Isnt a split score possible? It is clear NS used UI. Which clearly isnt allowed. And of all possible actions they are therefore doomed to "take" the possible action which is lest favourable to them as their result. Ie probably some club contract. EW´s bad result is partly because of their own misdefending. Perhaps even misdefending on purpose, they probably understanding there was a UI. "Right guess I win, wrong guess they loose". or "Ate the cake but still have it left." But this isnt no bridge. This behavior isnt correct and thus they should stand their own fate. Ie I think NS should get a normal result from a club contract + the TD/jury/Law Commision should say some formal words of truths to them (notification? in english), whereas EW should get the result from this misdefended heart-game.

Why? If their plan is to try to kill of my trumphs he wont switch, he CANT switch, but must proceed to play on spades. He doesnt know anything about my club lengh. Of course declarer must have some luck, but I have seen worse defender mistakes done by decent players.

As I can see 5H can be made with some luck - provide you guess right in diamonds. The club-finesse is given. And it is apparent rightie has majority of the points. 3 spade ruffs with small hearts, 3 semibig hearts to draw out trumphs. And the rest can be played without trumph. This providing opps play the natural play of playing on spades. With open cards they CAN set by switch with clubs... :D So here we see an additional plus with bidding 5H: Rightie cant know my club holding. But if I D or bid 4NT, and after it get into 5H, a club swich is mandatory. One of the occasions when a single Kn is almost as good as an ace... ;)

Observe, when playing with pick up partners, it is usually OK to say openly in room chat which variation you play. Say asking Blackwood in a typical blackwood position 3041. Have seen this done frequently many times and occasionally did it myself. Havent met anybody minding.

We played WJ2005. N 1C W pass S 1H E pass, N 1NT (12-14NT) W D (unclear yet if TO or business) S 2C. In undisturbed auction is this 2C the Magister/Pro, ie a sort of NMF. But is it still Magister here after the D?? I think it should be natural nonforcing, as S with a strong hand can always RD. What do you say? A) you conneiseurs of WJ2005 B ) you Standard American NMF-players

I did once get one less then I should have in this position. so it can strike two-ways.

They being nonvulnerable makes sharp preemts more frequent. Ie the likelyhood of us sitting on the points is big. Ie one more argument against passing. I will probably bid 5H.

Zero tolerance isnt of course necessary for banning a purposefully rude behavior(er). Common sense is more then enough.

I agree new suit would be GF - often mild slameseeker. That said, I had met decent players who use new suit as merely good invite to GF. So this idea isnt that funny and therefore the question justifable. :huh:

ah, yes. This is a unnecessary bug. Another similiar is sometimes communications are blocked, say to the room. So you write perhaps a long comment, sends away - and appears to the kibitzers. Did I perhaps happened to have wrong adresse not noticing? Write again, again kibitzers... The usual during vugraph is communication with kibitzers is off - and messages come back! But sometimes you CAN communicate, and knowleable kibitzers can help the commentators with facts about the players or details about their system. In all these cases it would be swell if it stood clear from beginning the communication is blocked, so you dont need lose the time and energy to try to write the sometimes complicated message in no awail.

It happened me at least twice, - inclusive today: I want to thanks a partner who has already leaved. I seek up one of his messages and write the message to himher - and send. AND I see someone entirely else gets the message. Sitting in another rum and playing there. Also not even kibitzing. This I know for sure, todays table had admittance for kibitzers and I was host. No such was kibitz and in a couple of seconds went elsewhere. In both cases I remember I was going with the mouse over the left upper corner... (that is why the first time it happened I though it could be a possible kibitz instant ago who left while I wrote the message).

A good reason is to be able to look at two different matches simultaneously. Or both boards in the same match. Or even play yourself somewhere and look at a match. - the matches often maddening slow. (you need also two different computers).

Ah, but you can learn much by listening to intelligent people discussing system. You discover answers to ones old questions, and even solutions you didnt realised were possible... :) The difficulty is a) find the moment :wacko: find the right people to listen at... The reform would probably be really useful against these consistently slow pairs. Not all are calling for TD if the others are slow. Not all TD will take suitable measures against constistenly slow players. Here we do have an excellent solution, for the tournament as a whole. But taken to an individual board it wouldnt be necessary fair no.
