  1. You don't even want to know where real computer viruses are at, these days.
  2. I think 4♠ by you is any strong two-suited hand. I could never figure out the continuations though. GIB would bid something like 5♣ with the explanation saying "forced" and then you're again at a loss whether to bid 6 or correct or pass or what.
  3. Yeah, it's well known adware. This might be relevant: http://botcrawl.com/how-to-remove-text-enhance/
  4. Not sure whether you're being sarcastic. I think your third bid should've been 2♠ and not 1NT, which would've told GIB you're either 4=4=1=4 or 4=4=2=3. The final contract is obvious and you also get there if GIB splinters after 1♥.
  5. Probably the button titles? You want to reply, so you click on "reply". Then you get to a screen that has a button called "add reply" so you click on that to add your reply and boom, you get a post with only the quote.
  6. It's WWGB, not WSGB, right?
  7. I'm not sure I understand the question. N ducks, E wins ♣K and ducks a club. The next club is ruffed in dummy and W has two good clubs.
  8. I think stealing an extra level in an already game-forcing auction should require something really special going on. I looked who voted "yes" so I'm probably wrong, but personally I try to avoid jumping in 2/1 auctions, unless the jump is worth the amount of bidding space we'll lose.
  9. hrothgar, it's GIBberish that's the problem. Most humans wouldn't consider a 3NT opening, which is what GIB expects S to do with a 25-26 balanced. Once you go 2♣, all NT rebids show the same thing I believe.
  10. You may want to embed this in the first post, replacing some of the content: [hv=pc=n&s=sk32haq32dcjt9432&n=sa54hkj654dqj9cak&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1h2d3d(LR+%20in%20%21H)p3s(Cue)p4d(Cue)p4n(RKCB)p5c(1/4)p5d(Q%3F)p5s(Yes%20+%20%21SK)p6hppp]266|200[/hv]
  11. georgi said he's going to teach GIB to raise 5 to 6 if the human signs off opposite the "0 or 3" response, maybe he can do something here as well.
  12. One possible problem is that 2♥ and 3♥ have the same description in GIB's system. You can't set trumps after 2♣, GIB has to agree.
  13. That's not a great answer though, because let's say he also had the ♥A, he can't raise GIB's pass of 5♦ to slam.
  14. What's with the ♥Q lead though? I could understand if GIB led the ace, but who leads Q from AQx?
  15. To be honest I've often toyed with the idea of suggesting a "partner GIB" that plays worse but wins post-mortems with humans, i.e program in some bias towards leading partner's suit, underruff only when it's the only legal play, prefer leading fourth best from length vs. NT instead of what your simulations suggest, etc. Just program in a bunch of maxims and require a relatively high threshold of confidence in the simulation result to ignore them. I suspect most people would prefer that version.
  16. Can someone in the know explain a bit about how bots know whether or not to accept claims? I don't remember seeing a section about that in Ginsberg's paper and I'm really curious how the bots know whether you really have a LOP in mind or not. Thanks.
  17. Posting private messages is kind of an icky thing to do, FYI.
  18. 1eyedjack, it increases the fun for them. If you're emotionally invested in the game, you enjoy watching it much more.
  19. I think xxx is a help-suit game try, not short suit. Opposite what I consider short-suit, I don't want to play 3NT.
  20. Now I'm really curious where you're from. Palestine? The Falkland Islands?
  21. What was 2NT over 2♠? GIB sometimes has those surprising sign-off bids, like cheapest minor or next step after reverse.
  22. [hv=pc=n&s=sqt75432hdq32ca98&w=skj9hq42da8765cqj&n=sa86hajt763dckt54&e=shk985dkjt94c7632&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1hp1sp2hp2sppd(1)p3n(2)ppdp4s(3)pp5d(4)5s(5)ppdppp]399|300[/hv] Basic bots, none vul, IMPS. I disagree with no less than five calls (alerted) 1 - east doubles for takeout when we're likely in a 6-1 fit. The description says 4+♣ 4+♦ 5-♥ 5-♠; 14-16 TP. I don't think his lousy 7-count fits. 2 - W jumps to 3NT opposite the TO double holding a balanced 13-count. It's the book bid (13-18 HCP, stoppers in both majors) but why on earth would W expect it to make? 3 - N takes out south's penalty double (the description of X is 10 TP, 2-♥, 6+♠) holding ♠Axx. How many stoppers does he expect W to have? 4 - W balances 5♦ with his very likely trump tricks and a cashing ace. 5 - N, who was willing to subside in 2♠, bids 5/5.
  23. I thought you drove trucks? In any case, in my mind it's complex because it appears late in BridgeMaster. It's entirely possible the concept isn't that advanced, since unlike squeezes you can know for sure what the situation is.
