I think this is a good idea, but not at this situation where the opponents opened weak. Also this hand has 5-4 in majors, its not a hand i want to decide that we play the spade suit, i would be more then happy to hear partner bid hearts.

Colors are important, but this doesnt mean you should get crazy because of the colors. bidding here is either lack of bridge understanding or an ego bid, or both.

With extra A i would still pass but would understand people who bids.

what do you open with a one minor suiter ? there are 2 nice systems called nail and snail which use 1c and 1d for strong hands, 1h 1s like yours.

just a side point. if it shows GF with 4S (i don't think it does) you probably still shouldn't bid 4 spades. the total trumps aren't enough to make four spade right.

6 clubs cant be a bad contract (finesse heart twice and make), so get the information about K hearts.

it is easier to evaluate this system by comparing it to swidish club than to precision. So basically you want to play swidish club and move balance hands with 4 hearts to the 1 diamond opening. The 1 club will be a bit better but i dont see how you will gain much of having that type of hand ouside it. The 1 diamond i think will suffer more since it will be less definded. the trick you mentioned i think will not be of much use in competative bid. to explain what i mean but my last comment, lets just assume you played weak nt, and decided to seprate the strong nt between the 1c and 1d opening. now in competition opener of 1 diamond will be able to double which will show a balance hand with 4 hearts. I am not saying that this is a good idea either...

I agree that Twalsh is not good vs forcing 1 club. regarding the switch, i know a pair that used to play this switch on a 1D opening, I think its the same thing here. I think you get a very small gain of by the switch, in price of more complex system.

If you didnt have queen ask explained in your RCKB reference, then you should not trust it, as asking for Q is basic part of RCKB. (it was explained on the first result on my google search for RKCB)

I like the general idea, but i dont think the gain of opening bal 8 points is enough, so i think this trick can be part of different opening structure with stronger major opening bid (fantunes?) then then 1NT range can be something like 10-12.

I think what the court said is not that bridge isnt sport, but that given the enlish union definition of sport, bridge is not a sport.

i think you dont have enough to justify taking the bid one level lower. you also take out multi nicest point which is having your first bid as p/c to make it playable you need to change the hand types of 2C inorder to get more of your 2M rebid (maybe both majors hands ?), and maybe even add some hands that would pass 2D response. if on the table you will get enough sequences of 2C-2D-2H and maybe some 2C-2D-p then you will rock.

I totally agree with almost everything you said glen. The one thing that I am not totally sure about it the your claim that the total revenue would go down, which is the reasson I started this thread.

Hello, As I'm sure almost anyone here knows, dan has a great site (bridgewithdan.com) , for years it offered free system matterial, it still does but begining i think about 2 years ago, dan focus more on adding writeups that aren't free. This is normal, however atleast for me, those prices are way too high. I know from what dan wrote on this forum that atleast for some of the books there isn't that many buyers. I wonder if lowering the prices would make more people buy it. Hope this isn't offending or something like that.(if so please remove)

the 1♦ looks very bad to me. I think you took many ideas which individually could be right and decided to put all together which is a little mess.

Check out the way forward system, the 1D is 11-13 bal, or 10-15 unbal without 5M or 6m. 1h is relay or nat. the structure is good, but not easy to remember.
