It's hard to fight an organization that is soaked in secrecy: http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2015/10/20/house-freedom-caucus-what-is-it-and-whos-in-it/

The fire department in my community of almost 100,000 is a private company. The problem we have is subscribing to the service is optional. That doesn't mean they won't put out a house fire if the owner hasn't paid the fee. It means they can charge the owner by the hour for their service. So naturally many "free loaders" roll the dice and don't subscribe. Those of us who do subscribe, pay higher and higher fees to keep the service available. If we all decided not to pay then there would be no fire department at all.

Anyone else watching the mini series "Mars" on National Geographic channel? Check it out. I'm finding it entertaining and educational.

Do all passwords need to be changed? I have a very long list. Should we only change passwords to financial and personal accounts? Probably a stupid question, but I really need some advice.

We live in a large unincorporated area and have private fire protection. There is only one company providing the service. Contracting with them is optional and many do not. This, of course affects the prices buyers pay for protection. They will respond to and fight all calls. If you do not have a contract, they bill you at an hourly rate, which is quite high. They have recently filed for chapter 13. This has many worried about the future of the company and future fire protection. To me, this is much like the health insurance industry. Those who buy health insurance pay higher premiums for those who do not.

I guess I'm a lurker. I enjoyed reading the thread and thought the subject was very interesting but did not contribute. I hope it is opened again because I think the topic is important to understand.

LOL Amazing that such simpletons are elected into office. Although, it might be kind of entertaining to see such an attempt.

Although it was not a regular series but a special 3 part series, Lonesome Dove was my favorite TV western. It still is one of my favorites. :)

Is it forcing? I found this article helpful. -

Good advice. I will ask the author if he objects to my giving out a link to the article. I believe it would be helpful to many bridge players on bbo. -
Opinion about an On line Artical

The site appears to be for a live bridge club. The subject of the article is forcing bids. There are a number of examples. The article has a copyright notation at the end. The copyright notation is what concerns me. -
well, I have seen invisible people kibbing, but their ID's have a different look....kind of faded, but this person's ID has the same appearance as all the other kibbers (except my friends of course)and the faded ID's.

One ID on my friend's list does not show up in color on the "who's on line" list. (web bbo version) I can see the ID when we kibitz the same table. If I click on the ID it then changes color and moves to the top of the "who's on line" list with my other "friends". Has this person marked me as an enemy?

I like this new series. However, not sure I can endure another program like Lost. But so far it has kept my interest.

"jump in and play many, many, many hands. Pick a few bad hands to review using my hands. Compare your auction and play to a pair who scored well." I do this and in some cases it helps me see my mistakes as declarer. It is harder for me to see the correct line when the defense at my table is different than the other table's defense. I'm never sure to chalk it up to my bad play or my opponents's superior defense. :)
