I no longer consider the Washington Post a reliable source of news.
-
Let me regugitate this: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/interactive/2017/07/27/letter-from-nunes-to-coats-on-unmasking.html

Yeah, but I think the Fusion GPS case, the extensive unmasking of US Citizens by the Obama Administration staff, the Awan brothers apparent fraud and who knows what else with Debbie Wasserman and other legislators, and the alleged leaking by the FBI Counsel are more interesting stories. And now one of the intelligence committees is calling for Special Counsel to investigate the Hillary Clinton email/Comey/Loretta Lynch episodes. I hope you have several years supply of popcorn.

If Trump were actually motivated by pussy, and he would agree to resign immediately for a lifetime supply of pussy, is that an offer you would support?
-
I hope we never have to make such a choice, but the real world doesn't always cooperate. I'm reminded of the stories of family businesses in New York City or other large cities, who are approached by individuals who lament that it would be terrible if something happened to their business, but that they offer protection against such things. What is the business owner to do? It is extremely difficult for police and the legal system to offer realistic protection against such extortion. Should the owner pay up and continue on with his business and support for his family? Should he take the risk of telling the individual to take a hike? Should he shut down his business, built up over years, and move to another location? Should he take the risk of involving the police (assuming the police are honest). What would you do, realistically? These are sometimes the choices faced by families in the real world. You do what you have to do to survive and prosper, even when you don't like it.

Winstonm, exactly how much chance is there that you would exit this public discourse?
-
So you are taking the position that even if it made a difference in the number of lives saved/killed, that providing pussy is ludicrous/unacceptable?
-
Yes, what is critically wrong is delegating so much power to government if the first place. And the world's history of leaders appears to be much the same, they all use their positions to gratify their personal desires. But are we even accusing Trump of such activity while he is President? Not to my knowledge. Do you have other information? To me one of our greatest dangers is our moral arrogance that prevents us from finding pragmatic solutions to our problems. That moral arrogance is likely to kill us.
-
What he said.

You must live in a fantasy world. The probability of the 25th Amendment being used to remove Trump from office is extremely remote. You would have to convince Pence and the Cabinet to initiate such an action. Pence seems very supportive of Trump. And it would be a very long, drawn out process, during which time Trump is still the one making the decisions. I suggest you look for a more practical solution to your angst.

Our very survival depends on how effectively our President makes decisions, particularly concerning military/defense decisions. How balanced is he, how relaxed is he, how rational is he in the midst of conflict. For example, the president is currently considering options on handling North Korea, including military options. Most military experts concur that initiating military action against North Korea could easily cost millions of lives. Do you want an emotionally off-balance person making that decision? So, how many lives are you willing to gamble by putting the President in a personally frustrating condition? If providing pussy to the President will save lives, then I say provide pussy. How about you, are you willing to potentially sacrifice those lives to uphold your sense of morality?
-
That may be the case, but some people are still unable to afford them.
-
My goodness! Lighten up!
-
OK, just hyperbole.
-
You are so partisan that you cannot even recognize a joke. Sad!
-
Do you remember how many shoes Immelda Marcos had?
-
Are you really taking the position that government run enterprises are less costly and more efficiently run that private enterprises?
-
Exactly. Trump seems to be establishing better relations with Russia. As the major nuclear weapon power in the world today, I think that is probably a good idea. Or would you prefer to have a confrontational relationship with Russia?
-
And I still say to watch what Trump does, not what he says. Of course the media doesn't seem to spend much time on reporting what he does, only what he says and RussiaGate.
-
Well, the Democrats and Republicans certainly do not have a consensus, and the Republicans, among themselves do not have a consensus, as is evidenced by the recent elections and legislative failure. Exactly how do you infer a majority social consensus from this? I have no idea how the public would be better off under the Republican plans. I think the Republicans are just as screwed up as the Democrats on this issue. But I continue to read about insurance companies pulling out of the market leaving many areas with no insurers available for the private plans, or only 1 insurer available (can you say "no competition" to hold prices?), I also read about premiums going up rapidly, 76% in Oklahoma just this last year. And deductibles also going up. A study showed that 50% of Obamacare hospital copay bills for 2016 are still unpaid, higher % for larger bills. My take on this is that even if one qualifies for Obamacare, one cannot afford it. This does not seem to me to be signs of a functioning system.

I believe that California has pending legislation to provide universal healthcare to the residents of California. The only problem seems to be that the estimated budget to fund it is 3 times the current total state budget. Is everyone prepared to pay the bill for universal health care?
-
So it appears that the Republican Senate couldn't get its act together, even to just repeal Obamacare. Just another indication of the lack of social consensus. Obamacare will continue to be the law of the land for the foreseeable future. And it appears to be imploding. All of those people who now have individual/family coverage and can't afford the premiums, copays or deductibles. And all of those people who are eligible but cannot even get coverage because there are no insurers left in their area. Let us hope that not too many people get hurt.

Recent study/report on how US Health Care compares to other developed countries: http://www.commonwealthfund.org/interactives/2017/july/mirror-mirror/

An interesting recent report that indicates that the data that has been used as a basis for climate change/global warming is not an adequate representation of reality: https://thsresearch.files.wordpress.com/2017/05/ef-gast-data-research-report-062717.pdf

Interesting how you try to make something out of simple voting. Is this how you handle all of your data? Twist it to fit your narrative? As you already well know, I support the policy actions and executive orders, not the man. Shall I repeat that again? I support the policy actions and executive orders, not the man. Can you hear me now? And at what point would you be willing to supply ladies to the man? If it would save 1,000 lives? 10,000? 100,000? If not, then you are willing to sacrifice 100,000 lives to satisfy your sense of morality in the presidency. Not me.
