I think the problem is Firefox treats LIN files as text files, unless told otherwise. In Myhands, a Content-Type header is sent. (Content-Type: application/bbolin) Nikos, are you using Apache? Can you add this line to your httpd.conf (or the appropiate place)? AddType application/bbolin .lin I think this would fix the issue. Unrelated to browser, it just depends on the .LIN -> NetBridgeVu.exe association. Reinstalling BBO takes care of it, can also be fixed by hand if you know how (in Mozilla/Firefox family, Tools -> Options -> Downloads).

This is not possible at the moment, but could be viable under certain circumstances (depending on the firewall). BBO client tries port 9999 on their servers, and after that tries port 80 (web port, usually open in any environment), though. If that doesn't work now, it's probably not viable.

Problem with this approach is, you need a SOCKS server IN YOUR OFFICE, which effectively punches the firewall. So you need help from the network admins to set up this (I guess it is improbable to get)
