I would think if you use adjustments to loser count you are better than 7 losers. NT only pays more if the exact tricks are available. With a likely 9-card fit spades will often provide an extra trick.

I too like your system. Using 2♥ as bust causes problems with strong heart hands. Bidding past 3NT and rebidding 4♣ on a 5-card suit which has already been shown is where the problem is!

It depends on what the convention card says whether it is a psyche. 5 is the normal accepted suit length partnership agreement without requiring an alert. ACBL does require a pre-alert if you have an agreement to routinely open weak 2's with such poor suit quality but I have never seen it enforced if they don't.

This is a near-perfect 1NT opening and it will be hard to show 16 hcp later if you don't open 1NT. Even people who don't always open 1NT with a 5-card major should be highly considering 1NT here.

After a 1NT opening, it is standard to sign-off in 2M with 5 cards and a weak hand. This is because a 5-2 fit often plays better than 1NT and you may have an 8+card fit. So, it would seem logical to sign-off in 2M with a weak hand and 5-cards after 1m-1M-1NT. Yet after 1m-1M-1NT, i have a lot of partners where 2M promises 6-cards. The only reason I can see for this is if 1N could be a singleton. But with a singleton, I think you should be avoiding bidding 1NT. What do you think?
