  2. MPs, favorable 1♦-(1NT)-2♦*-(4♣) p-(5♣)-? *majors ♠Q10xxxx ♥AKJ10x ♦x ♣x
  3. ♠K973 ♥KQ1073 ♦AJ108 ♣--- None vul, MPs p-(1♠)-2♥-(p) 3♥-(4♣)-4♥-(5♣) p-(p)-5♥-(6♣) p-(p)-???
  4. Believe it or not, this is not related to the wedding. We didn't put anything on the registry that we didn't want. If you must know why I'm asking, I have some new items (no item over $30) that were given to me a few years ago (2004, 2005) at Christmas that I can't use. I've never had what I considered an opportunity to get rid of these, so it looks like I am going to throw them out (or maybe take them to the sell it on Ebay store) when I move soon. This got me thinking about regifting in general, since I think at least one of these was probably a regift to me.
  5. How do you feel about re-gifting: (1) new items (unopened or never use) (2) like new items (3) used items In each case, when would be an appropriate occasion? Who would be an appropriate, inappropriate recipient?
  6. 3♥ lol to this even being considered a problem
  7. Hmm Red/white, pard is a PH, IMPs, LHO is an UPH, 4 of our 14 HCP are ♣KJ gee I dunno
  8. I wouldn't pass the second double even if I knew the opps had a misunderstanding, and I'd still pass the first double even if I knew for sure that the ridiculous "Drury" explanation was right and the doubler had his bid. If partner can't act on his own again, then we shouldn't be in the auction.
  9. so pard is 0346 or something, looks like a 3♥ bid to me
  10. LHO has --- AJ10xx 8xx Q109xx There is actually a line to make this hand: Win ♣A Spade finesse ending in hand. heart to King diamond You will lose two diamonds and a heart, or one diamond, one heart, and a trump if LHO wins hA when you lead a heart You can't make if you run the ♠10, lol
  11. The line stated so far succeeds when trumps are 2-2 and RHO holds the ♣Q or when trumps are 3-1 and LHO holds the ♣Q. I think this is the right line. Now, assume that LHO has flashed you the ♣Q. Re-plan the play.
  12. I thought my opps warranted it so I bid 2♠. An interesting play problem resulted. See my other thread.
  13. The problem obviously isn't "what do I play on this trick" Plan the play.
  14. All white, MPs (2♥)-p-(p)-2♠ (p)-4♠-all pass ♠10953 ♥K753 ♦K3 ♣AKJ ♠AQJ84 ♥Q84 ♦974 ♣32 The lead is the ♣9. You ask their carding and they say "standard signals, lead of the 9 shows 0 or 2 higher"
  15. All white, MPs (2♥)-p-(p)-? ♠AQJ84 ♥Q84 ♦974 ♣32
  16. Partner overcalled red/white in the death seat. This hand is way too good for 3♣. I bid 3♠ which shows a stopper since they have bid two suits.

    Obvio

    1. Agree with 3♣. 2. I think partner has shown extras, but it doesn't matter on this hand. 3. 4♦. If partner can cue hearts then I'll bid 6♣ next.
  18. I might psych a strong NT; wouldn't psych a weak NT
  19. 2♣. Second choice 1♣.
