another suggestion to td's in general (and no it is not personal and not to marc since he never does that): STOP postponing tournaments... plse. Yesterday again i registered in a tournament with 7 minutes left to go. Suddingly it was changed into 17 minutes... without any warning in lobby and without a td visible online. If it wd have been an invididual i wd have withdrawn without any hesitation, but here i was with partner so i left it, looking at the tournament for 17 minutes... before it started... If i had known this in advance i wd have planned my time differently. I think postponing is rude to the waiting players and it increases playing in main waiting for the tournaments to start... As td i get often a request to postpone and i never honour it... i cannot postpone for one player.. letting f.e. 180 other players wait...

Last night i played a bit with td tools to find out how some things work. I found out that i also cd create a tournament without filling in my name as director and that my name wd appear on the announcement of the tournament. A simple feature was enough! Today i created Glamour, using a k at the place of director and my name was entered in lobby. All is ok, i thought, and i started tournament. It was the most quiet tourney i ever had since the players cd not use the call dir button. It took me an hour to realise that this was since they called for k and not for Mirjam_3

Tx Uday, I see tournaments gets faster and faster and that is good.. Sorry for those with bad connections but we need to be able to finish tournaments in reasonible time. And i think we sd go to a 'normal' situation... if you enter you finish unless yr house is on fire...

In a tourney i have a cut of 20%. After a switch a player asks me from lobby: 'Why did u throw me out?' I answer shortly: 'Cut 20%.' He replied: 'That wasnot nice of you.' A minute later i found time to write him: 'The system does it, not me.' The player: 'No it was not the system, the system only advertised i was excused and nobody came at my table.'

I come at table with player in red. I ask the partner whether he needs a sub. 'No, no sub, plse we wait.' We wait, we wait. Then the player says: 'Disconnect him but dont sub him.'

A player says an adjustment was wrong. I look movie and i see the board was nearly completed but certainly doubled down 2 and it was adjusted that way. So i tell the player the adjustment was ok. Player: Yes, it was down doubled 2 but my partner couldnot think well since opp played very slow.

i can agree a lot w yr post but where comes yr idea of the lenghth of my list? i certainly dont have a list of 240 o dear..noway!!!

First of all: I think uday has great point here. I remember when i first started hosting tournaments i didnt get any lists from other hosts when i asked for those at first td-meeting and i felt disappointed about that. For that reason... if any new td wants to have my current list, i will send it, no problem there, as long as that td realises that it is a changing list. People on that list are not fit to play in my tournaments at this moment but of course this list is updated every day!! So a player can be on it and next week he isnot since he/she and i found a way to cooperate. If uday wants to use my list somehow, plse do so. If any td wants to have that list, mail me, my address is on my profile. But plse treat the list with what i have said in mind. On this list there are: - no cheaters, if any possible cheating is on i send it to abuse. - no players from which i think they will never be fit to play in my tournament Glamour, because if that is the case i will report them to abuse since i strongly believe that such players cannot be allowed in BBO as well. I remembered one player used the f word, i mailed it to abuse and this player was banned from BBO the next minute and i saw him never back. - no players who might have been rude in my tournament Glamour, but from which i dont have the chat and if asked denied to have being rude.... i ask the insulted player to mail abuse him/herself, if possible with the chat. Well who are on that list: players from whom i think they were rude/or from whom i have chat they were rude - players who refuse to play with sub - players who dont communicate if i ask them (f.e. if i ask about a bid and i never get answer i have to go on.. i can handle tournaments of 60 tables.. 240 players by myself but of course i cannot wait 6 minutes to get no answer in the end - players who dont speak english at all Sometimes a player and i agree we cannot get along an i put him/her in blacklist. Sometimes a player and i have chat after tournament and we agree than and i dont put him there. Mostly players ask after some time to get off the list and after that we get along very well! In my healthy days i was a teacher, sorry for all, but i need a bit respect for what i try to do. I have tournaments with nice and polite players and i love it and them!! There is no need to shout at me, a partner or an opp, and plse we honour the subs!!!

tx very much uday!! i see now players are more inspired to keep their connection and finish tournaments so this might be a great help to make tournaments faster. 8 minutes a board and in some tourneys even 9 minutes a board is too long imho.. it must be possible to run 3 boards in 21 minutes and now we make a move forward that!!!

I believe the TD can do some work too. If i have time i send message to the player that left. Well, i dont succeed there that well, but all bits might help. And most players are kind enough to leave me message about what happened. I cannot manage this behavior when connections are bad, of course, and i certainly hope that NO TD me ever is going to ask why i left... I have a cat, u know, and this cat likes to run over the bed where i am with my laptop and a very insecure connection to the net... so the cat rans and i boot... how can i explain it?? Lucky for me the players in my tournaments dont have such cats or they have much better connections!

Well done!!! Maybe we cd add something about how to handle if td calls come on yr screen? At first i didnot know that clicking in table allowed me to finish a chat before taking next call.. And that we sd keep the calls, they dont go automatically to another TD if clicked away...

Hi, Various reasons to have to type a name of one who has to be subbed: player seems online but isnot player is red but inviation failed player asking to be subbed player has to be subbed because of misbehave There are certain players i cannot sub manually quick for the reason spwdo told.. takes a lot of time to figure out spelling.. ILI is most fun.. had several laughs with it because how do i explain at the table i am trying to solve the problem: often i ask the partner how the name of his p is spelled and a LONG silence is there... a good thing pn BBO is ... most players have humor!!!

Hmmmmm, i am not sure you mean what is happening to me and i am not technical but i will try to explain my problem, from which i thought in the test version (it only happened than 2 times) that it was a problem with my computer... It happens when i am td and in the position to kibitz a table at the tournament. At the moment the hand is finished and the sheet falls from the played hand i am blocked if i want to do something else (f.e. ask for movie or chat to a specificic player at the same time). It happened 6 times to me in 2 days. I have to restart the computer and the problem is gone. Now i became experienced in avoiding the problem - lol - and i try not to be at the table if that moment is coming up or i dont do anything else at that point. Still, i am not sure that this is what you mean... i run win98, my screen is wide. Hope i could be of any use. Further i want to say i love the site like this. Great job!!!!
