  1. This form of end play will always work provided that - you have exactly 2 losers at the point of the throw in - you can cash winners ending in a hand with the throw-in card - that hand has an entry to the other suit In other words, just like a simple squeeze but with two losers instead of one. Refering to gnasher's 1st diagram: - What do you mean with entry to the other suit? Is it an netry to ♠ in that diagram? - Also: Only the hand that is thrown in should be have some control in both suits? If West has a Spade stopper then East takes Ace an returns a Spade. - And the hand that is trhown in should have no exit card in a 3rd suit. Thanks, Koen PS: Also tx to gnasher for his reply. PS2: The best player of the club was bye and kibitzing at our table. I had to try something special and it would have been great if it had worked. :) PS3: I thought Ben was specialized in these squeeze related things....Not sure if this was already covered in his articles. Maybe I should re-read them again. :)

  4. ...hope answers to this post will give me more inside in when playing for throw in and when finessing. [hv=d=s&v=n&n=sktxxhqjxxdkxxc9x&s=sqxhakxdaqxcaqjtx]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] Bidding is not really important for this post: 2♦!-2♠! 2NT-3♣! 3♥!-3♠! 3NT-4NT 6♣-6NT - 2♦ is multi and 2NT shows 22-24 HCP. Partners 2♠ sould show ♥'s (3 or 4 ♥ would have been better bid). 3♣ is kind of puppet and 3♥ denied a 4 card Major. 3♠ denied 5 card ♠ and 4NT was quantitative. - I played 6NT: LHO lead a small Heart. I took this with ♥Q (Hoped this would give a better chache to get no ♠ back if ♣K was wrong??). Now I let run ♣9 followed by a succesful finesse of the ♣Q. RHO did play high-low on the ♣'s and I can tell you he really had a 4 card ♣. My table feel also showed that RHO had ♠A. (which was not true :) ). Question:: Can strip and throw-in work if RHO has ♠A(xxx) and ♣Kxxx? and if not: Why does it not work and can I easily see that it will not work?
  5. Thanks all for the answers. (Very interersting comments I found that this hand has too much defence for 2S) This is the full story: [hv=d=n&v=e&n=skj97hk643dk98c95&s=sat8532hj8dat4ck6]133|200|Scoring: IMP P-(1C)-2S-All Pass[/hv] Making 2♠+2. LHO was table host and he removed me after this hand, telling me that 2♠ was a Novice bid.
  6. Partner is pickup on BBO. No agreements. The idea is to bid 2♠ with 5 or 6 spades and 0 to 12 (13?) pts...Any hand you don't see a lot chanche to make game with a passed partner. Only make it more difficult for opps. ...but maybe this hand is too good?
  7. [hv=d=n&v=e&s=sat8532hj8dat4ck6]133|100|Scoring: IMP Pass-(1C)-?[/hv] Partner passed. Do you consider bidding a weak 2♠ with this hand? If not: what is the minimum change you need to bid 2♠? thanks, Koen
  8. I wonder what a DBL of 3♠ by North is. Takeout or penalty?
  9. I passed the DBL and 2♦x went -2 for 100%. I think my partner had 14 pts and a doubleton ♦. It feels like we sould play this DBL as penalty oriented (repsonder should only bid with 3334) or pure penalty. Pure take out seems less usefull because responder already denied the Majors (or is GF).
  10. I expected 2 or 3 hearts. Consider that more likely then a singleton after this bidding (especially opps bidding)
  11. 1♣-(P)-1♠!-(2♦) DBL-(P)- You have following agreements: - 1♠: No Major, transfer ♦ or transfer 1NT - All your DBLs are takeout unless agreed otherwise. You didn't agree this one. Would you take openers DBL as penalty or takeout or ♦ tolerance (eg at least doubleton)? What would you agree about the DBL? My hand at MP's was something like (I think all red): ♠Axx ♥xxx ♦AJxx ♣xxx
  12. 3♦. If opps bid to 4♣ then I pass. If opps bid to 5♣ then I will probably bid 5♦ at these colors. ...How stupid is that?
  13. And if RHO played ♠T ...or ♠Q under ♠A?
  14. [hv=d=s&v=n&n=skjtxxxhxxdqxcaqx&s=sqxhxdakjxxxckjxx]133|200|Scoring: IMP[/hv] 1♦-(P)-1♥!-(3♥) P-(P)-4♠-(P) 5♠-(P)-P 1♥=Transfer ♠ My partner did bid 5♠. Our Agreement is that a 5-level bid asks a usefull card, but I thought I did bid enough and passed. 5♠=
  15. [hv=n=sk9xxxhxxdqxxxcjx&s=sxxhakqtdckqt8xxx]133|200|[/hv] I did bid 5♣ now. LHO did lead ♠8 for RHO's ♠T and RHO continued with the A and a small ♠, ruffed high by me (LHO disacarding a ♦) and I followed with high ♣ taken by LHO with the A. LHO now played a ♦, ruffed by me and a ♣ to the J, RHO discarding a ♦. As LHO still had a ♣ I tried an unsuccesful finesse of the ♥T for 5♣-2.
  16. Thanks all for the answers. [hv=n=sxhakxxdktxxcaqxx&w=s8xhqtxxxdaxxcxxx&e=saqjtxxhxdqjxxcjx&s=sk9xxhj98dxxckxxx]399|300|[/hv] RHO errored by playing a 2nd Spade. (At the other table our team mates swtiched to H, after which 3NT cannot be made ....I think). I errored by ducking the 2nd Spade, but RHO continued with a 3rd S (and still not the Ace), which I took with the K. Then I played ♥8 and LHO was nice enough to put the T on it... Not very good play, but 3NT=

    BBO TV

I don't have to log in to go to BBO TV. ...I found that it works if I use the 'Try this second link'. This link opens the BBO TV in the current browser window iso of restarting the already open window. Thanks!
  18. Note I mentioned that opps don't play WJO. So 2♠ can be 6 card with less then opening values. Opening lead is most probably from a doubleton. Opps are from French speaking part of Belgium and it is pretty standard there to lead pair/impair (3rd, 5th..) also against NT.

    BBO TV

If I have vuegraph open in BBO TV and click on 'Try this link first' on BBO home page to open a 2nd vuegraph then it opens in my 1st vuegraph window, resetting that one. How can I make it open in a new window? Thanks, Koen
  20. Surprised by that. I would rather think it asks for a ♥ control? Can't you bid 5♦ to ask for a ♣ control or would you take 5♦ as to play? (To ask for a ♥ control you can of course also start with cueing 5♣?)

  24. What should he bid with e.g: Kxx AKJxx KQxx x
