I may be confused, but I can't make any sense of the bidding here. I think the bidding should have been 1♥ 1♠ 4♥* 4NT 5♣** 5NT 6♦*** 6NT**** 7NT***** *Maximum hand and 6+ hearts **3 Key cards (all accounted for) ***1 King (1 king missing) ****We're missing a king. *****That's okay, I have KQ in your suit, you can throw off the losers on my hearts. Is there anything wrong with this thinking? I'm I completely off my rocker? I count 15 winners, btw: 5♠s 6♥s 1♦ 3♣s Tough opener can't know that since he has no way to know responder has 5 spades instead of four. But he should be able to assertain 13 tricks from the bidding.

Being an intermediate player, myself, I'd do option 2. And if my partner misses telling me about a control, there'll be a fat man flying across the table when dummy comes down. :blink:

I am involved with mentoring, and I would like to be able to edit my movies without having to log in to BBO and start a Teaching table. As long as the 14 point hand fits in your description of 1NT then it is fine. I assume you alerted "14-17" or "12-14" since NoTrump point counts should always be announced.

4NT RKC tells you where the AK ♥ are. look for 6 or 7 NT.

Everyone who plays duplicate bridge should know that you aren't competing with the players at your table. You are competing with all the other players holding the same hand as you are. So, the only thing unfair is when my opps don't overbid and others do. :rolleyes:

A double in this situation would show exactly 4/4 in the other two suits, 10+ points, preferably 13, but assume a King from your partner if you need to. Or, a double could be any shape with 16+ HCP. which another bid by doubler shows when it comes back around. A redouble by opener I think is not an option.

I think 3♣ should show a limit raise or better. If partner has extra values, I'm assuming he'll go to 4♠. If he does, I go to 6♠. Over the 3♠ response, I just go to 4♠. Good luck with this one.

I'm asking my partner to pass for a penalty (with spade support) or bid game( with no spade support). I have a strong hand.

I like the 4♥/5♦ route myself. Thinking partner will put me back in Hearts with at least 2 hearts and less than 4 diamonds

I believe my partner's double has asked me to lead a suit that was bid but not the trump suit. I would lead a Heart expecting partner to be short in hearts.

Any and all non-natural bids should be self-alerted on BBO as a courtesy. And it was rude of her to boot you instead of asking you to leave.

I'm going to say 3♠ to cue bid my first round controls which I would intend as support of the hearts, I opened 1 NT so my partner is the captain. Partner can choose where to put the contract and how to get there.

You most likely have enough for game. Priority ONE is to find a major suit fit. Bid 1♠, which would be forcing for me.

I think I'd always bid 4♠
