (for example : 2.46 cash and 2.55 with card for regular). Seems you are rich than me  Suerte
  17. Hola Gonzalo :) Perro que no camina, no encuentra hueso. Haz el bien, y no mires a quién. Suerte,Hamdi
  18. There two winds are ever, by strong necessity.
  19. You're welcome. I hope as you posted. That would be also fair in case your idea correct.
  20. Sorry? How about to read your post-mortem for "Board 5, How to bid 6N and avoid 6D" ? 52 cards posted there.
  21. ! gwnn will be ecstatic. Thanks for th input. Oh, how careless I'm, why I do that. Perhaps old habits die hard. Why people play on BBO from USA not sensitive for such very very small things ? English isn't their parent language? Don't they send and receive messages? Believe or not, real life senior bridge friends here (SC. USA) giggle to such attitudes by some BBF attendants. Well, however, good technical review about 6NT. :D
  22. Maybe sometime you or somebody present a "GIB bug", so I can learn a new thing. 2S ok. Did you care probability? S division at table was 3-3 6 cards 3-3 36% 4-2 48% 5-1 15% 6-0 1% Can anyone tell that in general GIB likes to walk around 30-36% to pick trump contracts?
  23. [hv=d=w&v=b&n=sa432hk432dt83c64&w=skq9h96d65cajt752&e=st86hqj875da74cq8&s=sj75hatdkqj92ck93]399|300|Scoring: Total Points[/hv] p-p-p-1d 2c-x-p-2d p-2h AP 5 tricks taken -300! When opponents hold Division Probability 7 cards 4-3 62% 7 cards 5-2 30.5% 7 cards 6-1 7% 7 cards 7-0 0.5% Why GIB dislike 2♦ ?
  24. To 1eyedJack: No personal attack or name calling, childish sarcastic approach, either cheap rant or ravings intended. I'm old enough :P Sorry, I guess your and mine norms are different. I'm sure Math is an universal science. How about to inspect the problem with that perspective? 1H Pass 1S<2NT> .......12+6 = 18 <still 20-21> ? or 1H Pass 2H <2NT>.............ditto......... or 1S Pass 1NT <2NT>............ditto........ Mind share how you read this sequence? 1NT(15-17) pass pass <2NT> ? Natural 20-21 or UN2NT? If I got correct you think when both opps bid that makes a difference. Well, i recognize different. Either one or both bids doesn't matter to me. Because mathematically there's a total count of their side. Maybe, I'm lucky and you've a software able to calculate either natural big or UNUSUAL 2NT probability higher to occur. Thanks. ps. Assuming English is your parent language please tolerate my grammar errors. 2nd language here.
  25. Sorry, could happen as you thought. Let me repeat my concern posted on caption : Board 5, How to bid 6N and avoid 6D ?
