  1. [x] you are right [ ] that helps to solve my question [ ] putting the correct cards would help to answer my question and make it easier to point out the important cards
  2. first 2♥ then 3♣ = spade fit, invit with some clubs, maybe: Kxxx - xx - Kx - KJxxx, with AJxxxx - xxx - Ax - Qx pd will upgrade his hand direct 3♣ = fit in both majors, maybe something like Kxx - Kxx - xx - KJxxx or so at least for me both should include major support, even if you are unpassed, if you are already passed, then its 100% with fit
  3. [hv=n=shkdkc63&w=s2h2d2c2&e=skqhadac&s=sajhdc54]399|300|[/hv] My father played this hand in a NT contract and when he played a low club to the dummy east got squeezed in 3 suits (with communication in the 4th) we also did not know how it was called, but my father was sure this was the first time he has seen this one maybe someone can help us
  4. Hi, what does a jump to 5NT mean for you in situations, where no fit has been found and 4Nt would be invitional to a small slam, for example: 1NT - 5NT or 2NT - 5NT or in my case in a polish club bidding: 1♣-3NT-5NT, 3NT is ballanced 13-15hcp with stoppers in majors but no 4 card suit is there a standard meaning, does anyone have a special agreement on this?
  5. BB: Winner: Italy 2nd: China Semi: USA2 - Norway 1/4: Poland, USA1, Ireland, Brasil VC: Winner: Netherlands 2nd: China Semi: France, Germany 1/4: USA1, USA2, England, New Zealand SB: Winner: USA2 2nd: Canada Semi: Germany, Denmark 1/4: France, USA1, Poland, Italy
  6. Hi thx for presenting us such a nice show. While the boards were broadcasted I was chatting to Pony Nehmert, a member of the German Women Team. As far as I know they won the ladies final that year and she was playing the same deals. May be it would be an idea to ask the women and seniors, who were in the finals 1995 too, if they can help commentating. So they maybe can tell us, what happend at their tables
  7. I play (learned) Leb this way: slow shows... the 4 card major! fast denies the 4 card major every 3nt bid shows a stopper and every cuebid in ops suit asks for s atopper so if you pass 3nt you always have a stopper (either after 2nt and after not bidding 2nt) and if your partner bids 3 in ops suits he asks you for a hold. in the case (2♠) - x - (p) - 3NT = I have no hold and no 4 card ♥ the NT is played by the wrong person if you play like I suggested the bidding would be (2♠) - x (p) - 3♠ - (p) - 3NT on the other hand, if the bidding goes: (2♠) - x - (p) - 2NT - (p) - 3♣ - (p) - 3!S - (p) - 3NT the NT will be played from the wrong side, but in most cases the X-bidder has also a 4 card ♥ suit so 4♥ will be the contract
  8. Hi, I somehow won 2 Spades, but as I saw the dummy I did not agree to partners bidding. club King was lead, I took and played a small heart. North won and played spade, this was ducked to my king. Than I played A of hearts and another heart, ruffed) than I played a small club and south ducked. I tried to ruff my last heart, south overruffed and played a club. I ruffed with the 8 and played spade. at the end south was endplayed in dias. But I think this was no good defense by N/S but I dont know, why all would bid with west's hand. If P has a good spade fit, than we can beat x NT, i have 2 side aces as entries. If not, we will go down (on good defense) and lose much if we get doubled. If pd has no spades we must play hearts, where I have A743... this is not the suit I want to play against xxx from partner. for me this hand is a clear pass.

    Strange match

yeah and don't forget the fair score, 15VP for us and 18VP for you because some boards could not be played )))) this evening could have ended worse
  10. my pd and me play something other that works very well 1m - 2M = 9-11 inv fitst 1M than 2M = non forcing (could be some real weak weak) fitst 1M than 3M = i want to play 4M or 3NT first 1M than use checkback => you treat your major as 5 cards and can still invite (usefull if you have 6 hearts and 4 spades and want to hear if your p has a spade fit) first 1M then use checkback and later jump into 3H = SI in hearts so wit all 6322 hand 9-11 you bid 2M directly, with all others you first bid 1M and listen to what your partner does
  11. E/W have bid 5♥, you have two cards, so if they have ONLY 10 cards your p has singe but he might have a heart void if ops have 11 cards in their suit.
  12. the question was not if this pass was forcing or not, the question was, if you may pass after pd's double when you bid your first pass as forcing pass - showing a slam try - or if you should bid something now my father had this hand, he played against other german star players and he passed the 5♥ bid as he was sure for him and his partner this IS a forcing pass situation. Our problem is the next bid after the double.
  13. [hv=d=s&v=n&s=sa954h62dakq94c107]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] You open 1♦ (promising 4+ cards in unbal. hands or 5+ cards) LHO 4♥ MHO 4♠ RHO 5♥ now you have many options but you pass at the table. This should be for sure a forcing pass, allowing your partner to bid his hand one more time LHO pass MHO dbl RHO pass what is your bid now? This hand was from a German first League match and I hope to hear, what others would do with this hand
  14. [hv=d=n&v=b&s=sak108hq7dkq6cak83]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] You open 1♣ (polish) showing a weak NT or some stronger hands, your passed pd 1♦ (=any 0-6 hand or some 7-11 hand with one or two minors) you have two possible bids now but can chose between 5 answeres to the poll a)100% 1NT showing 18 to bad 21 allowing your pd to pass or bid stayman/invit or transfers into all suits oder 3NT directly b)100% 2NT showing good 21 to 24 allowing your pd to bid major transfers, puppet stayman or 3NT directly c) I'm not sure but 1NT sounds better d) I'm not sure but 2NT sounds better e) I don't know what to do It was board 3 (vul/vul) (of 12) in a barometer teammatch and our team was leading by 13 IMPs.
  15. [hv=n=skjthkq4dkq93cqj7&s=sa98ha652datcakt3]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] Hi, you (south) are decl. in 7NT after a long bidding with your reg. pd. You have shown your good club suit and get a small club lead. At the table this board was boring because hearts split 3-3 but how do you try to play this board as safe as possible, is there a 100% safety play? thx, Tomi2
