  1. 2♠ without a second thought
  2. 4♠. For this particular hand it would be nice if 4♥ was a general force, but I reckon it shows a heart control. Also partner could be fairly weak with four spades for his double, so not going to the five level. Would be surprised if slam is on and partner can't bid again.
  3. I think for the later parts of the auction GIB simulates possible hands for you based on what it knows, and then picks the best bid. With your "twice rebiddable" hearts presumably 4♥ makes more often than 3NT. I think with some luck both games make here.
  4. Else North (opener's partner) gets squeezed in hearts and clubs?
  5. If I've got all the cards arranged correctly, looks like 4♠ and 5♦ were both off one.
  6. Agree 1♥ then spades. Think some play a responding reverse does show an opening bid though (which is fine here).
  7. To show an invitational raise double then raising hearts makes sense - but what about a monster hand (with only three hearts), does that also have to redouble then raise hearts? Incidentally I like rhm's suggestion here to just bid 4♥ on this hand, though the problem there is you're pretending to have a preemptive hand, and partner may then sacrifice or fail to double opponents if e.g. they get to 5♦.
  8. I'd play diamonds first just to try and make the contract. Other tables may have got a spade lead.
  9. Happy with 3♠, definitely pass now. Opener only has two spades, and has suggested a heart stop by bidding 3NT (though he may have been a bit stuck for a bid).
  10. I really do favour a 3♠ opening here - I added the emoticon to show that the suggestion it's a clear-cut 3♠ opener is a joke. Hanoi5 - can you tell us what you (or whoever had this hand) did at the table?
  11. Opening 1♠ is no good, you make things easy for opponents and hard for your partner. How's he ever going to know you actually had a 3♠ opener? :)
  12. I'll double, partly as might get us to a good (or bad) 4♥.
  13. I wasn't thinking about slam until I saw the other posts - was happy with 5♣.
  14. I'd open 3♠, it fits the description well enough.
  15. I like pass, risky though as you probably have 4♠ your way. I can't see your diagram above in IE9 (but can in Firefox 13).
  16. I think you were unlucky, it's a fortuitious game that is on a club finesse anyway. I don't think I'd get there after a weak NT either.
  17. On a heart lead declarer may still go down if he finesses in clubs, which is likely considering all the extra hearts you've shown.
  18. An IB might come from picking up the wrong bidding card, or from not correctly noticing a previous bid. You can't tell which without asking. So it's possible the 1♣ overcaller in bluejak's example thought he was overcalling 2♣, or the 2♦ responder in the original problem thought he was opening the bidding.
  19. I'd be in 3NT going down. 6♣ looks like a lucky make,
  20. I agree that Flash isn't the right thing for Smartphones, but still annoying it's not supported. http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/
  21. If we're playing weak jump overcalls I'm bidding 2♠. You could argue the hand is too weak, but there's plus points too - most of your points in spades, a singleton, and if opps play in hearts they will misguess the queen of hearts.
  22. Forcing. Never discussed this specifically, but I think what you do over your partner's preempts dictates what you do here. For example, I play that if partner opens with a weak two then a new suit by me is forcing. This is because it's so rare you want to change the trump suit when partner's already shown a long suit of his own. For the same reason I take 4♠ in the original problem as forcing, and agreeing hearts.
