Ah yes North is on my left hand side not on my right as the diagram indicates. :) Then K♠ will solve the problem. But if you were on a finesse then with 3433 your pd should have discarded a spade rather than a heart. :)

Partner looking at K, Q97xxx, xxx, xxx pointed out that he should have pitched K♠ as his first discard at which point I can't go wrong. Equally if he assumes I have ♥J10 for my lead, playing the 9 (we play the highest non significant card usually the second highest) at trick 1 would tell me he had the Q so again I can pitch hearts. Even playing the Q♥ at tricks 1 or 4 would do as he clearly has several of them, and if he pitches the Q he must have the 9. Why would you pitch your singleton K♠? The declarer will just finesse your Q♠ and make the contract. From the signalling you assume partner has 3433. But why is he discarding ♥ when he has 4. I think with 3433 he will discard a spade to show you his odd number rather than discarding ♥ to show you he has 4. How can a ♠ lose when he has 3?Therefore he should have 6 ♥.

I dont know whether it is just me but I will just sign off in 4♠. I prefer a plus score :D

I will play the A♣. From what I understand X is not penalty and has the meaning to compete. Therefore, I doubt he would dbl with KQx♣ - more likely his pd has singleton honour♣ or 2nd. After the A♣ I will play another ♣ and draw trumps if they turn to be 3-1. I will also carefully watch what LHO discards. If he parts with 2♥ then I will ruff a ♥ and play ♠ to the K♠ and ♠ just covering and now LHO will be endplayed. If he doesnt discard ♥ then I will play ♠ to the K and if it wins then I will play my KQ♦ to be good. I dont think RHO will DBl with A♥, ♣ honour and 2 Jacks. Therefore, I will play the X over 1♣ to be more aggressive. If trumps turn up to be 2-2 then I will ruff ♥ and play ♠ to the K and ♠ back covering and end playing LHO. In any case if my K♠ loses then I will finess J♦.

I dont think pd will bid 3nt with xx KQxx KQxxx Kx - even tho it is aceless 13 partner has 17+points outside ♥, with chances for slam very very high. I will defo cu bid 4♣ rather than sign off.
-
I would pass. Over my 3♥ bid shortage and most of the time 18points partner decided to settle in 3nt. Also for the 3NT bid I think pd must stop ♥ twice or at least 1.5 :) Because I dont understand wanting to play there opposite my 17-18 points on avarage, having a singleton ♥, surely he could either sign off in 5♦ or bid something else. :P In addition, even if we go down in 3nt and we have 5♦ I dont want to correct partner because pretty much I have described my hand and he decided that 3nt would be the better spot. Hence, I will pull 3nt only when I have values for slam or very unbalanced hand and :)
-
Declarer cant have 3♦ because partner has either 2 o 4.
-
If declarer has 8♣ in hand and LHO turns to be 3631 then duck the 8♣. If the 8 is in dummy oh well I think RHO has no defence in case clubs are 5-1 when you play small to the 8♣ and cover cheaply LHO card or even 9 or 10 and then duck the return to dummy's 8. :P
-
If LHO is 3-6-2-2, no need to gambit your 3rd♦. Just cash all ♦ and play KJ♣. At the end RHO will give you a spade :)
-
I suppose you will finess with the 10♣ :P
-
It really depends how many cards is 2♦ because some play it 5+cards then you dont need the Q♦ as you have 10 :) To me she didn't understand 4♦ was RKC and just cu bidded with 4♠ and then when no RKC came with 4NT, probably missing ♣ cu, she would just raise to 6♦ - partner should clearly has 2A and you dont need the Q as you have 5♦, also you got the ♣ cu :) Therefore, a raise to 6♦ is not so unreasonable :) Also showing 2Aces with a Q♦ is not unreasonable when you have at least 10 cards, if 2♦ is 5+. In addition, some think that you dont need the Q if you have 9cards. Therefore, I think 6♦ bid would be reasonable if she misbidded so hard :)
-
From the low club lead I assume he has 3 cards. Then 6♥ 2♠ 2 ruffs and 2♦ are 12 tricks. Win, cash one ♥ if everyone follows, then cash one ♠, ♦ to the ace small ♦ ruff, ♣ ruff, ♦ ruff, ♣ or ♠ ruff if LHO has 2♣, draw trumps. If trumps are 4-0 cash two more ♠, ♦ to the ace, ♦ ruff, cash the K♥, ♣ ruff, draw trumps.
-
The above line wins in most cases. If he returns ♣ you discard a ♦ - you are going to lose 2♣ and 1♦. When I play trumps I would play 10♥ if LHO shows out cash trumps and duck a ♣ - the same end play. If LHO has 4♥ then it becomes interesting and I suppose you will need A♦ in place because if spades are 4-1 with RHO and A♦ in him as well you are down. Anyway I will play a club to the 10 and then expass the ♣ honour if spades are 4-1 :) Might consider a squeez as well depending on how it turns out :)
-
If we compare it playing low ♦ towards the Q and then cashing the Ace, losing against singleton King as 6.22 and adding another 3/4ths of 6.22% as 10.8%, that line gains immediately in 20.34% of the cases: J10 - 6.78, J2 - 6.78, 102 - 6.78 = 20.34% of the time. And if we add a singleton King♦ in LHO - another 6.22 increases to 26.56%. Not sure I calculated it correctly tho :P What do you think? :)
-
I will just bid 5♦ over 2♦ :P I dont want to miss game even against minimum. True I can go down but I am willing to take the risk :)
-
Win, cash the diamonds, discarding 2♠ from dummy and hope ♣ are 4-2, playing KJ♣. If LHO turns up with 3♦ then he is probably 3631, cash the ♦ then play low club and hope to have a singleton 6♣ so you can duck it :P or if RHO hasnt discarded all his spades then play KJ♣ (4225). :D If ♦ are 1-4 with RHO then play a 4th one and he is endplayed :)
-
Ah Yes wrong counting :D I would play RHO for 1462 then rather than 0463 because 10♣ could cost a trick if my pd has the J♣ so I would play they have misdefended rather than 10♣ as a false card and duck 9 ♠ :) Plus if LHO is 4324 and my 9 is covered by 10♠ I would come in hand with ♣ and ruff a ♥, ruff ♦ high and finess the 8♠.
-
It really depends how good your opponents are. I would play them for bad ones :P I will play LHO for 2326 and RHO 2452 rather than RHO 1453 and duck the 9♠. So I would ruff ♥, ruff ♦ high, draw trumps :) Also that 10♣ cant be a false card, cause dummy is Q9x - I might easily have 3 small♣ :) Nevertheless, if it is a false card oh well wrong table :D
-
I will bid either DBL and spades or 4♦ Leaping michales. If I have bidded like that I will be 4♠. Even if I go down in 4♠ I am pretty sure they would have a game. It could be a double swing as well or go completely wrong. :)
-
I play odd= I have something, even lavinthal. Then count - original count, lets say 852 - I discard 2 for the lowest suit and then play the 8 i.e. odd number. Or you can play present count and play the 5 i.e. I have even left but that confuses me :) K8752 - I play the 5 then discard the 8 to get the count message clearer :) But still thats a preference. You can play low enc, high disc and then count. But agree whether you play original or present :)

I think it might be useful to add 2♠ art - asking for shortage, now none/low/middle/high, or 2sp art and now 2nt looking for something in spades, 3cl/3di the same. Otherwise as I dont play 2he as inv 10-11, I would bid game opposite 3he inv 10-12 so the same principle apply here at least for me :P
