Hi Maureen Yes having an 'Exclusion' does work for 'known' offenders which is why we use it But as we are 'ACOL ONLY Tournaments' we need an Include list This does not mean that Acol Players cannot join If their Partner asks the TD we can/will include them As for TD's banning ALL Newbies That is Wrong

Maureen is the way to do this like the one we use for Acol Club Members only competitions To use INCLUDE lists and EXCLUDE lists THen all 'Newbies' need to do is ask for their name/alias to be INCLUDED

As Oof states splitting 18 tables into 2 sections just is not Swiss pairs The 2 highest should always play each other (Except when they have played them on a previous round) Splitting into sections makes the term Swiss Pairs a total misnomer :blink: Please Please Prgrammers Re - Think :rolleyes:

mmmm diana we have a small problem when we set up Tournaments we can put in restrictions lists Friends/Enemies However If we need Substitutes to make up the movement we have noticed that those on the enemies list can get in Why??? ;)

mmmm well seeing as how Acol is 4 Card Majors and generally Weak NT (12-14) (even though fylistines are playing Strong NT (15 - 17) No problem Either way If you are Balanced with a 4 card major and 12 - 14 you open 1NT partner can use stayman if they hold a 4 card major opposite ::: With the hand you put them with 1 3 4 5 and that point count they can use the best bid in the book and PASS If you are playing Strong NT then you open 1 Major then re-bid NT to show WEAK NT You can also open 1NT with a Grotty 5 card major ie 1 that is not re-biddable :P
