I hate doubling with a void. I would have bid 4S with your partner hand but its a matter of style as both X and 4S could easily lead to disaster. Instead of pass i might have bid 5S but im not sure. But after a possible 4S I wouldnt have passed with your partner hand since the 4S is surely bid on pts not on H shortness.

The only downsibe of my method is if opener is 44 in the M and responder has 4S but not 4H then responder will play the hand instead of opener. But if LHO has stiff A♣ and 3♦. We have KJ9,KJ8,KJ7,KJ6,K98,K97,K96,K87,K86,K76 for 10 combinations. So K? + A? is 3.5 times more frequent then K?? + stiff A. So unblocking the last spades & play for the endplay is quite inferior to ♦A and Diamond duck.

3S over 3H, after 4H ... i pass. X is tempting but i find the hand too light. Bidding 4S is simply bad imho. after 4H p,p im strong enough to X.

Even over 2S its a close decision for me so over 3S its a clear pass. Chance for penalty pass a very low IMHO and chance to go offboard non-negligeable.

The way I like is that mild slam are very specific hand that need 4 keycards (or 3 when playing weak Nt) to be accepted. So with north im going to make a real slam try. I think south with 3 keycards and the K of D has an easy accept.

My philosophy is if no serious health effect are provable or if no advantage can be proven don`t bother for a legislation.

complete nonsense When game is unlikely its much prefer to open a good 4M then a weak 3 card suit. It has nothing to do with rebids or 4441 shape or having 12 pts instead of 9. In 3rd seat lead directing is very important. AKQx xx Jxxx Qxx AKQx x xxxx Kxxx KJx AKQx xxx xxx These are all clearcut 1M opening in 3rd seat. Game is unlikely you can easily pass most responses by partner.

In IMPS 3 level bid after a raise are more often slam try then game try. Game try in imps = you bid game and you try to make it. So for me 4H would deny a keycard denies the Q of trumps or 4 trumps, denies the K of in my side suit. So i can easily pass 4H Bidding 4H instead of 3C is a bad bid unless you play drury with 8-9 pts.

I would have passed instead of 4H after 4S X I pass. without an initial 4H i would have save at 5H One thing is sure i would have thought of what to do after 4S X before bidding 4H. Bidding 4H without knowing what to do after 4S X is a bit inconsequent.

The best hand partner could have without a void and without point in H is QJxx x AQJx AQJx I think everything under is at best a borderline X. So I think its likely partner got some HCP in H. If partner got Kx we going to suffer a ruff. My experience tell me that opener is more likely to have a side A then AKQJT 8th or 9th. So i think the majority of hand wont have slams so i pass.

What i like is 2Nt----3C ??? 3D no M or 5S 3H-------4H may have 4S 3S-------4S 3Nt------5H 2Nt-----3C 3D------??? 3H asking for 5S or signoff in 3Nt 3S 5h+4S 3Nt 5S+4H This is slightly better then the romex where 3Nt show 4-4 in the M because it tend to give less lead directing After 1Nt there is much better stuff then Romex if you often open 1nt with 5M like we do.

S lead is better then the C lead because the C ace serve as an entry to cash a possible establish S but not vice-versa.

Inner movement is loss of energy for the full system. A can of sweet peas will go slower then a a empty can or then a full can of tomato paste because the individual peas in it move in all directions. So i guess its the same for Colas shaking will activate the bubble so there will be more bubbles movement so i think it will go slower.

Both. At first anti-clockwise but when Ive focus on the shadow she did go clockwise. To make switch watch the screen from a far distance and aproach. This is the way to make her switch. Also scroll the image until you only see the legs and no upper body this is guaranted to make her switch side. The anti-clock wise shadow is like a light near the floor. The clockwise shadow is with a normal light from above.

X here show bal 18-19 in my book. This is what i have and i have a safe lead. Partner will stand the double 95% of the times. Of course for these kind of problems we really need the vulnerability and if its MP or Imps. In Imps im not afraid of -180 when +500 is often available in mp if they are white double is very tempting because down 1 or 2 (+50 or +100) will probably be a bad result. Sometimes you can pray that they are in 1C making 1or 2 at the other tables (+70,+90) and try to set 1nt 2 tricks (+100) but defending a white 1Nt rarely pays off in MP X or not i expect the declarer to play double dummy anyway. When it goes 1C---pass---pass----1Nt all pass and i have a balance 12 pts with AQxx of clubs and my partner has a balanced 6 pts LHO has a 18-19 balanced 99% of the times.

1D is unbalanced so most of the time it has 5D or+. 4441,(31)45,(40)45 are the only shape without 5D. So responder will have an easy raise to 2D with Qxx ,xx ,Kxx, Qxxxx. With Qxx,Jxx,Kxx,Qxxx its border line between 1Nt & 2D IMHO (but i know most will say its a clear cut 1Nt) Partner with sub minimum or really scrap will bid 2S slow down. Everything else is GF. 2Nt is used to protect a holding like Kx & Qx and doesnt promise stoppers in both the unbid suits its also used for hands too strong for 3Nt. 3Nt would suggest a soft hand with minimal values but enough to play game. It should denies a nice fit in D (unless no ruffingpower). I think 3Nt is right on the spot for values (maybe a bit short) Kxxx is a vgood fit and usually with this holding 3D is the bid. But with such a soft hand i can understand 3Nt. Because a 3D bid might lead overboard. What used do you reserve for a jump 3Nt in similar auction ?

Im sure Txxxx AQ8x Kx Ax is much more likely then Txxxx AQ8x Kxx A or Txxxx AQ8x KJx A + you also have some slight chances of Txxxx AQ8x K Axx where he misdefended by not switching clubs.

I play 5C as exclusion for D. Something like Axxx Kx AKxxxxx void. I don't play fast arrival in a new suit .

Im not sure about the forced 2D vs almost forced 2D 1Nt---2C---2D forced or 1Nt----2D----2D (almost forced may have 4M & 5M) 1Nt----2C----2H (5H minimum) 1Nt----2C----2S (5S minimum) You can even add 1Nt----2C----2Nt (4S4H max) 1Nt----2C----3C (3253 or 2353 max) 1Nt----2C----3D (3235 or 2335) the downside is that you are sometimes going to play 3D instead of 2D but (often with a 10 card fit) or 4C instead of 3C (with an 11 card fit) but you can show a nice addition of hands. Because our 1M opening are never 5332 we are forced to open them 1Nt/1C so we really need the puppet stayman so we play the almost forced 2D. PS AWM do you get some lead directing X after 1Nt----2C----2D----2H(S inv) my feeling is not really since you play a strong nt and responder is at least inv and you can declare on both side to play a S game or a S partscore. Some sequence a suprinsingly immune to lead directing.

Just to make sure we are on the same wavelength. 1H---1S 2H---2S is INVitationnal not a pure pull-out. You dont pull partner out of 2H if you have no interest for game. + i you have a really long S with game unlikely you can bid a direct 2S over 1H (2-8) with H shortness 1H---1S 2H---3S become a relly serious INV (my prefererence is forcing but its a least a very serious INV) 1H---1S 2H---3m followed by 3S is 100% GF that is basic bridge 101 you dont pull partner 2H if you have no interest for game. + i you have a really long S with game unlikely you can bid a direct 2S over 1H

In a really expert partnership i would expect 2nt GB or be quasi-standard. But in a not-so clear expert casual ' its in case of doubt its forcing' rule apply for me.
