I don't find the option to Rotate deal ( see above diagram) any longer in the latest html5 version. Was this feature removed in one of the upgrades? Any workaround to rotate the deal? Analyze suit option is also missing

How can I open a convention card in a new window?
Dwingo replied to adamw's topic in BBO Support Forum
Thanks barmar. I didn't see anything like "Open in new window" in the top right corner. However, my problem was resolved, as the menu bar ( that has the Back, Print, smaller font, bigger font icons) was right clickable and there were 2 options: 1) Open frame in new tab (2) Open frame in new window. Clicking on one of these solves my problem. Thanks for your quick support. But I am still intrigued as to why I don't see anything in the Top right corner. -
How can I open a convention card in a new window?
Dwingo replied to adamw's topic in BBO Support Forum
Same problem with Convention Card. My partner was mentioning, that he keeps the convention card open in another tab, as it pops up in a new window. I tried everything, but nothing of this sort happens for me. Safari browser on Mac with Permission granted to allow Pop-up windows under Safari preferences. Am I doing something wrong, or is it some bug? -
Old Post in the appropriate thread for more visibility. Mac. Safari. Multiple Tabs Open. New BBO running in one of the Tabs. When I have some spare time between rounds in a Tournament, I browse content in other Tabs waiting to hear the Sound for Round change or "It's your turn to play". Suddenly I realize that I have been disconnected from BBO. This has happened quite a few times. Does BBO need a separate Window for it to run? I had seen this type of problem, in the older web BBO, not this frequently, though usually after prolonged use, say 30mins or so (when multiple tabs are open). Something to the effect of insufficient memory. I had surmised that these maybe because of known Flash issues in Mac. So, I was looking forward to the non-Flash version. But the problem remains. Now see it more frequently. Though I don't get the memory notification, I still get disconnected using the new BBO when I keep switching tabs. If I remain in the BBO Tab, I am never disconnected. I have a very stable 75MBps connection. There is no problem with content refreshing in other tabs. So my ISP is not a problem. Hope this helps in finding the root cause, to fix this stability problem.

Thanks. aaBridge is pretty cool. For other useful stuff as well.

Thanks Gerardo. This maybe a bit too much for me, being a new Mac user. I will stick with my old Windows Laptop when I need to open any old LIN files

Windows user. Recently migrated to Mac. Playing on BBO is not a problem because of the web version. How do I open and view some of the old LIN files in my Mac?

Mobile app 4.0.2 feedback thread

Ghosts in the friends list. Today under the friends list, I have the profile photo of one friend transposed to another, ( who usually has a blank profile picture). I managed to take a screenshot. I can email it to you, if you think this is a bug. This was on ipad -

Major bug, can't chat when at table (iPad iOS 9.3.5), sometimes even while in Lobby. The keyboard simply does not pop out, how many ever times you hit the Chat button. The user experience has deteriorated. This needs an urgent fix soon. It feels very rude, when you are not able to reply to private message that you get. -
BBO Upgraded: ACBL IT, Friends/Followed/Ignored Players
Dwingo replied to diana_eva's topic in Suggestions for the Software
This Friends thing really got me mad. I was expecting to be in the friends list of a few friends with whom I play regularly on BBO and occasionally face to face. I can't ask them, why I am not in their list. Most of them do not use the Web version and hence will not know about it, even if I bring it up. Anyway, I have quietly defriended them, as I am not worthy to be on their list. My humble request, please scrap this in the next upgrade. -

Even if they want to play with me, I may not be interested in playing with them. The logic that I would be interested in playing with them, just because I am their friends list is totally flawed. -

The cards in the Mobile version are classy. Can we have them on the web version, please? -

IPad/Iphone. Is there no Audio in this App? I miss the BBO sounds. Or am I missing something? -
I miss the Other Room Result watching Vugraph. Was happy the Audio commentary worked well. Good Job. Neat Graphics. Graphics much much better than the Web version & the Downloadble version

Bridge program for a Tablet
Dwingo replied to EricK's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
iBridgePlus (iBridgePlus) works well with iphone as well as iPad. Based on Q Plus engine. Your pd will be the QPlus Bot. I like the Team Play ( configurable 4,8,12..24 deals) on that. Closed Room will be 2 QPlus bots. Think is about $20 for Lifetime play. Available as free download to try out a few sample hands. Very satisfied with the Play and bidding. Graphics basically designed for iphone ( very good ) and multiplied by 2 for the iPad ( not so good ). Understand they are working on an upgrade to optimize the graphics for the Retina display "new ipad" -
I have the same problem. I run BBO from a Stick drive ( not the usual C drive). Windows XP Pro. Not sure how to resolve this. Regards Godwin

Is there a link, where I can directly download the Windows client 5.2.21 instead of downloading 5.2.6 and then upgrading to 5.2.21?
-
Has anyone tried iSwifter for ipad? I was curious when I read this below statement My link My link Feedback solicited from people who try this about their BBO experience.
-
Has anyone tried Skyfire on Ipad? Skyfire This appears to circumvent the Flash problem with Ipad & Iphone.

Why am I unable to download the pdf file?

Analysis Programmes?
Dwingo replied to doclands's topic in General Bridge Discussion (not BBO-specific)
If they published the dealmaster pro file that produced the hand record then you could easily do a convert. It is much harder from the pdf. There is no reason why they cannot provide a suitable file from dealmaster pro - pbn or even lin file. Dealmaster Pro provides LIN outputs. Version 5.2 onwards. -
I would imagine that a "Team Match Club" in an analog way to the MBC, would be a better solution. [quote name=Dwingo' date='While creating Team Matches on web version, Chat to Lobby is sorely missed. I understand the issues for not allowing Chat to Lobby using the Web version. As it currently stands, there are not many players who are clicking on the empty seats if a TM is formed without all 8 members. I would suggest that as soon as a TM is created with atleast 1 seat unfilled, that the system generates an Automated message to Lobby ( this way there is a control on the No. of messages that is sent to Lobby) and people who want to join the TM should be able to right click on the message and join the TM screen with the empty seats shown. This way the empty seats would be filled up pretty soon. If this can be done both for Windows users and Flash users, that would be great. The good thing about this version, the TM starts when 1 table of 4 members is seated. The 2nd table can be formed even as the 1st table is playing. However the 2nd table has to be filled within a specific period of time. I am not sure what that time is. I remember when I was in the 3rd or 4th deal, the Team Match was closed on us as we are not able to get another 4 for the 2nd table. Though I appreciate the progress made on the Team Match front in the web version, there is still scope for improvement. As a TM organiser, I still prefer to use windows version for creating Team Matches. [/quote] The semi automated facility is very good idea, but would prefer that the host retains control of who enters the Team Match, similar to asking for Permission to sit at the table in MBC. It will be a disaster, if implemented in the "Take me quickly to a Team Match" fashion, as is now being done in MBC.
-
Not switched to web version fully. Team Match organising is that much simpler in Downloadable version ( chat to lobby is a must to start Team games, if you dont have the full 8 to start). Also the view of the other table, when some is RED is easy to spot and hence easier to substitute people who have a connection problem. Casual play in MBC - much easier to find a compatible partner and sit on time in the downloadable version.

Agree, and so 1♣:1♦ 1♠:2♥ 2♠: 4N is keycard for ♠ IMHO there is no need to jump to 4N so quickly. Go slow as pd can't pass your bid in a GF force auction. The 4th suit Force bidder is usually expected to announce the Trump strain at his next turn, as he would now have a good idea about partner's shape by now. That is the reason, partner is expected to descibe his shape as best as possible. So in this auction, I would just bid 3♠, setting ♠ as Trump. Bidding 3♣ would be setting ♣ as trump. Partner now can Cuebid and you will get another turn to bid your version of Keycard Blackwood. The corollary to this, if there are other known routes to RKC, then a direct 4NT after 2♠ should be Quantitative.
