  1. 1. make sense to me that 2♠ as forcing. 2. north hand is min for the 1NT not max.
  2. Make no mistake, i think money bridge with gibs is a great thing, and i play it alot (and makes money) still those who dont play with gib and think Gib is ok bidder or that the FD is perfect just dont know what they are talking about. There are many examples, some more funny then others like the FD saying Gib showed 7+H and 7+D... i guess gib had 14 cards that hand. this 14 cards are pretty rare but many times you find X+ pnts X- pnts on one sentence.
  3. Another funny bid from yesterday. non vul against vul, RHO open 2♣ I pass and LHO bids 2♦, partner doubled showing ♦s, RHO bids 2♥. I had 5♦ and a 4 card somewhere else, was thinging of 4♦ maybe even 5♦ but i thought i beter be carfull with gib so i only bid 3♦ (FD explained 3+D), My gib bid 3NT !, it get doubled, i pass and My gib takes it out to ? 4♦ no 5♦ no 6♦ yes!!!!!!!
  4. This seems more intresting 1♦-1♥-p-p 2♣- p- 2♠ ? And this one too 1♦-p-p-2♣ p-2♠ or with less passes: 1♦-p-1♥-2♣ 2♦-2♠
  5. keylime you explained why this is not an offensive hand yet choose the mix raize which show exaxtly the opposite.
  6. This hand is somewhere between 2♣ and 2NT. It is not a 3♣ because 3♣ hands should be more shapy with less HCP. It might be a matter of overcall style and maybe even the vul, for me i think its good enough for 2NT.
  7. An intresting point here is that declarer was confident the opponenet will believe him (if i did have a H loser i would pitch it wouldnt i ?) and took this chance for only a small add to his chances.
  8. I think you are half right he ment wining with the ♥A and pitching a ♣ on the ♦K.
  9. Id pass Because too many times when 4S is right we wont play there.
  10. 2♥ for me. 2♠ doesnt tell the story of the hand it hide the ♥ fit and shows a weaker hand in tricks potential. I would consider 1♠ and supporting ♥ later but i think most play that doign this usually shows a stronger hand, so im lft with 2♥.
  11. I think this question wasnt properly introduce and the main guess here is the respoders guessing what the asker ment. So if you ment a different guess pls explain which guess is that.
  12. Repeat after me: "GIB is a computer program". It is not capable of making up bidding agreements on the fly. It will not be able to figure out that you want it to bid 6♥ if it has the Queen. If you bid as if it could figure that sort of thing out, you deserve your bad results. Do you ever play with gib ? Playing with Gib you get a FD you can check what a bid Gib made or a Bid you are about to make means. I checked and my bid ment cue bid, and cue bids arent suppose to be passed.
  13. Can you beat this ? few days ago i was vul and got something like this: AJXXX AKJ X AKXX I opened 1S gibs give me 2H GF, i bid 3H and it then bid 3S, i decided to ask for aces checked that it asks in ♠ and gib shows 3 aces by 5C, i asks for Q of ♠ and gib bid 5NT showing the Q. i then needed the Q of ♥ for 7 else i want to stay in 6, wasnt sure how to bid it, the FD say 6♣/6♦/6♥ are cue bids, i decided to bid 6♣ and hope he bids 6♥ but gib had a different idea, it passed, with a singlton ♣ and fit in both other majors, when the FD say its a cue bid. 1♠ - 2♥ 3♥ - 3♠ 4NT - 5♣ 5♦ - 5NT 6♣ - PASS !!!
  14. I dont understand the dbl here, yes 2♠ showed 3♥s but isnt your dbl still shows ♥ ? otherwise if you got ♥s it would likely to end in 2♠ undoubled. If your dbl does show ♥s then if opener passes partner might bid 3♥ and you wont like it. If instead declarer bid 3♥ im not sure partner will know the situation, he will think your hand is good for defence since you got something in ♥ and will tend to pass when you want him to bid. This is unless you agreed that this is a two way dbl situation which i believe has its cost if opponenets want to take advantage of it.
  15. I think if you dont want to bid 2♣ on this hand you better open 1♣, this give more chances that partner wont bid 1♠.

There are things that us gib's partner see every day for example give has a fear of playing NT, it would do alot to avoid it, for example gib tranfer show a 4 card suit, sometimes he tranfer with 44 in the majors instead of stayman!, with 5 cards he usually use texas.
  17. I watched the VU record, some of the explanations were mistakes, for example we dont use reo the other pair did, also we didnt invent our system only a small part or it, we play the way forward 1♦ and1♠ over 1♣ we play relay from michael alberman site. we did chage few things but not too much. The 0-11 is pretty normal in limited opening system, it doesnt mean you have to bid it with any 0 hcp, you can just pass if you want, the big benefit imo is that the opponents cant assume they dont have game as it usually happend after normal system 1X-1NT, so their difence should take that in mind. sometimes you just play 1NT when the opponenets have a game which is also nice. basically when opener has a small range of points respoder is the captain so its not that important to show his range as opposite to 2/1 based systems, especially when those 0-11 usually means we dont have a game. I have to thank BBO for our good result in this tournament, this was our first tourny together and we practice many many hours on BBO, we wouldnt do half as good without BBO. We were the suprise of the tournament, no one expected us to get to the final especially when we ended up in the strongest house of the semi but we did and 2 round to the end we even were on the first place, a weak ending got us to the thirds with same VP as the second place. So thanks BBO and thanks to my partner who played like an expirence adult although he is only 21 and play bridg for a year a3 months, ofcourse he made mistakes here and there but his attitude during all the tournament was what got us far. thanks for commentating was nice to watch it.
  18. Ron pachman and eldad ginosar are leading the tournament and probebly the best pair in this event so they will definelty be on atleast one of the brodcasts maybe against us because we havent played them yet.
  19. We alert every bid. We play a complex system, my partner used to say that this system is easy because a bid is never natural so you cant mistake :).
  20. There will be 2 broadcasts from the israel championship final starting 15.5 hours from now and if nothing change ill be on one of them. Hope not to be too nervous and with lots of luck we might do well even though we are a big underdog. Sharon Guy
  21. Few month ago BBO was recruting a team to improve GIB. Can you give some info about the status of that work ? do they still working ? what is their plan for the near future ? anything would interest us gibs partners who play with him alot and sometimes frustrated by it's bids it's system or the diferent between the two. Maybe Gib's partners can help him somehow. Thanks
  22. Currently when you are in a money bridge room you can see only the other tables in that room. It would be usefull to be able to see other rooms too. This will help me when im looking for game and already opened a table but waiting while someone else opened a table and waiting in another room, im guessing many dont open a table because they prefer the global view they get from the upper level. Also it would be helpfull to see if one of my favorite opponenets has opened a table and join him.
  23. Part of being a good bidder is avoiding any bid that partner might not understand so 5NT is just a mistake no matter what partner has unless you agreed what it means.
  24. if partner has ♥KQXXX ♦AQXX and a control in ♣ we make 6♦ while 6♥ might be on finnese or just go down. example: [hv=s=sxxhkqjxxdaqxxckx]133|100|[/hv] 6♥ goes down on ♠ lead while 6♦ is cold assuming suits breaks.
  25. Thanks everyone. At the table i have bid 3♥, didnt want to take chances. 3♠ showing support for ♦ could work bad if partner decide to go directly to 5♦, yet in many other sequences it can turn out ot be better.
