  1. South looks like 5 hearts and no good sp stop something like Qx AQ98x KQJx Ax. Partner seems to signalling neutral if he is lavinthaling at all. I guess a diamond though this could easily give the contract but so can a heart or a club. This hand gives me a headache.
  2. If it is invitational i still would be reluctant to pass with my clean hand so yeah 4 spades it is, also because this sequence is bad for gf hands with spades who must go through 4rth suit. Its forcing in most serious partnerships.
  3. I think this as a hand where you go easily wrong. I did anyway. PLaying one round of clubs before the spades meant one down. The east hand that did open one club: sp 1097 hearts Q876 dims KQ clubs KQ83. After three rounds of spades you play a club to the nine, east excits with a small club, you take the jack seeing west discard on this trick, cash the ace of hearts and throw east back in via ace and another club for a heart back.
  4. If you start with the spades you find them 3-3. If you start with a club to the nine east takes with the king and returns the spade nine.
  5. Think partner has 18/19 balanced and so would bid 4 hearts.
  6. I asked on the non natural system section on the forums the meaning of this double and got this answer: 1♣ (1♠) X: Is a Mild positive response, 7-8 AKQ points: AQQ, KKQ, AK which would be G.F. since 1♣ promises 17+ hcp unbalanced and 18+ hcp if balanced.
  7. Perhaps 5NT and then 6♥ on 6♦/6♣?! Trying to indicate the lack of spade control (no 5♠ bid)?! This sounds like a good try to me. And it doesnt risk much.
  8. [hv=d=e&v=n&n=s632hkj3d983ca965&s=sakq5ha5dj52cj1074]133|200|Scoring: IMP bidding: east 1 club, south 1 nt, west pass ,north 3nt, all pass [/hv] lead diamond 4 to queen east who takes the diamond king also and switches to the spade ten. They lead 3rd 5th. Take it from there.
  9. Well im trying to find out if the double after: 1club(1spade) d is game forcing or not if assuming the double promises points. I was a little surprised to see a player ( Ricco van Prooyen playing with Louk Verhees )raise to six diamonds after 1cl (1sp) d (4 sp) 5 d (p) ?
  10. Been searching but cant find meaning of double sorry. My guess is 4 or 5 plus since the player in question did bid six with this hand. Ricco van Prooyen playing with Louk Verhees against Israel for a match to determine the third pair for the E.C. in Oostende. Partner had A, xx, AKQXXX, Axxx , club queen right diamonds 2-2 tx for answers i would have passed this at the table.
  11. After due consideration i go with the trump lead.
  12. Doe anyone know what the double promises in the ultimate club system when it goes partner 1 club ,1sp overcall (promising spades and clubs) , and you double that. game forcing? 5 plus points ? i cant find a system card for this system on the net. tx in advance!
  13. [hv=d=n&v=n&s=s1093hkq10d9652ckj3]133|100|Scoring: IMP[/hv] partner north opens strong club and r.h.o. follows 1spade ( promising spades and clubs), you double and l.h.o. jumps to 4 spades, partner bids 5 diamonds over that and it goes pass to you. Would you bid 6 ?
  14. When i play in a generally weak field i tend to work my way down to end positions where i have only trumps left and the opps dont have any. Only then do i claim. This works most of the time.
  15. The last movie which blew me away was the prestige by the same director (Chrispher Nolan) as batman begins , the dark knight and memento. Cant wait for his next film.
  16. Im also not convinced by the they must be close here posters. Double it is. If they are world class the happier i am for this opportunity.
  17. Yes i know this is completely flippant but this seems to transfer the problem to my partner something the outrageous mr Rexford didnt succeed to do:)
  18. double for take out and lets see where this leads
