They are all eliminated and are not assigned ranking (and it has no effect on future seeding, which is pre-determined before the tournament, see the "format" sheet). If you're in top 7 of each group in round1, you are advanced. - For the two 8th places, I let natali_ from group1 adv. because that's the only group where all 11 people complete (8 out of 11 harder than 8 out of 10). meekbird is eliminated for being responsible for not completing 1 match. The only cross-comparison is between wackojack and mofumofu, I pick wackojack to adv. given that even if he's only assigned 5.5 pts instead of 7pts for the match opp fails to complete, the VP is still higher than the one mofumofu gets. mofumofu will get the "bubble price" of 0.5 seeding points but will not be in round 2. -There will be no carryover from previous rounds throughout this event (and probably most/all BBF challenge events).

Does the next Sunday sounds like a reasonable deadline for the 1st round?

For players new to the tournament could people remind them the format and things like that when sending challenge? What does this mean?

Any more people confirm this? If this is the case that 0nsfvalue is not playing, I'll assign score (without effecting other people's ranking in that group). I won't put further penalty because it's partly my fault not reading the post careful enough.

Thanks for everyone who reports scores here. I have busy schedule these two days and will make sure I enter the score to worksheet by this weekend. For a few people who have access to edit the file, you can also do that.

Previously barmar can ask BBO to make exception for people in this event to use adv. bot for free. I'm not sure if it's still available. If not, I think the fair way is for everyone to use basic bot (and free). For the two matches by ArtK78 I'll still count but please don't make further challenge before further instruction. That sounds like a good idea. For example if the score in the group is like 60,60,58,55,51,51,50,45,41,40,39. Then we follow the procedure to decide which 60 should be first and which should be second. After that we decide which 51 should be 5th and which 51 should be 6th. You report it by replying to this thread with hand record and score. See the thread of earlier events for examples.

OK that is fine. Finish the 4 bds challenge. (To everyone), in the future don't make this happen, I don't think broze is one of those who will do this, but people can exploit it by stop playing in the middle of a bad board.

I totally agree with this. A while ago there was another discussion on this. My hope is in the near future we can find BBO has a much longer (like 1~2 Month) survival tournament (that plays much more boards) that can replace this forum event eventually. It will be much more efficient for BBO to organize it.

I set up the KO pairing in "R16,QF", take a look at it, you can start (4 sets, each set 16 boards, IMP, best hand). Try to finish each round approximately in 1 week (OK to delay a little). Frank

In this round you only have 5 matches to play (still 16bds, IMP, best hand). The deadline will be the end of this month, but you are encouraged to play faster.
