Always fun when Windows freezes on you when running a Tourney. I apologise now if any of you were involved. Sean

It might be illegal for me to post this according to BBF rules, I shall soon find out: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/07/13/zi...adbutt_outrage/ Hope you enjoy. Sean

That policy is fine Miron. Sometimes you will find that someone had to reset their internet connection or something, so items 2 and 3 should always be done at the table in question. Sean

Whenever I get one of these, I immediately ask how the callers have been damaged, it is amazing how often there is no answer. You will find lots of people call the director because technically they can, many times they already knew something was wrong, but they wait to see the result of the hand before calling. I have little sympathy for this. You will quite often find that players will look for a highly gambling defense in this circumstance that will gain them a top if it works, then rely on the director to give them and ave+ if it doesn't work. I never reward someone aiming for a double-shot. Sean

This is a sort of puzzle... Name a US state that is two antonyms separated by one letter. (Example: BlackQWhite) Sean

The big talk in Australia right now is whether Glenn McGrath should play the 1st Test of the Ashes having not played at all for many months. Sean

I open ♥ and rebid ♦, then the do the sensible thing after the hand if it goes wrong of explaining I accidentally mixed one of my ♦ in with the ♥ when I opened the bidding. Sean

I agree with all written above. Start small. I remember I started with 6 table Indys to get the feel for the software. Now I am very comfortable doing 50+ table Indys by myself. (with adjustments etc) Make your first few really easy on yourself, either unclocked or 8 minutes, another way to make it easier is don't do 1 board rounds, make it 2-3 board rounds. This allows players to catch up time problems. Doint 1 board rounds when say, round 3, is a particularly difficult board, means every table might run into time troubles, players quite often catch up the time problem on the next hand. Sean

As long as it remembers the "Lobby Chat" setting I will be happy :P Sean -
Sorry to say it is unmakeable on a ♦ lead. It was very poor defense. Sean

I second Jeff Buckley's cover of Hallelujah; it is an amzing track. One of the most popular answers to this question is usually "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell. A little known fact is that this is in fact a cover of a son originally performed by Gloria Jones. (Personally I prefer Marilyn Manson's version) I will try to think of some more obscure ones :) Sean

I voted Brazil, mainly because the refs love them. I know it is a poor reason, but it is a legitimate one. Sean

The reason for bad result.

♠ 3 ♥ KQJ10982 ♦ Q54 ♣ 76 The double is so bad, that if you change the opening hand to this: ♠ 3 ♥ AKQJ10982 ♦ Q54 ♣ 7 A hand that your partner could never argue about for a 4♥ opener it is still going to make either 10 or 11 tricks depending on whether ♥s are 3-0 or 2-1. This is why hot drinks should never be allowed at the table, I have seen people throw cups of coffee at each other at the table for blame-games less than this. <_< Sean -
I need to say it just once, even if it subject me to ridicule... GO AUSTRALIA!!! Bring on Italy! We have nothing to lose. :D Sean

You forgot the part about assuming it is a legal delivery :D Sean

Is anyone else reading less about bridge and spending more time chatting at the "Water Cooler"? Sean

One thing I must say, any of the teams we have so far proposed, be they 1st or 2nd 11 teams would be damn good. Sean
-
World X1 2: Virender Sehwag Graeme Smith Younis Khan Sachin Tendulkar Mike Hussey Damien Martyn Kumara Sangakkara Brett Lee Shane Bond Makhaya Ntini Stuart Macgill 12th man: Herschelle Gibbs Sean

World XI 1 is not following your formula, but I will explain... Matthew Hayden Rahul Dravid Jacques Kallis Ricky Ponting Inzamam ul-Haq Brian Lara Andrew Flintoff Adam Gilchrist Shane Warne Glenn McGrath Muttiah Muralitharan 12th man: Andrew Symonds for fielding duties. I feel with Flintoff and Kallis, I can take 2 spinners in. Sean (thinking about the 2nd team)

As an aside, even though it was against Bangladesh, what did everyone think of Jason Gillespie's double hundred? Sean
-
I have a further question, when picking, is World1 being picked first? And then World2? As to venue, let's pretend there is a perfect venue that aids the quicks early, then favours the spinners towards the end. Id doesn't have to be a real venue. Sean

I find all the lists unusual in that Zimbabwe are included, even though they have been suspended from Test status. Yet, noone has included Sri Lanka. Sean

This thread should probably be shut down as it could get very vicious. There are things I want to say, but my manners preclude me from doing so. I am sure this is so for many others. Let's leave this alone. Sean
