  1. +1 to Fujiko, that sounds like a good solution.
  2. No, the deal was a boring part score: 1♦-(p)-1♥-(1♠) 2♥-(2♠)-p-(p) I competed to 3♥ and GIB went one down, didn't bother checking if 2♠ was making. I did deliberate for about a whole minute about whether or not to open.
  3. I was actually more worried about the eight-card spade fit. I guess my error was assuming this must be a partscore hand.
  4. Winstonm, is that construction consistent with both opponents passing?
  5. IMPs, all vul, three passes to you. [hv=pc=n&s=shj743dajt42caq62&d=w&v=b&b=4&a=ppp]133|200[/hv] Is this an opening hand? If so, is it still an opening hand if you reverse the minors?
  6. Haha I get to post in the expert forum! http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/topic/62869-ten-to-twenty-the-controversial-lead-from-bali/
  7. This is petty, but in iOS 7 there's a feature where the application icon grows to fill the screen when clicked. The current BBO mobile app icon is low resolution so it looks pretty awful. (On the plus side, haven't noticed any serious issues in iOS 7 iPad 3)
  8. Well, a mild objection at least.
  9. (Guys, it's a double dummy play problem) Looks like repeated endplays. T1 win ♠A. T2 play ♥Q. E covers, win ♥A. T3 ♠ finesse to dummy. T4 duck ♥ to W. T5 win return (let's say ♣K) T6 ♦A, W can't unblock profitably. T7 ♦ to W. T8 W exits top ♣, win in hand. T9 cash ♦J TT cash ♥T TJ ♠ finesse TQ cash last ♠ TK cash ♦Q
  10. One suggestion is to search the forums: http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/topic/54526-bboskill/ http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/topic/56854-rating-system/ http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/topic/54138-player-level/ http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/topic/35525-rating-players/
  11. My limited experience agrees with Zel. In my club, I only claim if one hand is clearly high (that is to say, having a 13th card of a suit in NT is not good enough). Otherwise, playing it out takes considerably less time.
  12. Yeah. You get the same thing with inverted minor raise by a passed hand. The description says forcing, but GIB passes it if it feels like it. CPU if I ever saw one.
  13. You sort of ruined the hustle there, Zel.
  14. To end the teasing: http://web2.acbl.org/nabcbulletins/1997summer/db2.pdf
  15. FWIW I thought the expertise of the expert forum would be self-regulated. Post silly stuff in the expert forum and the experts will either shun you or make fun of you.
  16. There's no speculation in my post. The 4NT hover said it's RKCB for clubs.
  17. Didn't they increase the amount of space in there a while back? I personally feel my "Other" field offers a good description of what I expect from pick-ups (i.e. what I perceive as BBO standard)
  18. Alerted as "transfer accepted"
  19. If ♠ are trump, why is 4NT RKCB for clubs?
  20. GIB E opens 1NT, I overcall 2♦ for the majors. Now GIB W bids 3NT, which is alerted as Leb. GIB E duly bids 4♣ at which point both GIBs froze when realizing their misbids so I never saw what GIB W held. Do they really need two Lebensohls?
  21. GIB saw the thread and decided to have a laugh. 1NT-2♦ 2♥-3♦ 4♦-4♥ (still the "5+♥, 4+♦, GF") From this point onward, I could do nothing to make GIB play in diamonds. Any number of diamonds was a cue bid and 4NT was RKCB for hearts. I thought it's counting on my doubleton heart at least, but it just had KTxxx so 6♦ was a much better contract. Its diamonds were T9xx which is what might've gotten him scared, but still, trust your partner (who happened to have ♦AKQJx, no joke)
  22. 1♣-2♠ (Rebiddable spades, 17+) 3♠-4♥ (A ♥ splinter for ♣, despite 3♠ showing 3 card support for ♠) 4NT (RKCB for ♣)-5NT (even + void) Now 6♣ is a cue bid for spades? Why show me club keycards then? The bot's hand: ♠AKT32 ♥- ♦KJ7 ♣QJ984
