  1. 1) K di 2) Asp - if someone does not follow,i will rely on the hearts, with finessing the king and establishing the hearts later on. 3) Ahe - he ruff with 9 well if I am overrufed, I would call it unlucky :) Also I increase my chances after drawing Ace of spades in the case of a singleton ten. 4) then it is easy. - go to Ksp, ruff he high,Jsp, ruff he and Adi is an entry to hearts :).
  2. I am for a pass. If partner is stronger, he would rebid 2di to check my overcall, and when he is a general MF. So now he has around 10nish with 5(6) clubs and possible 4th heart.
  3. 1)About 1di - DBL - P I think with Kxxx xxxx xx xxx it is better to bid 1he than 1sp and then rebidding 2he, because you will show 5th spade and 4th heart. With 1he bidding you dont deny 4th spade whereas with 1sp bid you will have 4th heart only when you are 5th sp and 4he. 2) About 1di - DBL - 1he - P 2di - DBL - It is difficult to show 3-3 so I think 2sp would be the less harmful one although you have 3 cards, because the problem is when partner pass out your 2he bid and you in 3-2 fit. So considering the worst that can happen is 4sp 4-3 fit and 2he 3-2(3) fit. You decide which one is better.
  4. Good effort... Assuming best defence, how do you play the diamonds finesse or drop? Just a slight improvement on your line is to keep the heart in hand, coming down to the following 3 card ending... 8 - x x - x KJ - On playing the last club RHO pitches a spade and you + RHO pitch a heart. And on playing the diamond RHO follows small… Now do you play for the drop or finesse? 1. Could you apply the vacant spaces rule here with club suit distribution known (3-1 with LHO)? (and hearts (4-4)) 2. Or are the odds still in favour of RHO holding the Q of diamonds knowing he started off with at least 5 diamonds (watching the discards). BR Viren About the slight improvement of the hand. I dont think having x♥ KJ♦ is better than J♠ and KJ ♦ because you misses the automated squeez in East. Furthermore if you can conclude that Q♠ is in East you can safely put K♦. About the vacant space rule I believe looking at the lead and return would give you more info about the heart distrubution. One sligh improvement would be to ruff 3rd heart to see whether the suit is 6-2. Now counting 6♥ 2♠ 1♦ and 3♣, I think it will be betther to finess Q♦ to be in East because of the ♦ length, unless you know that he has Q♠ and in the 2 card ending he has Q♠ and 1♦.
  5. I dont know the odds but my line will be: 1) duck heart 2) win lets say he return 3) draw trumps 4) cash Adi 5) cash 2top spades 6) draw the rest of the trumps - on the last trump(position 8♠ x♦ x♣ against J♠ KJ♦) it is possible for an automatic squeez against East with Q♠ and Q♦ 7) 8♠ x♦ against KJ♦ in hand 8) If 10♠ and/or Q♠ hasnt dropped, play a small ♦ and decide whether to play on squeez in East with Q10♠ and Q♦ or just to finess. Watching the discards carefully and hope to gain some useful information. Did I make it or not? :)
  6. I think you should win with K♦ and play a ♥ to K, then J of spades, if it wins small spade to the Q then Ace and cash AQhe and go to the dummy with a trump. From the bidding and the lead I suppose East had AQ♣ A♦. It is a fair call to say that he had K♠ as well]. Also 3clubs is preemptive, so with Kxxxxx and QJ9x♦ it would be normal to bid 3♣. Also whether to hook the J of hearts, I think you should play for the drop because West had 6 clubs for his bid, 1 or 2 spades and 4diamonds, cause I think with 4th diamond and 3rd club East would have opened 1di. So pretty much he is likely to have at least 3hearts, why not even 4. Therefore finessing the 2(3)cards of West is pointless.
  7. [hv=pc=n&s=skhkdaqt875ck8765&d=n&v=0&b=1&a=1h3s]133|200|Whatever you bid ur pd bids 4he[/hv]
  8. Generally it is the same logic. You bidded a t/o dbl and the opps REDBL, your partner has to choose which suit. Unfortunately you cant play the contract with XX, you cant have everything
  9. What would be 5cl then? to play?
  10. You hold as West AKxx KQJx xx AKx All vul, North deals, North Partner South you p p 3di DBL p 4sp p ? What do you bid and what does it mean.
