Bump. I'm still looking for a couple people, preferably on a time zone that is compatible with North America. Need helper for late evening - till 2-3AM European hours (which is afternoon-evening for NA).

Has anything changed with your Mac -- an upgrade, new internet, new antivirus -- con you think of anything that might be related to this inability to login? I assume you used to be able to login before, is this correct?

We can help with this actually. It is common for tournament hosts to need multiple logins permissions. Let's follow-up via email.

It's virtual ACBL Clubs. These accounts have been implemented a bit differently from the rest (some hardcoded features for example) which is why they have other expected behaviour for some settings and features. I don't recall right now why the howell host has to be online (probably because when user is offline the system cannot "read" whether it has howell access or not), but we'll check what it would take to remove this limitation.

I'm looking for someone familiar with the BBO software, who has experience running online tournaments. No certification required, this is an entry level job, for helping supervise a series of free tournaments. Sociability, easiness in working with people and good command of English are a plus. Take me to first seat is very random and non-committal. If you are looking for a less random experience try "List interesting tables". This will suggest a few tables with free seats that might be interesting to you. However the tables are locked, so it will be up to the host to accept you or not. Games with open seats are just that - all welcome, no requirements. Table hosts with extra requirements, typically select "permission required to join", in order to avoid table hoppers.

This is not correct. When the TD uses a setting that delays start until all players are available, if someone is not available at start time the TD sees a message saying something to the effect of: Player X in pair X+Y missing, or not enough BB$ This means one of the players is not online, or not enough BB$. Since the partner is paying, it means the missing player is not online (or not in the Competitive server).

It sounds like one of them was not online or available when the tournament started. If you send me the details (your friend's username, the tourney she tried to play, or her partner's username) we'll be able to check and let her know exactly what went wrong. Send these to me in a private message and we'll take a look.

BBO loads in pieces. That sort of incomplete screen may occur when the site didn't fully finish to load. I suspect you shortly regained your identity.

Use "clocked" in the tourney settings. In unclocked, fast players meet fast players and slow players meet slow players. The logic is: as you finish, you move on.

BBO was down from approximately 8pm on Tuesday evening until 4am Wednesday morning (US Eastern Time). This was due to repeated hardware failures at one of our main servers. Players were unable to login for most of this time, and many saw database errors and other system errors. As of Wednesday morning BBO is back and players can login again. Our team is still working on backup servers and recovering after the outage. We’ll prepare refunds for the players who were playing in pay games at the time, once the extent of the damage is known. We’re very sorry that this has happened. We’ll update this announcement once we’ve more information.

Hi, We're looking for someone who is very familiar with the BBO software, a bridge player and good at nitpicking. I guess that describes half of BBO's population :) Now seriously, we need help with bug fixing, feature testing, making sure nothing breaks when we release new features.
