at home i have a router and use zonealarm as my outbound protector - i notice no difference in my login times when zonealarm is disabled; if uday's suggestion doesn't clear it up for you, perhaps try switching your software.
My Controls (top right) Board Settings (bottom left) "Do you wish to recieve pop-up...[etc]" <-- change to yes. if it -is- changed to yes, and you're not getting them: are you running a pop-up blocker?
further to the formatted alerts.. the ability to pre-program the alerts and then choose them as appropriate from a drop-down list of some kind would be handy as well :)
p, pt, ptn, part, pd, pard = partner o, op, opp, ops, opn = opponents wd = well done gj = good job np = no problem vn = very nice nt = nice try nd = nice defense i'm sure somebody will have some more to add to this list
alot of spyware implants itself randomly into commonly used files; just because it was found in the bbo files, doesn't mean it came with bbo - which i'm quite sure it didn't.
good points and as i said, it was a learning experience. and the majority of the problems we had were dealing with the forcing pass in the second round, which we were completely unprepared for. overall the experience was humbling to say the least. but i think we're both looking forward to doing it again if it's happening.
i try to limit myself to 10 seconds per question, to simulate honesty on my part: 1) pass (for now) 2) pass 3) double 4) 1nt (might be the coffee talking) 5) 3nt
i have yet to play in any of the tournaments here on BBO, but have been considering starting as of late. i see alot of horror stories posted here on the forum about poorly run events and in some cases even worse from the players. a tournament with the layout you've suggested sounds like it would go a long way to overcoming alot of the difficulties i've heard about (especially having 2 TD's present).. that's assuming, of course, that the players are less likely to mess with the tournament when they're putting up their own money. i would defininetely be willing to give your tourneys a couple go's assuming the schedule suits my partner
personally i have to run into little or no disruptions of this nature that were not attributed to extraneous forces (users with notably poor ISP connections, dial-up users, and abnormally high volumes due to high profile vugraph events)
