  1. 1. try hosted a team match in web client 2. created the team match without assigning any names. 3. successfully get messages from others interested to join. 4. i put myself into south by inviting myself. 5. i am placed as player as south. 6. i am not able to assign other players who messaged me. 7. i am stuck.
  2. what I mean is actually hand writing input. For Chinese, we hand write Chinese characters on the screen to the device.
  3. have tried it on my 4.3" device. I would suggest that if play could be input using text (S/H/D/C + Akqjt98765432) it would be much more playable. Or is it already supported?
  4. Does anyone have a portable version of BBO windows client (the download one)?
  5. Assume bbo (web version) runs on nexus one android 2.2 supporting flash. anyone tried that? screen shots?
  6. Planning to buy a 10.1" netbook. Presume no problem running BBOweb on netbook? Any experience sharing? would the screen be too small? <_< :)
  7. Thanks Ben. My situation seems a bit different .... I could browse the bbo home page, posting in forum, all other internet activities... but just that i could not play bbo, no matter bbo win or bbo flash. It keeps on losing connection .... :( ;) ;)
  8. Recently could not connect to BBO (both BBOWIN, and BBO Flash). Both keep on connection lost. Other connections (e.g. browsing, email of non BBO sites) are fine. Friends using same ISP get similar problem. Appears to be ISP problem. Any info I could provide if writing to the ISP for checking. ;)
  9. "Too small to be useful" is a function of your monitor size and the quality of your eyesight. Even if you have a small monitor and poor eyesight, I suspect you can find a setting for the main horizontal slider that will make both areas "big enough to be useful". If not then here are some suggestions: 1) Move the slider's position whenever you need to give one area more space 2) Get a bigger monitor 3) Get eye glasses that do some magnifying 4) Spend the occasional BB$ thereby removing the ad from your screen and creating more horizontal space I think it is highly unlikely that we will create button that does the same thing as 1) above. Fred Gitelman Bridge Base Inc. www.bridgebase.com " "Too small to be useful" is a function of your monitor size and the quality of your eyesight." Agree. Translation "Too small to be useful" is a function of your $$ and age. BTW, there is a hand diagram (of prev hand) at bottom right hand corner, and the current hand at the main / middle area. Logically, with 2 hands at the same screen, "best"/"appropriate" size of hand diagram is not quite possible then (unless half the screen is the best size)? assuming that one needs to look at both hands on the same screen .... looking at current / prev hand at different times suggests some way of toggling .... Joking .... dont take it too seriously ....    thanks inquiry for info. the problem is not only on feasibility, but convenience also.
  10. during hand play, the right hand panel (my results) showing the prev score and hand diagram is too small to be useful. If slide it to bigger size, the main hand play window becomes too small, and vice versa. is there any plan to improve this, e.g. a button somewhere clicking which toggle the screen between hand play, and (prev result + hand). not sure if raised before though ... :D B) ;)
  11. when would Chinese characters be supported in BBO Web? ;)
  12. got a FD file with Norweigan style inputted e.g. - 5443 openings - open lower of 44 I am at GMT+8, EST+13 (day light saving months). Anyone interested pls drop me a line at andy.chung.0@gmail.com :) :)
  13. Would GIB bid better if playing precision? GIB knows partner being limited to 16 early. Does GIB already support playing precision? :P :)
  14. Great announcement :D :) Please also describe GIB defensive carding / leads in the "Click here for GIB system notes" page.
  15. If you allow 1NT to have 5cM, there is no simple way to decide what to open with a 5cM hand. So I will ignore that. I assume that 12 HCP is the minimum opening strength, there is no strong bid to set an upper limit to the HCP. If you take the rule of 18 as a general definition for an opening (and you don't want to open a lot of them) about 55-60% of all deals an opener gets, are a PASS. 8.6% of all deals are 1♣ openings (not allowing 5cm's in NT) 0.63% of all deals are a 1♣ opening and contain only 3 ♣. => ~7.3% of the 1♣ openings have only 3♣. 6.8% of all deals have ♥ as longest suit (5+) or the shape is {3433, 4432, 4423} (15-17HCP excluded) 1.6% of all deals have the shape {3433, 4432, 4423} (15-17HCP excluded) => 23.5% of the 1♥ openings show a 4 card suit Thank you very much hotShot  My guess on 1♥ opening with 4 cards is so poor. :P BTW also have to thank FrancisHinden, and who is so close to 23.5% ... amazing... :)
  16. Thanks for the figures. 3424, 2434, 4234 or 4324 hands are opened 1♣ as I know. Opener lower of 44. Assume 1NT is 15-17 with 5cM allowed. For simplicity assume all 20+ hands are opened 2♣/2NT/etc. May I know the following? A % of hands are PASS. B % of hands opens 1♣. Within these B%, B1% hands with only 3 cards. C% of hands opens 1♦ D % of hands opens 1♥. Within these D%, D1% hands with only 4 cards. E% of hands opens 1♠ My wild guess :) ... 30 % of hands are PASS. 20 % of hands opens 1♣. Within these 20%, 5% hands with only 3 cards. 20 % of hands opens 1♦ 10 % of hands opens 1♥. Within these 10%, 8% hands with only 4 cards. 10% of hands opens 1♠ The other 10% hands are 2♣/1NT/2NT/weak 2 openings. Like to know how poor is my guess  :D Thanks
  17. As far as I know, for norwaigen openings Anyone has a dealer program to tell 1) the % of time 1♥ opening is only 4 card? 2) the % of time 1♣ opening is only 3 card? ;) :D :P B)
  18. Suppose u use multi 2♦ (weak 2M or strong 2NT), what would you like to play 2♥ and 2♠ opening for? :D
  19. I learnt of the captioned recently. Have you read it before and what is your comments? Any other title you would recommend?  :D :( B)
  20. It is said that 90% of individual investor end up losing. Let see if the bridge community beat the public. :( I know at least one bridge player who is winning. You know who I am referring to .... BTW could he be classified as "Individual Investor" though?
  21. What do you think of US stock market? :(
  22. Found the 3rd suit forcing (Further after opening on 1-level) here http://www.biddingquest.com/system/SD_Norw...nses%20to%202NT Any better reference? Comments about the link? Any Norweigan features not mentioned? :D :( :D :D :D
  23. When viewing hand records online via www.bridgebase.com my hands, the EW hands and the table are shifted downwards. While viewing offline from HDD, there is no such problem. :P :D   B)
