I understand that investigating these reports is a complex and time consuming issue for BBO but what I don't understand is why BBO don't do the some things to help, help themselves. The simplest and easiest thing they could do is to introduce a feature whereby the 'Host' of the table can evict kibbers; at the moment the host can evict players but not kibbers - why? And, why are there no 'moderators?' Every forum I have ever joined has moderators. If BBO appointed moderators for each and every Public Club giving them access to the tools to investigate, they could police these reports.

And here's another one. This time he's West and makes 6D! [hv=pc=n&s=sa652hkt32dj2cj93&w=sjhaj97da965cq752&n=skqt87hq865d8c864&e=s943h4dkqt743cakt&d=w&v=0&b=8&a=1d1s3d3s6dppp]399|300[/hv]

His name is Tom but sometimes Dick and his kibbing mate is Harry http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/topic/78175-cheating/

Here is the hand. I have watched East on many occasions and IMO East is either Ron Klinger or has magical powers of perception and remarkable judgement (or something else) [hv=pc=n&s=sj9864hat7d2ckq74&w=st73hkdkt75cj9653&n=s2hq986542dj86ct2&e=sakq5hj3daq943ca8&d=s&v=e&b=3&a=pp3hdp4cp4d4hpp5dppp]399|300[/hv] He/she makes the 5 Diamonds

Thanks for the helpful replies. There are lots of things I know but unfortunately even more things that I don't know, I wondered if it could mean anything other than Clubs.

What does this bid mean? What might this bid mean? Pass Pass 3♥ Dble Pass 4♣ What might the 4C bid mean (Note: It is not Gerber)
-
I am confident that, from the information in my post, only Tom, Dick or Harry could identify anyone.

I reported it a month back but I do understand that they’re very busy and it’s very difficult and very time consuming to investigate. I posted it here because I also accept that I don’t know everything and someone might point out the flaw in my thinking. Or . . . the individual in question might read this post, recognise himself and stop.

Are my suspicions justified? God knows why anyone would want to cheat in an anonymous on-line Bridge game. Here’s the evidence . . (Note: I have reported this.) (Where - Acol club) . . . I’ll call them Tom, Dick and Harry. I suspect that they are all one person, i.e. one person has created three user names and has two devices and logs on both devices kibbing on one and playing on the other i.e. he/she sees all 4 hands as a kibber on the other device. My suspicion started after some spectacular bidding e.g. 1H, 1S(o/c), 3H, 6H and others And also seeing some spectacular play after regular long pauses. That started me ‘following‘ them and here is what I found. Whenever Tom or Dick play Harry is always kibbing. Tom and Dick are never playing at the same time and Harry never plays ever, he only kibs. When Tom logs in, changes table or logs out Harry mirrors him. When Dick logs in, changes table or logs out Harry mirrors him. Harry never kibs anybody else, in fact Harry is never on-line if either Tom or Dick are not on-line. If he/she is not cheating the only other explanation I can see is that Harry is a learner and Tom and Dick are his teachers i.e. Tom and Dick contact Harry each time they intend to play and invite him to watch. . . . . Nah, that’s ridiculous, it must be cheating. Unless I am missing something?

thanks - that's as I thought - just checking

Profile: Acol Weak NT Stayman Red Suit transfers (i.e. not Spades) Problem: North opens 1NT. South has long Clubs or Long Diamonds and forms the view that 3C or 3D will be the best contract. What is the accepted bidding sequence that get to and stops at 3C / 3D? (Please don't tell me that it should be 2S transfer to minors, that is specifically not in the profile).

Where are you? There is usually a group at various stages of learning in most areas who charge small table money (£2 - £5). Tip: Go into the Bridgewebs web site, look up the club(s) near you, call their secretary and ask if there's a local learner group
-
I am not against kibbers/kibbing, I often watch in the hope that I might learn and that's useful. It's the anonymity of the zzzz kibber that is abused by cheats that irks me. Thinking about my request/suggestion and how it could be effectively implemented . . . . I suggest that BBO introduce a feature that would enable any member of a table to eject any zzzz kibber.
-
I would like to see something done to restrict or better still stop zzzz kibbers. BBO is free to join so why have this feature / facility? The benefits of having this feature are: . . . . . what? The disadvantages of having this feature are: It is used by those sick people who can't help themselves looking for ways to cheat. Either stop this feature or include a feature within the table options to exclude zzzz's from Kibbing.

21.55 I sat there looking at the expedia add and when it changed to EDF I successfully logged in. . . . . . I know these things are not that simple but for me . . . if the expedia adds up I am not in . .
-
Hi, logged out and tried to log in at 20.55 and got the same malware pop up and again it was alongside the expedia ad.
-
when the side add changed from expedia to Roberta Arnolds cruise I was able to log-in. Sorry, I'm not complaining, I know it's difficult, I am just submitting information which I hope will be helpful in tracking it down.

19.15 on 27th . . . it's happening again. I tried adding this to the first free iPhone malware thread but it crashed!

Below is the script / address of this malware / phishing http://microsoft.com-uk1-cot1.holiday-discounted-prices.cricket/winip7en_win.html?isp=Virgin%20Media%20Limited&model=Desktop&82.41.45.210&voluumdata=deprecated&eda=deprecated&cep=hHdictY16xieqi6ol_q-ImBPiQPkbWMvZs6EUi5TDGYufu4IJddSl8EDLj8pq7sB9qWBR34PcB6hwkPQzwYvJZhDPwf5sM_q8snipp0ezm3INFonGM6IvoDwaCBBi41F_6VCE6c00LCjb75_puq9I29GDceRMlyqJVlLcWqD5ompFMnGTDBkixG0RRdpDYj1DEi8VmSZYm4QE3Fnq8SgbsJgKLyHnH3nh4vHRCyVtXDHm0zTgrTHzTa6Wko-uAmwCUF1u9AVxax5hSvuvJsf9XmbrKZNGzr5YK58tfPLh-k&siteid=rtkio_11646&sitedomain=bridgebase.com&page=&source=363&pub=rtkio_4258

Still happening . . . the advert that it seems to be associated with the Expedia add for 40% off hotel rooms.
-
For two days now, on attempting to login to BBO I can't get past a 'pop up' inviting me to answer a question to win an iPhone. This 'hijack' seems to be associated with the side adverts to book a holiday with expedia.
-
With no partnership agreement . . . . Partner (second seat) doubles openers preemptive 3, what do you expect he is holding? Is such a double 'generally' accepted to be a penalty double or a take-out double?
