Who thought a few months ago that Cyprus will stand so fast on the edge of disaster?. Surely, this economy is too small to have a big impact on financial situation in Europe, but the loss of confidence will be enormous if this state fails.

It doesn't count as JEC #35, but I think after 34 loses this great win brings a lot of good feeling to the BBF :) -
Nice. Thanks :) No champagne in this thread. A glas of bacon flavored vodka for all hijackers, cheers!

It works. The league system without relegations works only on play off base, but here is not a single football league in Europe based on these US sports systems

I got 2 min ban for spamming after I tried to get to the indy tournament where the max. number of participants has been already reached. In this case I always try to get in clicking the request several times and its often sucessfull if smbd cancel the registration, I never thought this "method" could be a reason for banning. Is this really neccessary and is the ban longer if this happen another one or two more times?

thanks. you are right we (european fans) are different at this point. we are absolutely not interested in...how long was Messi in ball possession, how many fouls he did, or be fouled, the total length of his passes etc etc.

dont't want to hijack this topic but generally... why are there in US sports about 1 trillion statistics for everything under the sport sun. I would not wonder if they even count how many yards make the dudes who bring the drinks to the players http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif

The postings above remind me of my grandpa's odyssey during the IIWW. Was it possible to be in 3 different armies during these years? Yes, it was....my grandpa lived in Upper Silesia after the 1939 campagne and helped over two years the soldiers of the polish underground army, He has been never unmasked by the germans, but 1944 he was recruited forcibly to the Wehrmacht like a x thousends of silesian men in those days. No escape for them, Wehrmacht or KZ, that was the choice. His regiment was moved to France and after the chaos of the D-Day he renegated by occasion to the british forces. After the verifing he joined to the polish units of the british army late in 1944 and stayed there until those units have been demobilized 1947 in South England. They all had to make a hard decision: return to Poland or one-way-tickets from Southampton to Halifax or Melbourne. My grandpa spent one year in Canada and decided there to return to his family in Silesia despite of fact that the communists had there all the power.

unilateral military intervention by western power
Aberlour10 replied to billw55's topic in The Water Cooler
There were many french armed interventions in West Africa over the last 50 years, not always to protect the human rights, mostly due to french geopolitical and economic interests. But these were all small sized operations with less civilian casualties and this is deciding fact why the world public opinion has never protested against it. I wish they would send their Foreign Legion to Ruanda too. They didn't, but it was a shame of the whole UN.. -
I miss in the Posty Awards the category Hijacking of the Year B-)

Andrzej Wilkosz, the legend of polish bridge is gone in age of 77. The multiple World and European Champ and BBo regular. Hard to belive we will never meet "Wilkand" again at the late evening in NOCNY BLUES tournament. It was always something special for people like me to play at his table.

Dont' know, but you will hate it probably more than the 8. Desktop PC, mouse etc, all these are antient instruments, not worth to loose the time for developing...touch-me-mania must go on.

If there exists the unwritten list for the congressmen with 10 "things" absolutely necessary for them to stay in US Congress..."Don't mess with the NRA" is surely in the TOP3 of it In 2 weeks this tragedy will be out of the headlines, in 4 out of the most heads, nothing will happen, nothing will be changed.

The sitcoms with british humor are simply unbeatable. I also liked much these british old fashioned series like a "Upstairs, downstairs" with Gordon Jackson as a butler... a great picture of the english social life at the beginning of the 20th century. Married with Children...primitive humor say all...but nobody managed to ridicule the American Dream so much as Al Bundy done. And its great!http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif
