one of the very first systems i ever learned was called "more or less" and bidding was based on the number of face cards, 0-16, disregarding high points entirely. it was a blast, but most opponents hated it, go figure.

colder in germany - average summer temp is only 19C *brrr*

i'm a notoriously poor opening leader, so i worry for all you who are also leading the spade
-
if anything, i could use an excuse to put on a tie more often.

How can you sympathise with someone taking a double shot? If he makes his contract, everything is fine, but if he goes down, he'll claim he'd bid differently... You get 1 shot, not 2  i read halo's post as sarcasm. had i been NS i would have just called the TD myself. i've been bitten by this too many times, and i've found that being the player to call the TD for my own infractions usually makes the mood of the table far more enjoyable - some opps just don't want to cause a hassle and won't call at all when they should.

we play something similar: over any natural and inviting 2NT, 3x shows a "trouble" suit it's been far more successful than we'd originally imagined

the laws allow for the sponsoring organization to "[require] that both members of a partnership employ the same system (such a regulation must not restrict style and judgement, only method)."

very interested in hearing how this develops -
You must play them pretty well B) Looks like you are stealing a trick in all those diamond contracts. 11 easy tricks on a ♠ lead, otherwise I'm forced to lead low to the J♣ asap and hope for the best

ubuntu gutsy, wine 9.4.7, gecko engine, and symbol.ttf no changes to ini settings up and running first try, no issues, no lag, no disconnects mind you, this machine is quite a bit more powerful than the last one i was using which probablyl explains the lack of lag more than anything else

perhaps the powers that be should start including a "top 5 forum posts" in the in-game ad rotations

last night I was able to stay connected from a Vista machine on the same network, so this morning I tried it again from my main machine (Ubuntu/Firefox) and it seems to be keeping the connection fine. *shrug* not sure if it's something you did, or me (I don't honestly think I did anything...) but it seems to be "fixed"

I wasn't able to try this out until just recently, but I'm experiencing the same issue as cherdano. in a span of about 30 minutes I was disconnected well over a dozen times, and was only able to witness about 1.5 full hands collectively in that time. I have no issues connecting with the windows client from the same machine.

I believe it's called a 'snapdragon' double.

OS X version 10.4.9 for dummies
scoob replied to inquiry's topic in Support for Bridge Base Products
I can't give you any direct help, having not touched a Mac in years, but there is a version of Wine for Mac OS X: http://sourceforge.net/projects/darwine/ presumably you can install that and then refer to the ongoing wine/linux/bbo thread?
